Dead Star Trophy List Discussion

It reminds me a lot of Hardware: Rivals. Doesn't look overly hard, but will be a time sink for sure. Probably a pass from me, unless early feedback is really positive.

The only hard looking trophy would be the killstreak of 10. Could see that being a challenge.

If all trophies are obtainable offline or couch- Co-op....then great.

Yeah, I have no interest in online only MP. If I can't play this game offline SP, or couch co-op, I'm not even going to bother adding it to my library, never mind download it. It's too bad, I'm always looking for more space-set shooters.

Game is online only, I can't even find an option for private matches. You can play 5 v 5 or 10 v 10 games, but I assume it limits your search to the max allowable per team if you invite other people into your lobby.

Trophy's doesn't look to difficult to achieve online.

I think this platinum is going to be extremely difficult. The game almost plays like a MOBA, so player kills aren't happening all the time. Some of the ships are wildly imbalanced compared to others (I keep getting wrecked by people using the Justicar because it's main weapon is ridiculous) and you need 100 player kills with each ship.

A fair amount of the game is going to be luck dependent too. To even play the Escape Run mode you need to get a Contract which is a random drop from playing the other game mode. Augments are random drops too and you need 4 of a specific type to upgrade one augment on 1 ship.

I've played probably 5 games now and have only won once (and not from lack of trying, randoms are awful). I've also yet to have a game not end from timeout basically.

I don't see a very large number of people getting this platinum. It's not a short easy game like Hardware Rivals was.

Couldn't agree more I've always wanted to find a spaceship/star trek esque game that is accessible for a novice pilot and even thought this is a moba this definitely does the job.

If anybody else is playing and enjoying, and fancies grouping up for some action shoot me a message my other trophy whoring friends refuse to play it (their loss). I've got a mic as well in case that makes a difference to people.

Would definitely say the list is more than manageble. The capital ships aren't around much yet, I think they will start dropping contracts when people reach high levels but the kill streak isn't too bad you just need a team mate using the healing ship whilst you have something with hefty fire power and maneuverability. The key isn't huge damage as much as it is being able to run away and survive.

Or just stealing kills from other people. :P That's basically how I managed kill streak and the Ace Pilot awards. Hanging out near other people using the Justicar (think that's by far the best of the heavy ships due to it's massive damage output and wide spread on it's primary weapon). If you shoot people you do constant damage so you'll likely get attributed the kill even if someone else is shooting at them.

I honestly think those capital ship trophies could be the worst ones depending on how often the contracts drop and how the Escape Run mode works. Depending on how much people feel like ganging up on them when they appear in public matches you could end up basically screwed if you end up with the whole lobby on it (I assume it will drop them in the 10 v 10 matches and if all 20 people go after it I doubt you can defend well against that). Assuming everyone in your group wants the trophy then that means you need to succeed at the contract 4 times (and have it drop for all four people so they can each lead). Seems not set up in a way that really would incentivize doing them when you could be screwed out of them and the rewards don't seem that great (I assume they're what drop the elite avatars and paint jobs). Also depending on how often they drop and how active the community stays you might never see the capital ships in your games.

Everything else in the game other than that is grind basically. I've yet to get a decisive Victory, games always end too fast and nobody really pushes after capturing one outpost past middle. All three times I've had a team reach the other team's home base the game ends from timeout.

Ah so that was you stealing my kills ;P

Yes I've not seen a single capital ship yet but I've only seen one player over level 20 so I'm assuming the capital drop is a high level one maybe. I've had a few specialists as rewards for when I do my capital runs.

The timer does need a little longer for destroying bases but I think it'd be manageable with a squad of four actually targeting zones. The couple of times I've got close has been about three quarters of the way through my entire team ending in the same zone but we only had one healer and their base was max upgraded.

I don't think the decisive victories are that bad, I've got around 12 already and I've found playing the 5v5 mode makes it a lot easier. The level 50 and level 25 augment seem to be really grindy but I think the Capital ship trophies will be the hardest to get. Hopefully the contract for playing it becomes a reasonably common drop at higher levels.

5 v 5 is definitely the way to go for Decisive Victory. I just got one match that was 3 v 3 where I pretty much soloed the game for our team, Seems it prioritizes matchmaking for the 10 v 10 games because it took me like 15 minutes just to get the first 5 v 5 game started.

The game it self it's really fun, maybe with friend can be even better; even if a  lot of these trophy are really grindy maybe with a couple of friend the hours can literally pass without even realizing (I have hit almost 900 Hours with Destiny, without even realizing...)

The capital ship mentions it's 6 random jumps to the end and this can be through player matches and AI areas (from the in game help).

Might be not too bad depending on how strong the ship is. Try taking down a level five homebase and it's nigh on impossible. If you can upgrade the ship as you go it might be doable with little difficulty.
