Popular Post Dragon-Archon
Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (Re:Zero Starting Life in a Different World), or Re:Zero for short, gets a visual novel game (and people didn't believe me when I said this would happen). It'll be developed by 5pb (known for VNs like Steins;Gate and Robotic;Notes). They did an excellent job with Steins;Gate, so I'm sure this game will be amazing too. The game will be released for the PS4 and Vita on March 23 in Japan. Here's hoping it'll be released in the west too. As of August 28th some info about the story has been revealed: the game will feature an original story that's different from the anime/light novel. The story sees a “Beauty Queen Election” carried out as a prelude to the “Next Ruler Election,” the winner of which is given a “noble weapon said to bring about good luck.” But the victory prize is actually cursed and afflicts Subaru with the “Curse of Death.” The only way to lift the curse is a “kiss from a beautiful girl,” so players will have to socialize with the heroines with the end goal of getting a kiss and escaping Subaru’s fate of death. The candidates for the “Beauty Queen Election” are as follows: Emilia, Ram, Rem, Beatrice, Felt, Priscilla, Anastasia, and Crusch. October 11th The Limit Edition has been revealed: 5pb. will release an 11,340 yen limited edition of Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- Death or Kiss alongside the 8,100 yen standard edition of the game in Japan, various retailer listings reveal. The limited editions differ per platform. Here’s what’s included: Limited Edition (PS4) Ram SD Figure Soundtrack Limited Edition (PS Vita) Rem SD Figure Soundtrack Additionally, early purchases of either release, be it standard or limited, will include the “Swimsuit Costume Change” downloadable content. Source If you haven't seen the anime yet, go watch it. Here's a synopsis: Suddenly, high school student Subaru Natsuki has been summoned to another world on the way back from the convenience store. With the biggest crisis of his life being summoned to another world, and with no sign of the one who summoned him, things become even worse when he is attacked. But when he is saved by a mysterious, silver-haired girl with a fairy cat, Subaru cooperates with her to return the favor. When they finally manage to get a clue, Subaru and the girl are attacked and killed by someone. Subaru then awakens in the place he was summoned and notices he gained the ability "Return by Death" and has become a helpless boy that only has the ability to rewind time by dying. Beyond the despair, can he save the girl from the fate of death? Link to the official site. Gage
I wouldn't expect a localization for this, not big enough in the west to warrant it yet. I'll play it just to have the trophies on my profile either way though.
Dragon-Archon
Why PS4 section when this is obviously Vita game? :/ I flipped a coin for the Vita or PS4 section... And this might be the only VN game i will own, when it releases in the west. Might get Steins:Gate at some point aswell. Definitely get Steins;Gate, it's a masterpiece. Though 5pb didn't come up with the Re:Zero story, it has some similarities with the time travel component from Steins;Gate, so I'm sure they'll do a great job with the Re:Zero game. I wouldn't expect a localization for this, not big enough in the west to warrant it yet. I'll play it just to have the trophies on my profile either way though. The anime seems really popular, so I really hope it'll be localized.

The anime seems really popular, so I really hope it'll be localized. Popularity of anime is only the first step to VN localization. Handling licencing issues is a bigger problem. NetEntity
Well, what else could this VN be? There are non-romance VNs besides the Spike ones! They exist, I'm sure!

Satoshi Ookami
Steins;Gate 0 is being localized, so I have high hopes for Re:Zero. S;G is already an established brand, since they saw the success of the original. Same as SAO.
Dragon-Archon
You know how to win me over. I'll at least check it out then. Ok . The first episode is an extra long 40 min pilot and it's for building the world and lore, so no deaths there. IIRC that starts in ep 2. S;G is already an established brand, since they saw the success of the original. Same as SAO. Stop trying to crush my hope or I'll have to call Munakata to take care of the despair . You should definitely grab yourself a copy for some Steins;Gate goodness aswell as the sequel coming out next month , Steins;Gate 0 . If you really want to get into VN , you should also check out Danganronpa series and my all time fav as EVA , Zero Escape series Back on the thread , for some coincidence started watching Re:Zero last night , currently on ep.6 and it's turning out pretty good so far . Might look up to this VN release when i finish the anime Edited August 25, 2016 by Jiaho24

Xx_ForTheSesh_xX
Same here . Maybe what they'll do is use the VN instead of a second season of anime. I mean, it's pretty much inevitable that there's gonna be a second season, since there are only 4 more episodes releasing IIRC.

It's possible, but somehow I think it'll be about season 1 with various endings. I'm calling it: ep 18 will be one of the endings where Subaru and Rem run away and end up living together like he wanted

Would be awesome if they released the last episode as 1hour special, like the first ep. PS. Patrasche route! ;d

Xx_ForTheSesh_xX
I think it'd be really cool if they implemented stuff about Puck being that huge monster you see in one of the episodes. It'd be cool to expand on his backstory imo. Edit: Didn't mean to quote you, oops. Edited August 25, 2016 by Chemergy

Here's hoping that's addressed before season 1 ends.
