Any options to buy a "brand new" Vita?

GameStop would only have the Slim in stock new (possibly the aqua blue one). GameStop is pretty much the only retailer who has vita games in their store. Best Buy, Target and Walmart don't even bother with the system anymore. If you were to find an original new, which I like better compared to the slim, you'll basically only find that on amazon. It might be a slightly higher price than usual, but it's better than going to another game store that sells retro/imported stuff and pay $400 for one there.. lol.

Gamestop doesn't have them new, at least within a 100 miles.  Yeah, it appears amazon may be where I have to go, unfortunately... I really don't like Amazon, and I was hoping to trade some things in.

Edit:  How do I know if it's an original or slim?  If I'm going to order online and have it shipped I want the original.  I would have settled for a slim if I could pick it up fast, but now I want the original if its from Amazon.

Notice how the original has oval buttons for Start, Select, etc, while the slim has circular ones. The slim has a border around the screen and the original does not. The camera and speakers also look a little different.

Looking at the original really makes me appreciate what an immaculate machine it is.

Just a thought because this idea just hit my mind. I'm not even sure if we still sell them, but I remember seeing that we sold like amazon gift cards.. I'm not sure if the amazon kindle gift card or whatever was currency. Just thinking from the top of my head, if they have amazon gift cards there, you could always trade in your stuff and then purchase the gift card with your trade-in credit depending on if the card is still there and able to be scanned, money added to it and activated. I don't think there would be a problem.. I only know that you can't put the trade-in credit towards a visa gift card. Check with your local GameStop and see if they have the cards and if you could use trade-in credit to purchase the cards.

Edit: I'm pretty sure the same value in-store credit &cash promo is going on right now so just in case if they give you an issue, you could sell the stuff for cash and purchase the cards there or somewhere else because the value is the same.

jesus christ, i was off from work today and it sure as hell feels like i wasnt lmao

Original is a 1000 and the slim is a 2000 model number.

So is all 2000 models LED or is there still some that are OLED, because I been looking into getting the Glacier White one from Japan on ebay but it listed as OLED. :\ So confuse. White is nice but if not OLED, might not be worth it ><

I dont care for much battery life, besides 3-4hrs is plenty for me. I need that beautiful screen! hehe

Online shops have plenty.

Retail stores probably gave up on selling them, though.

Just got my OLED model Vita off ebay, It was in pretty excellent condition. Been testing running it the last 3hrs straight.. so far so good. Paid 133$ for it. Mainly because it was listed with either a 8GB or 16GB memory card. But seller lied... and it was only a 4GB. Hopefully she will partial refund me (or a bad review will follow..) .. so I can actually buy a new 8GB memory card at least, as they run around 25$?

8GBs are still pretty insufficient if you want to play digital games.

For the original I'd recommend one of these too:

BigBen-Interactive-Controller-Grip-PS-Vi

Excellent grip, unfortunately it has to be removed for charging, however apparently there's one for the Slim which can take the charger whilst on.   I have the original Vita and this grip, I'd recommend it, very comfortable.

Yeah I plan on just 3-4 games. Nothing crazy. Already have Ps3 and Ps4 games to juggle. Vita really is just for me to pass some time when on lunch break or even while working.

Yeah then in my Opinion even 8GN nis Enough are not many the games that occupy 3GB or around that Most of AAA games occupy from 1,5 to 2 GB so at least 3 could be on your Vita, then if you get bored and chance just copy it on PC to keep the save and everything and play a new one i do that :)

Honestly I think the grip is unnecessary accessory where I don't see the point of using a grip that is a portable along with it if you want to play games with it. Pretty much better to buy a vita cradle where its only original vita which is why OLED is by far better than slim.

If you don't pick 3-4 Japanese digital games, you will probably be okay with 8GBs.

However, Japanese digital games easily go over 3GBs ;)

All I say is 32 gb is the best option for you to get. Steep price but heck if you're the type of gamer to download games from psn mostly along retail games, then buy that.

Lesser than that I could say 16gb is better but you may face with low mb.

8gb and less is awful tbh.

Hey @RedMustang72 what grip is that ? Is it the Assecure Soft grip or Nyko Power Grip or something else ? I've been using the official sony grip (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Licensed-Trigger-Grips-Playstation/dp/B0072A4JVW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1476991973&sr=8-1&keywords=ps+vita+grip) for a few years now and I'm due to get a replacement (overuse) and wanted to get one without triggers for L1/R1.

I definitely agree with this. As I keep saying, 32GB is the best one you can get. But if ErgoProxy really wants to keep their Vita count on 3-4, I just confirmed 8GB could be sufficient.

It's BigBen Interactive that produce that exact grip, was years ago I bought it, can't see it on Amazon, but there are numerous listings like it.

I appreciate grips are all a matter of preference, and although this is a little bulky, just a little, for gaming on the go, it is very comfortable to use.   It feels like holding a dual shock, isn't obtrusive in any way other than the charger, and has a really nice smooth finish to it.   I'd wager the quality of the similar ones isn't too different.  As a tip, the Vita 'can' ever so slightly move, see-saw, in the grip, I used two short cuts of weather-strip, vertically, and it gives an ideal snug fit.   Don't use the Vita without it.  :)
