Thought I'd just let people know about this.

 

There is an import save data option on the main menu, which may have left people suspecting it was save data from earlier versions or even the sequel (as it was made before this remake). Anyway you actually import your current save data and get to change all character creation except for the code name and yes this does include gender. The great thing about this is you can lock all your items to progress so your're not overpowered in new game plus fashion or you can straight up continue where you left off and just use this to change your character cosmetically which especially for the voice is a godsend as having a selection of 20 its hard to decide which actually sounds best in battle.

You can just scroll through the voice and sound effects and play them right in the menu.  You can play all the battle sound effects too, so there's no point in making a new character.
