Conker
http://www.siliconera.com/2016/02/15/creators-dragon-fin-soup-cant-fix-playstation-versions/ Now this is just poor, you seriously cannot fix the game on the PlayStation machines.... So there goes anyone wanting to plat it So what's your thoughts on this?
Popular Post NotAFoxAnymore
Then they should pull it from the playstation store. They shouldn't just continue to sell a game they know is broken.
LukeWarm115
I've been putting it off waiting for a fix. Guess I won't ever touch it now. It looked interesting too.
Popular Post NathanielJohn
Is this actually new information? The article is basically just another one saying that they don't have control, and it's up to Blit Works. They've said that exact same thing before. Nowhere in the article is it confirmed that the PS versions will never be fixed (though that may be the case). BooneIronshield
The article states that everything about the port was handled by an entirely different company and the dev of the main PC version doesn't even have access to the source code in order to fix it. It sucks but I'd say the blame lies more with Blit Works than Grimm Bros.
Popular Post LastPisTolman
I don't buy this. If the porting studio are not fulfilling their side of a contract, then the right to have returned the entirety of the work to the contract originator arises. There are cases in which a porting studio will have unique material owing to the nature of rewriting to fit onto an alternate platform, but when they breach that contract they are no longer protected by it. This still strikes as massive buck passing on Grimm Bros. part not to mention a massive middle finger to the people that financed them on Kickstarter in the first place. Even entertaining the idea that the contract with Blit Works was written horrendously, and their lawyer doesn't know his arse from his elbow and can't draw up a basic defamation case; they should buy the rights (and accompanying source code) back and make good to their very loyal supporters. The very supporters that they are fobbing off being the very people that made this whole farce a possibility for them. This has earned them a spot on my very small blacklist. I'll delete this game from my harddrive, which is a shame as I was looking forward to taking it for a whirl someday - but I'll do the worst thing I can do to this game and studio; forget that it ever existed. yellowwindow7
what are the problems with the game? I heard it's even worse on Vita. if it's so broken then why are they still selling it? they should refund anyone who bought it then.

damon8r351
This thread title should more accurately state that Blitworks fucked up the port and they haven't fixed their screwup. Because if that is stated, then the story goes from "Grimm Bros are soup sandwiches who can't fix their own shit" to "Grimm Bros fixed their shit on PC, but can't do the same for Playstation because a separate independent studio that did the port fucked it up and can't/won't fix their issues". In news, that sort of thing is called "burying the lead". Just forget everything I said here, once I dug a little deeper than what the original link said. There was some pretty shady shit done to meet a PS+ deadline. Edited February 17, 2016 by damon8r351
Xel
I feel for those who started the game and are concerned about their completion rate. This is straight up unacceptable.

Leenewbe
seems to be pretty much every indie devs answer now , passing the book and never getting stuff fixed. Edited February 17, 2016 by Leenewbe
Dragon-Archon
The article clearly says "BlitWorks hasn’t yet said anything publicly about updating the PlayStation versions of Dragon Fin Soup.", so I don't see what all the commotion is about. Grimm Bros has said numerous times they didn't port Dragon Fin Soup to the Playstation and this article pretty much says the same thing.
TheYuriG
If someone could just be kind enough to post the last link from BlitWorks saying how they had to port the game midway through development and how they knew it was broken and they couldn't do anything about it because they are just a PORTING studio... In news, that sort of thing is called "burying the lead".Do not buy into this bullshit, clearly a click bait article. BlitWorks said they just need the patch from the company to port the patch to ps3. It's true however that the devs won't fix the consoles versions themselves, but this "my hands are tied" is a bullshit beyond insulting.I just hope that we don't have another Luftrausers among us... Mournblade05143
This is why ppl such as I are critical of PS Plus. Sony shoves these "highly rated" games. How are these bug infested games "highly rated"?

Wait, forget everything I just said. Because when you find out that this game was sent to the porting studio incomplete and not fully tested, in order to meet the PS+ contract Grimm Bros signed with Sony to meet the funding goal for the Playstation versions to exist in the first place, you'll be angrier than that article could ever make you. Good thing I didn't lay down a single cent for it. Edited February 17, 2016 by damon8r351
RedRodriguez87
What a shame, it was a pretty funky platinum to have. Though, if I'm honest, the game barely looked and played like something that came from the early 2000s, so I'm not exactly weeping over here. Satoshi Ookami
Then they should pull it from the playstation store. They shouldn't just continue to sell a game they know is broken. Well... we would have to live in a perfect world for this to happen. What is broken on this game apart from unobtainable Plat btw? If Plat is the only problem, well, they have no reason to oblige... :/ Edited February 17, 2016 by Satoshi Ookami
Red-River13
That sucks because I really liked the art style and wanted to get the platinum someday. Hopefully they fix the problem.

What is broken on this game apart from unobtainable Plat btw? If Plat is the only problem, well, they have no reason to oblige... :/ The game freezes and crashes randomly, making it very hard to get some trophies that have to be done in one sitting (i.e. kill x amount of enemies, complete 20 rune puzzles, go on 50 drunk rampages, etc.). Some trophies are unobtainable because they won't pop when requirements are met and some pets just don't spawn.

straysheep87
I really don't know why Sony always choose the most broken and glitched games to the IGC. And also, how they allow to developers of these games (the same thing goes with Styx: Master of Shadows) simply says "we can't patch it because it's very expensive, so you all will remain with this broken shit game forever, because we don't give a shit to you players". TheYuriG
I hope they do patch it. I've been looking forward to attempting the platinum for it. Same, archon said good things about the game and I look forward to playing it whenever it's fixed. Until then, off my HD.
