untuvakana
I have never played resident evil 4. Is this port worth buying?
MilanYildirim
Veterans say it is the best Resident Evil game ever so l would say yes if you're into that genre.
ONLINEGAMR360
If you haven't played before. Yes. But if you're more accustomed to modern third-person shooters. You might not like the fixed over the shoulder shooting in RE4. If you're a fan of the series. It' a must buy.
rdhight
I bought the 4, 5, 6 bundle. Started with 4 since Resident Evil fans seem to universally praise it. Hated the camera, controls, moving, shooting. Everything interactive felt subtly, but unbearably, wrong. Never made it past the first village. Moved up to 5, finding 5 a whole lot of fun. Taobaka
Hell yes it is. Could be me wearing nostalgia goggles, but it really was one of the best games when it come out. Not sure about PS4 port quality though. The only con is "Leon! Help me!"
B1rvine
Technically speaking, it may be slightly dated, but once you're used to the controls and camera, its an amazing RE game.
untuvakana
Thanks a lot. I think I will buy one then. I have a mindset that it's remastered and controls and graphics might be outdated so it doesn't bother me att all. I just missed the original cause I was minor back then and my mother was very strict and then I forgot all about it.
merciful84
I can't speak for the PS4 version, but when I played it on PS3, I thought it was just "ok". The game was decent but it just didn't live up to the hype of its legacy imo. I enjoyed the PS3 version of Resident Evil: Revelations so much more where it became my favorite entry in the series. dark69knight
For Me Its The Best RE Game Ever Although Its Not Scare Enough But Its The Best I Totally Recommend This For You Although It Dose Not Have Platinum
MMDE
RE4 never appealed to me, and RE5 and RE6 went further in that same direction with even more focus on action. RE4 is basically a mix between the old games and the newer ones. I guess if you like the older ones better, then do one of those like RE2 or RE3 or something, but if you like the newer stuff, maybe do something like RE5 or even RE6. Rick_Sanchez
RE4 is my favorite game in the franchise so it is worth checking it out. I just got it on the PS4 and I love it even more.
Neme-ita
If you love this series NO. Buy instead Rebirth or Zero or wait RE7 maybe is not RE like the old, but is not an action game like 4.5.6 the worst 3 titles of this series. Hanzoadam
Its great Though Id say its the begining of the end for resident evil
Gengarbey
To be honest it is almost unrelated with other RE games and different from them. But it's still a masterpiece. I say go ahead.
Bebop_Man
Old topic but for the record: RE4 is a fantastic game, the PS4 port is a bit... shoddy, in terms of polish, but not really a deal-breaker.
blake__306
I had fun replaying it on PS4 and unlocking all the trophies.

Darpiom
When I played this game for the first time in PS2, I couldn't believe it was real, it was a BLAST!! Its length, tension, graphics, sound, gameplay, everything was ahead of its time, thus it received highest grades from critics and became a genre shaping game especially with its combat and camera angles. But a few years ago, I played it on PS3 this time, I felt it overly outdated, finished it hardly and left completing it on hard once again to my brother for me (a thing very, very rarely I do).. It is hard to play this game after Battlefield 1 for example.. But if you'll play it for the first time I guess it will carry you to the end with its story and tension. No doubt about, it's a top quality game but outdated, maybe because how bad the port is as stated somewhere above. PS: I still think Code Veronica is the best in the series and I utterly enjoyed its PS3 port too with that old school controller scheme ? Winds-of-Neptune
The PS2 version was the best one. Controls were really good, not so tanky. This Ps4 version the controls arent the same. But the best one is set 1 IMO. This is one of them rare games where you never get bored playing through it. Probably cause there is a a bit of strategy involved.. It's not just a shooter. There are many dimensions to the game. It was ahead of it's time when it first came out. Z1MZUM
I payed this on the Gamecube back in the day, Got a hard copy on ps4 for $10. I can honestly say this hasn't aged well imo.
TrophyChief
Sacrilege! One of the must plays in the RE franchise. Too bad it doesn't have a platinum, but definitely worth playing.
Z1MZUM
I played the first 3 games and Veronica, so back in the day this resident evil was too different. Maybe if 4 was my first resident evil? I mean it's ok and I'll finish it.
Amonares
Absolutely. The game is a masterpiece.
xh117
It goes on sale a lot and it has a lengthy single player, definitely pick it up if you haven't played it yet. The no plat thing kinda sucks, hoping they do a remake with the new re engine and add the plat.
