djperkyuk
So, I'm a 38 trophy Hunter. The wife doesn't mind so much but her mother has come to stay with us for a few weeks. She's only been here a day and I'm slowly being driven mad. Time on my Ps3/4 is virtually non existent. Maybe a break from gaming will do me good I suppose

Auto-Tomato
My mother-in-law caused an argument in a pub and half a dozen men set upon her and dragged her to the floor, screaming. The barman turned to me and asked "Aren't you going to help?" "Nah!" I said, "Six should be enough!" Les Dawson.
Shinobi
My mother-in-law caused an argument in a pub and half a dozen men set upon her and dragged her to the floor, screaming. The barman turned to me and asked "Aren't you going to help?" "Nah!" I said, "Six should be enough!" Les Dawson. I laughed way more than I should have at this. On topic, it shouldn't be too bad being away from gaming for a little while. I couldn't do it but I have faith in you! Parker
Fuck her, it is your house, do what you want to do. I may have a strong opinion because my mother in law is a literal piece of shit and made my and my wife's lives a living hell when we were younger. Also, this is where a Vita with remote play could come in handy. "Sorry honey, I don't know what I ate but it is going right through me!" Dragon-Archon
If your mother-in-law is as terrible as my mom, you have my sympathy. What, didn't you know? Escaping to the toilet is the longstanding, classic, mother-proof strategy! I and my brother use it every time our mother goes into her "super-nagging" mode. RabbiAndy
I'm the first to say this but stay off the games for a while and spend time with her. She may be a pain in the ass for whatever reason but some years down the line your mother in law and even your wife will appreciate that you were a human being for once instead of being glued to a gaming console.
TigressLion
I have the exact same issues, the in-laws don't know I game as much, they think it's close to non-existent. That's why I love my Vita, I'll disappear for spurts of time to squeeze in the Vita<3. EDIT: Yes, it is great to spend time with the in-laws but when they're there from 8am-10pm multiple days in a row, it's not inhuman to ask for 30 minutes to game-on. Dr_Mayus
Kill her stealthily. Make it look like an accident if you grind up glass very fine you can sprinkle it in the food and it will slowly choke the person to death...or so I am told
ProfBambam55
just put on some porn when you know she's around then quickly switch the channel to your console when she walks in...then gaming won't seem so bad...joking...i agree with spending time with the in-laws but at the same time don't see why you shouldn't be able to say "hey, i'm gonna hit up my console for a bit now" if that's what you want...my father-in-law passed away earlier this year so you never know how much longer you (or your kids should you have any) will be able to spend quality time with them...a break from gaming doesn't hurt either...up to you where your priorities are at...you haven't really said whether you two get along or not so difficult to comment on the situation...
Auto-Tomato
Really? No more mother-in-law jokes? Disappointed PSNP. Worth noting that an anagram of mother-in-law is...woman hitler!
Hemiak
I lucked the hell out with my in laws. They know I game and are cool with it. That being said I don't get up in the morning and spend the entire day in front of the TV even when they aren't there. It's work and family time until the kids are in bed then an hour or two watching TV or playing cards or board games with the wife. Then an hour or two gaming. So usually after the kids are down and we hang for a bit the M-I-L will say she's gonna do some reading and I'm g2g. Sometimes she'll end up watching if I've got something with a good story on. I've even gotten her and her husband to play once or twice. Usually just Guitar Hero or Rock Band, but hey, baby steps right?
