Graces F is my favorite, best battle system in any Tales game.

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles is probably the best place to start. It's the oldest, so it's battle system is pretty straight forward. Starting somewhere else and coming back may feel like a downgrade. As for it's sequel... I still can't bring myself to play it. Same for graces f. Graces f would have been better if you didn't have to choke through the childhood arc. But, the story and voice acting were pretty garbage anyway. Zestiria was fun, but the weapon fusion is tedious and the story is meh. The characters were decent though. Xillia one was fun but the plot twist is from Symphonia. Xillia 2 is my second favorite though Ludger is op and it has a few plot holes. There are parts that you really feel for the characters especially if you played Xillia first (which is a pretty much must). Anyway if you like story Graces f and Symphonia Dawn of the New World are not for you.
