Do you ever regret spending a lot of time playing games

Nope sad thing is though video games is probably the only thing keeping me going.
That don't have much of a social life either since I don't really have friends anymore these days and don't plan on making anymore either.
Although the only game I ever bought I regret putting any time into was Wander(Couldn't even get the platinum either) but yeah I guess only a .5 percent otherwise not really.
Had more enjoyment of playing Pokemon, Eternal Sonata and Okami

Not really. I still find time to hang out with my close friends and spend time with my family. I've learned how to balance spending a lot of time playing games, going to college, working and managing my relationships. I'll crack at some point.

Not typically, gaming is what makes me the most happy and is something I'll never stop doing (mainly because the real world sucks in alot of ways). However I do somewhat regret getting sucked into World of Warcraft during my time in high school as it did a number on my social skills / health / grades, and my overall development as a person in general (ambitions). I invested well over 12,000 hours of my life into my one character on that game and now I don't even care what happens to my account or for the game in that regard. But at the same time those years of playing with all my friends are so nostalgic to me, and as sad as this sounds; they were some of the most fun years I had in my life.

No.  If anything, the only thing I regret is any time I spend feeling bad about doing harmless things that I enjoy like gaming... which is unfortunately a stigma that I've created for myself from the environment I grew up in, and doesn't seem to be going anywhere (on its own anyways).

no, if i wasn't playing games i would most likely replace that time with something else like reading magazines/ novels, drawing or Netflix. Despite my parents saying that I would better grades if I gave up gaming, they are very very wrong as I would certainly fill up the time with something that's otherwise stupid and unproductive as opposed to just studying more.

I have to still hide my gaming tendencies from my dad though, as he's very anti-gaming, saying I should socialise more and also blames games for my single status? Surely he will never find out that I also like to indulge in otome games, I can't even imagine the shock and horror on his face if he even found out that such thing exists!

Nah, not at all really.  I only regret spending time on games I don't actually like.  I haven't done that in a LONG time personally.

I do regret some game purchases I make though.  That still happens quite frequently.  I might even consider it worse to be honest.

Playing better games. I'll always regret touching some of the games I've played like Goat Simulator and GoW: Judgement.

Goat Simulator is like that ugly one-night stand that you wake up beside the next morning. Sure, it's a demeaning experience for all involved, and sure, you're not going to talk about it with your friends, but when you think about it, it wasn't so bad while it happened.

I would have agreed with this if it weren't for that stupid Flappy Goat trophy.

No way! I'm able to regret having met certain people online than play videogames which is a "good" drug for me and helps me to pass the time
There is time for everything in life, I like to play but i also have time for my job, boyfriend, traveling among other things! you must choose well the time for each activity

Not for a long time. I think it's important to have balance; but at the end of the day it comes down to the individual. Speaking for myself, I've made measurable progress in other areas of my life, and gaming rarely, if ever, gets in the way of that. Even when aggressively pursuing a grindy platinum (Rogue Galaxy!) I don't feel 'I could be doing something else,' because on the whole I am, just not then and there. This was different back when I was a teenager: I'd have all these plans and they'd never get done, because there was always one more game to play, one more trophy to earn. Moved on from that phase fairly quickly, though, and if I'm still not quite where I want to be right now, it's got little to do with gaming.

Essentially, if you're playing a lot of games when you want or need to be doing something else, but can't stop, then sure, maybe there's a problem. Otherwise I don't see a need to regret anything.

The only game I regret spending a lot of time on is Runescape, which is an MMORPG. I have over 21,000 hours logged into that now and I barely play it anymore, aside from checking out new updates here and there.

For the most part I did enjoy playing, but the problem with spending all your time on one game is that when you lose interest in it, you either feel like it was a waste of time or force yourself to continue playing in an attempt to convince yourself it wasn't. For the last few years I did the latter until trophy hunting finally weaned me off it.

Then there's the game's developers making all the achievements I earned during those hours trivial by introducing overpowered training methods and pay-to-win. For example, I spent several months playing all day every day to reach the experience cap in the Defence skill, but thanks to updates, that can now be done in a two weeks of completely AFK training - one week if you buy bonus experience. So I can't even say I achieved anything worthwhile on it anymore.

Now that I'm having so much more fun trophy hunting, it feels like even more of a waste of time. If I had just gotten a PS3 when it was released instead of continuing to play Runescape, I could've experienced hundreds of other games and actually had something to show for it by the end :(

Runescape took like 6 years out of my life.

Ehhh, I can't say that I regret spending so much time on video games. I love them. Never will I get tired of playing them. I've just came to realize that I can't play them as much as I used too. At times it sucks cause I may get a little too burned out on playing something. I've just been finding myself doing new hobbies, hanging out with the family, spending some time with friends.

Sometimes I just some time away from them if I'm getting too worked up over a trophy or a boss fight or whatever the scenario may be.

I might regret many other things like choosing the wrong career but when it comes to video games probably never. Someday I will grow old and look back telling myself there's no need to regret playing video games as it was memorable and that's life.

No, definitely not, but I just hope I'd use some of that time in reading.
I've changed in the last years in deciding when it's time to stop playing, so freeing up time for other things (like reading) hasn't been that difficult.

What I do regret is staying up late playing (which only happens every once in a while with some friends), my eyes really can't stand it.

I don't necessarily know if I regret spending time playing games in general, but I do know some situations where I've questioned if it's worth it to spend MORE time playing some games. For example, I bought my first PS3 used from a buddy of mine who knew I guy that was selling his. It last me a few good years and then the processing chip detached from inside the console rendering my system broken. I've got the hard-drive sitting here on a shelf (don't know how to get the save files out, if it's even possible), but I look back at games like Red Dead Redemption or Just Cause 2 where I had TONS of hours pumped into them and I just can't be assed to start those over.
