GHOZTPRIME
I've always respected the fact that people have the time and dedication to sit there for hours and hours getting all these trophies, to see that platinum trophy on their trophy list. But why why do you platinum games? They don't really mean anything and you dont really get anything out of plat'ing a game. Do you just have too much time on your hands? Do you just want to have the highest trophy level out of all your friends? or Do you simply do it because you can't stand leaving games at anything less that 100%? I personally have only plat'ed two games; Terminator: Salvation and Resistance: Burning Skies. I did it because they were fairly easy and I enjoyed them. And they didn't require anymore than one sitting to plat. 1

With that said, I have had to ignore many a game that I do not have time to get all DLC trophies or grind 100 hours for the plat. I only do 100 hour plats if I really like the game such as Homefront or BF3 (P.S. You probably don't know this, so all my games are 100% legit no boosting or cheating involved). This is the reason that I am at 76% completion and not 99% like eburkulosis.

Popular Post Stevieboy
Ever since I started playing video games (which is over 30 years now ), I have wanted to see everything, do everything and collect everything a game has to offer. It's just in my nature to do that. Now that trophies have come along, I now earn trophies for doing things in a game I would normally do anyway plus a few extra I probably wouldn't . I don't necessarily have to platinum EVERY game I play as some are just to difficult or time consuming to do so, but I will try to earn as many trophies as I possibly can while doing so.
BrunoBomb
Well I win trophies because they make me see what I couldn't see in the game on other consoles, I mean. let's see inFamous 2, for thiose that know the game have that trophies to get the blast shards & the birds, if the game was on PS2, I would only play the story mode once. not twice to see how is the game in good and evil karma, and I wouldn'b have that electricity power if it wasn't the blasting shards, and knowing the backstory because of the birds. When I like a game I'll platinum it. Like NFS Shift, I tryed but don't like it, it will remain in my with the other games forever.

One of the biggest misconceptions of trophy hunting is that not everyone sits there for hours and hours to get a plat; People have lives and essentially play for an hour or two when they have it and then later go for the plat, plenty of people I know do this. Anyways, to answer the question: I plat games because I have the free time to and because they're games I have enjoyed. I'm not going to sit there and play a game that makes me want to blow my brains out but rather play a game that brings a smile to my face or has a story that has me emotionally engaged, etc. It also feels good to have an "accomplishment" persae and to look back and kinda laugh at that time you spent GRINDING out 1 million this or that. It's fun and a part of me, I'd say.
GeorgeGianno
Because simply i want to see everything in my favorite games,i did that in the past before trophies so i am doing it now,but saying again only in games that i like,so i choose carefully my games one by one. Some games cannot complete them, but i am not angry or whatever, because this is the different of fair players and cheaters, always have something to try or to give up and saying this is insane or diffficult or "no way"!! Crimson-Cobalt
I only platinum games that I love. Doesn't matter how hard or easy the trophy list is as long as I truly love the game I'm trying to platinum. Basically I platinum games just for the sake of platinuming good games. EDIT: To clear my point a bit. I platinum games which I would 100% complete anyway (even without trophies). Basically games I love. Pretty much this except for one thing: I love super hard games. I love a challenge. If a game is whooping my ass, I take that as a personal goal in what I'm doing to master it. In 25 years of gaming, I have yet to give up or fail at a single game because it was too hard. Whenever there is the possibility to do so, I 100% every game I've ever owned. I don't care if it takes a week or a year, it's getting done.
Tankor_smash
It is a lot of fun, plus I feel like I'm getting the most out of the game when I'm working on the plat.
Mophie13
I plat games as a sign on completing them. To prove I actually completed the game. It's easy back in the day to say "oh I completed this game 100%" but to actually show that to the world? Awesome.
liverpool12zzz
i always liked to 100% a game even before trophies were invented , i must have spent over 300 hours completely finishing final fantasy 7 100% , i just like to complete a game fully , if i dont like it though i dont bother . trophies are part of the game now and something to complete
Kyouko_Sakura
I platinum games if I enjoy playing them and as a way to prove I can still do something I enjoy as well as to taunt a relative of mine with our small rivalry, I also do it because I am currently unable to do any of my other hobbies which would otherwise be cutting into this time. MarkyPlanttroje
Not been gaming for long but it's a sense of pride I guess when the Trophy ding comes up. I wouldn't play a PS3 if it was not for trophies
xvart
I go for Platinums because of that idea of "mastering" the game. The game developers came up with these things to do to get the most out of the game. I like to feel like I did everything the game had to offer.
Rngesus37
Gives me a sense of accomplishment and gives me an incentive to 100% games I otherwise wouldn't. Though sometimes it's a pain in the ass. Like bolt farming the first Ratchet and Clank to get the bolt collector trophy when I've already done everything else in the game.
GamerJack21
As a hobby really. I work full time and enjoy going out with my girlfriend but when I'm in my room theres no stopping me from trophy hunting saved up for a year to afford my gaming setup, some expensive stuff out there that i just had to have! gjxlo
To be fair sometimes platting a game can be a grind or boring. However, I like the accomplishment for me personally. I like to be able to finish it and know that I am done with the game and can move on without thinking there was something left to do or finish. With that said I have given up on some games that were either over the top from a skill or time perspective, because sometimes it's just not worth it to me.
WOWJAREDISCOOL
Why do i get platinums? Well i only have 5 and the longest was 30 Hours. and i only do it on games i REALLY like or something easy like trine 2 that has a fun list. so why? Basically challenges to go for while playing,
DOC_BIZZY
Personally I go for the Platinum Trophy because other than beating a campaign or w/e, it's a challenge to complete everything about the game. I don't have that many platinums, but I only get them from games I really enjoy playing, except spare parts lol
mattmatt_
I became sick of buying games, finishing the main story in a day and then putting it down. I like the challenge of platinums, and it gives me a reason to get more out of a game.
