Asuka Langley
Isn't this game a VN? I'm sure you can skip through it real fast if you try, hence the fast plat times.

Walt the Dog
Force Skip. The worst kind of trophy hunting. Y'know, this would actually make sense if there was any accomplishment at all in reading a visual novel. Except there isn't, so shitting on people constantly for skipping VNs just comes off as elitist as fuck. Honestly, if the developers themselves gave any sort of shit about it, they'd probably disable trophies when "Force Skip" is enabled since it's generally something that has to be manually enabled from the Options menu before you can use it anyway.
Satoshi Ookami
Y'know, this would actually make sense if there was any accomplishment at all in reading a visual novel. And reading the story 'till the end isn't an accomplishment? Also, since we're on it, what is accomplishment in finishing any other game? Except there isn't, so shitting on people constantly for skipping VNs just comes off as elitist as fuck. That may be so, but that won't stop me from pointing it It's a disgrace to the game and I stand by this opinion. Honestly, if the developers themselves gave any sort of shit about it, they'd probably disable trophies when "Force Skip" is enabled since it's generally something that has to be manually enabled from the Options menu before you can use it anyway. This is one thing I keep wishing for and know it will never happen. Edited April 18, 2016 by Satoshi Ookami

I don't really play games to feel like I accomplish something. I play games to enjoy myself and I can certainly find enjoyment out of helping to shape a good story with a cast of well developed characters (not saying Diabolik does or does not fit these criteria as I haven't played it). But while it really makes no sense to me why someone would pay for a game just to skip the entire thing, I do understand that we are all different. If someone wants to pay for nothing but trophies, at least they are buying copies of a game and contributing to more visual novels being made. Theladozz
The fact that someone has read a vn doesn’t seem any more impressive to me than auto skipping through the whole thing. Should I be impressed by your ability to read or something? If you enjoyed the game, that’s cool, the person who skipped it is the one missing out on a possibly great story. But said person probably enjoyed enjoyed getting an easy plat enough to justify the buy, so I don’t see the harm. I mean let’s be honest, anyone who’s serious about vns plays them on pc anyway so who cares. It’s actually a good thing that hardcore trophy hunters also buy them imo, because if the games are successful, chances of getting more ports are higher, I personally couldn’t care less if they read it or not.
Walt the Dog
This is one thing I keep wishing for and know it will never happen. Though to be fair, even without force skip, there's always the ability to just button mash your way to the end on somethibg like XBlaze: Lost Memories where there aren't any choices within the VN parts or something like Cross Channel where there's a button press trophy, but the game doesn't highlight a choice until you move the cursor. The best detterent to this kind of stuff would be to make it so you can't Force Skip and the first choice is automatically highlighted whenever a choice pops up so button mashers and turbo-users would get tripped up. Hell, if it was a kinetic novel or something where there's only choices in the common route, each clear trophy could have a minimum time requirement corresponding to roughly how long it would take someone to read the relevant part if they were good readers and they didn't wait for voices to finish minus a couple hours for leeway, making sure that time spent on a line wouldn't count if you spent over a minute or so on that line and pausing the timer when Auto Mode is on so people can't cheat it anyway. Of course, that in particular would be a shitload of effort just to drive away customers. Yet if I end up making a kinetic novel, it's likely what I'll do.
