Personally, I'm rather psyched. I didn't know they were working on this game! :) Reminds me about a mix between old SNES and GBC era Zelda mixed with DeathSpank, though with more RPG elements. I guess there won't be an epic story? I got no idea, eastasiasoft usually focus on the gameplay, which they usually do rather well. Definitely getting this one, but I'm hoping there will be like a 30% off first week sale like they did with Rainbow Moon. That kind of stuff makes you want to purchase it day-one instead of waiting for a sale. ;)

Permadeath though?

EDIT:

The game will be 10% off for PS+ the first two weeks!

2nd EDIT:

They've posted a trophy list:

And they said on youtube it will have a platinum trophy! :D

I asked them on youtube if the game was going to have a release sale on PSN and what the story would be like or if they focused on the gameplay.

They replied:

It's 10% off for PS+ users during the first 2 weeks of release. It's very gameplay driven, Lost Sea is not a story focused game. Hope you will give it a try. :)

It seems they answered just as I expected! xD

I asked them if the game would have a platinum trophy.

They replied:

Yes, they do reply pretty quickly! :) That has been my experience in the past too. ^^

A couple of interesting/revealing trophies:

  • Complete the game in under 2 hours without warping.
  • Complete the game without recruiting any crew members.
  • Complete the game without unlocking any player skills or ship upgrades.
  • Complete the game without using any items.

Looks kind of interesting though I'm not a fan of procedurally generated content (or speedrun trophies). Nice of them to reveal the trophy list in advance :)

Yeah, procedurally generated dungeons aren't my favorite thing either, but it can work in a lot of cases. I will purchase the game though, and probably write a trophy guide for the game. xD

Don't know if you ever bought it, but it's on sale for 50% off this week :)

I bought it on 50% off, and I've been through it. Won't be getting platinum anytime soon, simply because I don't have the time for dedicating the PS4 to 6+ hours of gaming sessions.

I love the visuals but procedurally generated dungeons? Permadeath you say?  Did someone also said speedrun? That was enough for me to call it a pass.  Currently trying to get my head around tackling Little Nightmares Hard to the Core trophy, could not even start it and it has been 15 days since I last played that game to 99% - just one trophy that even has a trick to save scum its permadeath/speed run trophy, but I cannot just get myself to touch it... this would even be worse so yeah definitely a pass.

Currently £1.19 on the PSN Store, a beautiful game but very skill dependent and elitist... so sadly it is a no for me.
