smellslikejavier
Apart from the style of the drawing, there's no difference between an Anime game and a Cartoon based one. Also RPG and JRPG are not different, JRPG (which doesn't exist) would be classed as sub genre of RPG (As it has no major differences than the fact the game was created in Japan). Asian genres don't exist, bring me proof that it does. PS4.5/Maybe XB1.5 would be 8.5 generation consoles. PS3 Original are PS3 Super Slim/ Slim are technically the same. You are right about that. I was talking about if the PS4.5 makes good sales in EU and NA but bad sales in Japan, how can you say that it's a worldwide brand with worldwide brand success? Pretty much nothing, I just don't like to read blatant lies. Anyway, I will drop it now. of course there are differences, the storyline, characters, budget, etc while the majority of cartoon games are aimed to kids the majority of anime games are aimed to teens-adults because of its content. it can be a sub genre or anything but there are many differences that make them have a different title, which exists. "8.5" does indeed not exist, and just because 1 model doesn't sell well that doesn't mean it will instantly become western, that doesn't have to do only with its sales, but their content. Back in the PS2 era, many reviewers compared the Mark of Kri's graphics to a Disney movie but the brutal gameplay was absolutely nothing like a cartoon based game aimed at kids. I am currently playing The Banner Saga and it has a cartoonish graphical style, but is much more akin to something like Game of Thrones than anything on Nickelodeon. Similarly, anime is just a graphical style and is used for titles across a wide variety of genres aimed at a wide variety of audiences. As for JRPG's and WRPG's, they really are quite unique (and are often unique within the subgenre). A strategy JRPG like Disgaea is much different from a first person dungeon crawler like Etrian Odyssey, and both are almost genres apart from a story based dating sim/turn based RPG like the latest Personas. For WRPG's, an isometric hack and slash like Diablo feels much different from an open world Bethesda RPG which feels much different from an homage to the mid-90's like Divinity Original Sin. What games in these genres have you played? I didn't see any on your profile and was curious why you said that there aren't major differences between WRPG's and JRPG's except where they are made. Stevieboy
This thread was supposed to be about the end of Xbox 360 consoles being produced not about which console was better, and as Parker had already warned people to keep posts relevant to the subject I have decided to lock this one up.
