Of course, this is 10 years later so I can't really say how much these issues would bother me today. The fact is, things change over a flippin' decade. You re-visit these old projects that might have looked good 10 years ago, and suddenly they don't look so good now. I would guess that this was part of the issue with FFXIII Versus Final Fantasy XV. Technology changes, style changes and even taste changes. I mean, I highly doubt that a team was working on these games for 10 straight years or anything. It was shelved as a project, and re-visited. Obviously, there are cobwebs, but I don't think these developers realize just how much might change in that interim.
