Gauging its quality

What do you think of the game overall? 

 

I personally feel it's an improvement over 3 and in terms of storytelling and the activities you can do in this game. Players complain of Shinada's skill set and his and Akiyama's worthlessness in the Coliseum, but I welcome the challenge. Kiryu's Dragon Rage is worthless though. 

 

It doesn't come close the epicness of the war with the Korean mob and the Omi Alliance in 2, but I do consider it as a current favourite of the series.

For those of us who have only played 4, how does 5 compare with that? I liked 4 a lot except for the hostess part where you had to dress them just right to advance. I used a guide on that part only and am glad I did. The rest was fun and 3 or 4 challenges at the end were difficult enough for a stiff challenge (the cop fight on the pier esp).

It's longer compared to 4. You travel through more than one city with multiple characters, and there's a lot more activities to do than 4, like hunting and pop idol quests.
