AkimboJimboDEDK
I'm trying to get the servers online again for money as long as I can. But Sony has to agree. I'm already stying in contact with Insomniac Games, but Sony has the rights and I haven't got a no or a yes from Sony yet. Sony just say they have to ask some specialists. AkimboJimboDEDK
Sony has already set up servers again for other games for money where the publishers already took the servers down. Insomniac Games means it could need a patch to set them up again. But first do I need an answer from Sony.

hore
Nice idea. Any updates yet, or still waiting on those "Sony specialists"? I can't imagine something like this would be cheap.
Potent_Delusions
Ya know what....I'm going to go ahead and say it's GREAT to see another person go ahead and try to get a server back online that they are passionate about and not think "what's the point?". I'd definitely be behind this and i'd donate a good amount to this too. I'd like the plat for sure. I've been trying the same with Monolith Studios for FEAR 2 for nearly 1.5yrs now and I know how much of an uphill struggle it is to get any sense out of these guys. They think you have an alterior motive, they're busy on current projects etc etc. The best of luck, keep us all updated!
BIOHAZARD-R-US
Examples are? I'd like to know to. I can't think of any game that has had its online servers taken down completely, and then reinstated completely at a later date. Only one I can think of was GTA IV, but I don't think that was exactly like this game's situation

sidawg2
Those examples were because of GameSpy shutting down and it was a publisher decision to use alternative servers. Games like Resistance 2 are examples of a publisher deciding to end support and so you'd have next to no hope of it coming back.
skateak
The first Borderlands That was a Gamespy thing. It had nothing to do with Sony and it is unlikely they received money for the servers to be online.
Maceoo2011
Why not ask if they can upload a patch where you fight AI online ? That would be a more realistic way of going about it , without the company losing profits . I know your feeling though... did all mk vs dc trophies then got lazy with the online segment now the platinum is forever haunting me ?

Maceoo2011
It would still be cheaper than opening their servers back up for a few trophy hunters that missed out. Even move trophies that are no longer earnable to its own section making platinums obtainable again. PS3 will soon be a thing of the past , all servers will eventually go down in time . This is why online trophies are an annoyance , especially if the games online didn't succeed the companies expectations .
BIOHAZARD-R-US
We all know trophy lists can be patched, update, changed and altered in big ways. Hell, even games like Uncharted and World At War and others have had full trophy lists added, and same with any DLC pack. However, the only thing about removing the online trophies is that the game's point count will be decreased too much, so they can't be removed, only replaced. That means they need to create new trophies, design new trophy tiles, write and test new code to make sure they unlock properly, prepare a patch and pay for it, submit the updated trophy list and patch to Sony, and then send out the patch for everyone. It's probably easier than all that sounds, but I'm sure it'd still be time consuming, costly and ineffective for their development team by devoting a group to do all that.
