Trophy Hunters Team League: Season Seven Underway!

Welcome to the Trophy Hunters Team League: Revival! I’ve heard people talking about wanting a team event on PSNP, so I thought it would be the perfect time to revive this league. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, here’s some history!

 

Legend of the Team League:

A long time ago, long before I even found PSNP, a man by the name MrCostari started up PSNP’s very first team league. People liked it at the time, but he eventually decided to step down and hand the league over to RachP13. The thread got discontinued before I really became active on the server, and it was apparently dead for a decent amount of time. In 2014, TheLastSurvivorD took over the team league and appointed me as admin. We had a pretty good first season, but then interest died out, so much so, that we never managed to have a second season. Now that PSNP finally seems to be interested in a team league again, I decided to recreate the league and make it the best Team League PSNP has ever seen!

 

Okay. Now that we’ve learned some neat history, let’s get into the rules, shall we?

 

  • Main Rules:
 
  1. Teams must consist of four players, no more, no less.
  2. Autopopped trophies are not allowed.
  3. Platinum trophies are worth 10 points. Any other trophy is worth 1 point.
  4. The Main Season will be 20 days, broken up into 4 periods of 5 days each.
  5. At the end of each period, players will have 4 hours to sync their trophies before benchmark scores are posted.
  6. After benchmark scores are posted, trophies yet to be synced from the previous period will no longer count.
  7. The timezone for this league is London GMT.
  8. If a player scores less than 20 points in a season, he/she will be private messaged. If the player is unable to respond within 48 hours, he/she will be unable to compete in the following season.
  9. Games with a 50th 100% completion time of under two hours won't count.
  • Point Bonuses
 
  1. Each period, one member of each team will be appointed Honorary Team Captain (HTC), who will receive double points for that period.
  2. Any one team member can only be HTC once per season.
  3. HTCs must be chosen 24 hours before the start of the period. Otherwise, they will be chosen randomly.
  4. If multiple team members earn the same platinum in the same game (can be different region or system), both members will receive a synergy bonus (x2, x3, and x4 for two, three, and four players respectively).
  5. If a player gets multiple of the same platinum with synergy bonus, all of the platinums earned will receive the same synergy bonus.
  6. There will also be a rarity bonus for each trophy (x1 for common, x1.1 for uncommon, x1.25 for rare, x1.5 for very rare, and x2 for ultra rare).
  7. Rarity bonuses are based on the rarity of the trophy at the end of each period (if you earn an uncommon trophy the first day of the period that dips to common the next day, it will be counted as a common).
  8. All bonus multipliers stack.
  • Challenges
 
  1. At any point during the season, a team can challenge any team they want for the remainder of the current period.
  2. The challenge can start and end at any point as long as it's within one period.
  3. Challenges must be approved by the current owner of the league and must include both HTCs.
  4. Teams can issue as many challenges as they want, but once one is accepted, they can only participate in that one challenge.
  5. Once challenged, the opposing HTC will be pm'd. If he/she doesn't respond within 12 hours, the challenge will be considered denied.
  6. If a team denies a challenge, they will not be able to issue one for the remainder of the period.
  7. The winner of a challenge can either take 100 points from the opposing team or make it so the losing team will not have an HTC the following period (conditions must be decided on before the challenge starts).
  8. If it is the final period, the prize for a challenge must be 100 points from the losing team.
  9. If the losing team has less than 100 points at the end of the challenge, they will give all of their points.
  • Faceoff
 
  1. At the end of each season, there will be a two-day rest period, followed by a Faceoff between the top four teams of the main season.
  2. In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by platinum count, followed by best period score.
  3. If there are ten or more teams competing, a fifth team may enter the Faceoff as a Wildcard.
  4. In order for a Wildcard to compete, the team must have the highest period score in any one period.
  5. If the highest period score for all four periods is held by the top four teams, there will be no Wildcard.
  6. During the first day of the rest period, second place must nominate two potential HTC candidates for the Faceoff, and third must nominate three. Other teams must nominate their entire team.
  7. Once HTC candidates have been nominated, the top team will have until 4 hours before the start of the Faceoff to nominate the HTC for each of the competing teams.
  8. Any missed deadlines will result in HTC candidates and HTCs being chosen at random.
  9. The Faceoff will be 24 hours long, and the top two teams will advance to the finals.
  10. All previous point multipliers apply.
  • Finals
 
  1. After the Faceoff, there will be a one-day rest period, followed by the Finals.
  2. The winners of the Faceoff will have until 4 hours before the start of the Finals to choose one of the following themes:

BATTLE ROYALE

 

Both teams will compete just like they were in a Faceoff, except this time, there will be no HTC. At the end of each day, the bottom two scores will be eliminated. This could be one member from each team or two members from a single team. This will go on until only one team is left standing. Also, if a player scores zero points in a day, he/she will automatically be eliminated in addition to the two people being eliminated that day.

1v1^4

 

Each day, a chosen member from each team will face off in a 1v1. No player can be chosen twice. Players can either be announced on the thread or messaged to the current owner of the league. Players don't need to be confirmed until the end of each day, but if a team fails to confirm a player, the player with the lowest score that day will automatically be chosen. For every day won, the winning team earns a point. The first team to three points wins! In the event of a tie, there will be a fifth day tiebreaker. If there is still a tie, main season tie breaking rules apply.

Faceoff mk.1000

 

Both teams will compete just like they were in a Faceoff, except this time, there will be no HTC. Instead of the Faceoff being for a set period, both teams will compete until one team reaches 1000 points. The first team to 1000 points wins!

Overtime

 

There will be a fifth period after the Faceoff with the remaining two teams. This period will be a normal five days, but the HTC will randomly switch every six hours. Each member of each team will have five chances to be HTC for a total of 20 HTC periods. In the event of a tie, main season tie breaking rules apply.

 

 

I know that’s a lot of rules, but most of it is pretty straightforward. If you wish to join the league, just leave a message in this thread. You can either gather a team beforehand, or you can ask to be put on the Bench and wait for someone to add you to his/her team. Here are the list of teams so far:

It's not my style to run a regular league. I need to have at least one interesting feature thrown into the mix for more fun!

Oh wow, you work fast. I read about a possible revival when stalking uh reading :ninja: the regular Trophy Hunters thread, but I had no idea it would go this fast (though I guess the first of August is a little while away). So put me on the bench please and thank you. (I need some friends...).

Well, I'm studying abroad right now, so I physically can't run the league until then, but then I thought this was a good thing since it usually takes a few weeks for people to find team members.

Oh wow, you work fast. I read about a possible revival when stalking uh reading :ninja: the regular Trophy Hunters thread, but I had no idea it would go this fast (though I guess the first of August is a little while away). So put me on the bench please and thank you. (I need some friends...).

I knew we were being watched, everyone in THL thought I was being crazy and paranoid :P

Is there a limit to the number of teams that can enter or a deadline for teams to enter? Apologies if you've written the info in the OP and I've missed it

There is no limit to the amount of teams, though I may make a cap later if too many teams enter without any more admins signing up (probably at ten teams). I want there to be a lot of teams so that even if a lot of people drop out, this league can still run smoothly from season to season.

 

There is no set deadline for teams to enter just yet. I'm thinking of making the deadline the second the season starts and just have incomplete teams either sit out or be filled by people on the bench.

Please put me on the bench.

 

Also, are there any restrictions to the games we play?

You can play any game you want. Repeat games on different consoles or regions are okay too. The only thing you can't do is autopop trophies.

No joke about proteinman. He'd leave a pile of bodies and destruction in his wake with double points and all trophies counting except autopops. I mean he puts up monster numbers in the THL and that's with half of his games not counting due to stacks or time requirements. If he joins, sure hope he's on my team.  :)

I mean he puts up monster numbers in the THL and that's with half of his games not counting due to stacks or time requirements. If he joins, sure hope he's on my team.  :)

Fun fact: When I was an admin for the team league in 2014, the team Protein was on pretty much destroyed everything in their wake. Protein alone scored higher than any other TEAM SCORE! If he joins, I'll feel bad for whoever has to count his scores (which will most likely be me).

Protein could go solo against all other teams, he'd probably still win.

Of course you get to choose team names! My team has narrowed it down to about 4-5 names, so that's why our team is Team 1 for the time being.

Is there any minimum post requirement or anything, because most of the people I'm considering don't really post here.
