Fuchsia Butterflies Posted January 14, 2016 Share Posted January 14, 2016 When I first started this game, I was going to try to do a one play through plat run, however after many failed attempts of getting a heroic victory on the first mission, I figured to just play to enjoy it and come back to get those later. My problem was during German turns, they would move near my soldiers, and my soldiers would fire at them and sometimes miss. Since I am not controlling my troops, and they are firing on their own, they tended to miss shots, costing me the heroic victory. PerryToxteth Posted January 14, 2016 Share Posted January 14, 2016 Keep your troops back. They can hit targets farther than the "sights" the game gives you. If Wehrmacht is hitting you on their turns, you are too close to them. Also, snipers see farther so use them as scouts. And, use your troops in tandem so if one guy doesn't kill the target, another can move in and finish him off. Enfilading fire works great for a strategy. If you're only a few missions in, I'd start over just to get down a strategy of using troop strength in tandem. Also, you may want to start over bc game wants you to load up your platoon in the first mission with average GI's when you don't need them. zzamaro Posted January 19, 2016 Share Posted January 19, 2016 It does not matter if you missed much. Try just to aim in just a few turns and not getting your soldiers killed. It's actually beneficial if you can kill during your opponent's turn. I started getting HV starting on mission 3. Do not bother with stealth ones...the ones with a red bar and also avoid the first mission because it must be done in 5 turns and you are not even familiar with the game so no point in bothering. If you get the game in mission 3-4, then you will get the trophy as early as mission 15-16 w/o even trying. It's that easy. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Kishnabe Posted January 19, 2016 Share Posted January 19, 2016 The first five missions you can easily get Heroic. I got 4 for the first 5 missions. Right now on mission 14....and have 9 Heroics. Escort, Defend are the easiest to get Heroics. Defend missions...I keep a few snipers hidden behind objects.
