What is everyone's opinions on Overwatch for PS4?

Personally I'll be getting it on PC, and I assume that's going the be where the biggest playerbase will be, but is there anyone looking to get it for console, if so how do you see it panning out? Why do you want it on console? How different do you think it will play with controller over the quicker moving mouse?

I think it looks like a really fun game so far, nice to see a new IP come out, even if it is largely influenced by TF2. Being funded and developed by Activision-Blizzard is a huge deal and they have put a lot of effort it seems into really diversifying the characters and giving them almost a fighting games, or moba, level of distinction from each other, so right off the bat it has a good draw to it. I haven't got into the PC beta yet, so I haven't tasted the gameplay, but from what I've seen it looks really fast paced (perhaps too much so? damage seems high) and very engaging.

For those unaware, the release date has been announced as May 24th for all platforms.

Does this Character Pose Considered Too Sexy?tracer-overwatch-1200x675.jpg

Blizzard has allegedly recently pulled this Pose from the Game due to outrage of it being seen as reducing a Female Character to a Sex Symbol so I wanna know what do you guys think, does Sex jump to the mind at first glance at the Image?, is Blizzard in the wrong for posing Tracer(Character Above) in such a pose? or is it just an overreaction of "Censorship"?

Hyped for the release. I can see how it is but that is only for the pervs and people like that. Normal people just look at it as the name makes it out to be. Over the shoulder as in her looking over her shoulder. I actually use Tracer a lot and it is for the same reason I hate facing her. She's annoying. I mean she uses Blink (teleports a short distance) and Recall (rewinds time to a previous point [for self only]) which gets pretty annoying when facing her. Great to hold or contest an objective in my opinion. Blinking all around the Payload.

I know your post is old, but i didn't play the Close Beta & now in the Open Beta i see this...

I mean, what's the difference between this and Tracer's old pose? Widowmaker even has a bigger butt than her...

Question: On the beta therws credits to buy new skins? Will this be earned with real money or in game?

From what i've read on the Overwatch forum the loot boxes are confirmed to be microtransactions (nobody ever linked proof though...) and apparently that gold currency will be the only way to buy things individually.

That is Widowmaker and they changed the over the shoulder pose for Tracer. Same style but the leg blocks it off.

I was actually pretty pleased with the Overwatch beta. I wasn't even considering the game but after playing it for most of the weekend, I was highly entertained even when I got stuck with useless randoms. It might be because I haven't played a FPS in months however it has been a while since any beta changed my outlook on a game in a positive way. From what I've seen, it's a pretty simplistic game but delivers what it has exceptionally well. Heavy on the multiplayer so might want to avoid it if you have no friends (to play with) or hate playing with randoms. I hope this game does well.

Blizzard has already changed the pose to a new one with resemblance to a classic Bombshell Pin-Up style of photo poses, so far no backlash as of recent so I'm guessing the person that had an issue with the previous pose is happy with the new pose I suppose. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

what's this like in comparison to Battleborn. I'm really enjoying and don't have time for 2 games so similar.

Thanks

They are completely different genre's and nothing alike. The comparison is a dumb one (the media pushed this silly view because they both have crazy characters and are multiplayer. This is NOT a MOBA, battleborn however is VERY closely related to one - not aimed at you)

If you like the idea of 6v6 arena class based team FPS (think team fortress) then theres a good chance you will enjoy this.

But it is nothing like battleborn which is more fps moba then team arena.

Main difference:

There is no AI minions/mobs

No 'lanes'

No leveling (in terms of you level up and get new abilities within a match - you level but it basically does nothing but give you loot crates with new skins ect)

No neutral mercenary camps

No Gear outside of skins/emotes ect

No Item Purchasing during matches

No offline campaign. Its pure 6v6 fun.

No unlocking or buying abilities. Its all there from the start.

Ect

Yes, OW has Ultimate's which are charged through play related to the class you are (healing for example speeds up Mercy's resurrection ability). Even that works differently to moba's though

Overwatch is class based team shooter. Its heavily invested in the meta of rock paper scissors which means jumping between classes mid game to counter others and working as a team to take a point or escort a truck basically. Think Team Fortress not DOTA

Like what VitalFury was saying. comparing Battleborn and Overwatch is silly.

Overwatch is an arena shooter like Team Fortress 2 or Unreal Tournament.

Battleborn is a MOBA like League of Legends, Dota 2, Smite, and Heroes of the Storm, but with borderlands gameplay.

I never understood the Battleborn vs Overwatch comparison, but if your going to compare them Battleborn is the better game for your money. It has a story mode, 25 characters, and it's PVP modes have more depth then Overwatch's current offering. Overwatch is still a fun game though.

Well, I personally decided to get Overwatch on PC since I don't have a PS4 yet and I am LOVING it!  :D  I am DEFINITELY addicted to it!   The action is fast, frantic and crazy! Fast-thinking and fast reflexes required! Even though the other FPS' I play are on console, I am having a good time with the PC version. #BlizzardFanBoy  B)

Another thing to add is what friends play or how easy you can find some people to play with. Randoms can either be amazing or utterly painful lol

(for me OW has much more value but then I can't stand MOBA shit and I love this game so I MIGHT be biased lol)

I bought the game on a whim last weekend as I knew I had a week's holiday coming up and wanted something to play with my buddies.

It's so goddamn great. I can't stop playing it. Even playing with randoms can be fun if they're a team that knows what they're doing and play to the objective.

Every now and again, you get a couple of idiots who insist on playing the game like it's CoD Team Deathmatch, and the losses which will inevitably follow can be very frustrating. Just back out of these lobbies when they occur, it's not worth playing with these scrubs.

Voice chatting makes a hell of a difference. Even if you're the only one on comms, you can still call out things you see and direct your team, which can save you the match.

I even managed to get into a group of 5 this weekend. With all of us co-ordinating on voice comms and stacking ultimates, we won game after game after game, often against stiff competition. Communication and a varied team is the key to success here. You want to have enough different hero's on the field to respond to any threat, and to be able to communicate those threats to one another.

It's been a long time since I've enjoyed an MP game anywhere near this much. Overwatch is very refreshing indeed.

This. Apart from League of Legends, it's been a very long time since I've enjoyed a multiplayer game this much.

I think I have like 70 hours put in already... O.O (bought it on release)

Never had an "all Bastions" team situation but the Torbjorn's thing can be quite annoying sometimes, though it's not unwinnable. That said it can be very satisfying when you're on the team who has at least 2 Torbjorn's and the other team just can't break through the defenses.

Had a moment the other day where my entire team went Soldier 76 (I'd already selected him before it happened though) and I just decided it'd be good for a laugh and rolled with it.......then we somehow won......still trying to figure out how that happened. It took a while to be fair but yeah, we somehow managed it against a team that was pretty balanced. Weird. When I told a friend of mine he wasn't surprised though. lol.

Team COD/We are all soldiers now (6 Soldier 76's) is one of the stronger all same hero teams.  Soldier 76 does good damage, has a heal, can run, and his ult is really strong.

(*Team Dads ;) ;) )

Right it makes when you put it that way I guess. Funny thing was my luck with this game is annoying, but I almost managed the Undying trophy in that match. Didn't get it until later with Torbjorn, but I DID get Soldier 76's "Target Rich Environment" trophy completely by accident only to immediately die. lol. I was fine with not getting Undying due to getting that.
