DaivRules
They kind of are, PS4P and Scorpio are both apart of their respective families but they pretty much usher in a new level of gaming that the PS4 and XB1 cannot do. Well, they kinda *can*, just not with extra bells and whistles. The fact that Sony has said there are no Neo exclusives backs that up.
IMaySlayLizDaw94
This whole thing pisses me off Less than three years and already they're trying to make the PS4 owners obsolete Fuck this with something hard and sand papery
DEMON
I'll get the Pro when I see a gaming monitor that supports 4K + HDR, and by then the PS5 already came out. So why bother, not worth the investment especially if you own a PS4 already. If you buy a decent 4K TV, you won't really notice the difference with a monitor. Unless you're limited to space. PS5 won't be coming out anytime soon, I think Sony even said they don't care about making a PS5? That they are just going to upgrade what they have. I think they are trying to ditch console generations honestly. Buying a Pro on launch, the upgrade is definitely worthwhile to me since I have a 4K TV now.. plus I want to play FFXV in the best way possible before the PC version comes out at least. Honestly I thought ditching the console generation cycle was going to be Microsoft's strategy. Since the Pro is called PlayStation 4 Pro and not PlayStation Pro does suggest that they will make a PS5, and I hope they do though Can anyone confirm if frame-rates can be upgraded? Horizon, my man. There isn't anything else for me unless Warhawk gets a PS4/PS4P port. I can't confirm it for sure, but games locked at 30 will stay there (unless there is a PS4P Patch of course). Unlocked games will surely run better. They did confirm though that multiplayer won't run on higher framerates due to it being flagged as unfair compared to standard PS4 owners. Sony have stated that the PS4 Pro is not intended to blur the lines between console generations, and that it just serves to extend the current one. I believe Mark Cerny said this during the reveal of the PS4 Pro. I'm sure we'll be seeing a PS5 eventually, just not for a few years.
Sergen
I guess it's okay that I waited to play The Last of Us and Uncharted 4 now and I'll have a 2nd PS4 to help myself with the journey on TLOU anyway . But I would have liked to have seen the BioShock games take advantage of the PS4 Pro's 4K Resolution, it's not useless for me to get a PS4 Pro, I do have a 4K TV. I hope it actually improves the overall performance of PS VR, since I've seen people complaining about that recently. Batman: Arkham Knight is a very good looking game on the vanilla PS4, I wonder what that would look like with the enhancements that the PS4 Pro can make. Popular Post PooPooBlast
Everyone here is complaining about something and I'm just sitting here along with very few others excited for the launch of the pro. I don't have a ps4 yet so it's a perfect option for me even if I dont have a 4k TV. I can get at least 60 fps in some games and if not, some better visuals. If not, then I can enjoy more stable framerates at least and with the 1Tb HDD, I'm a happy guy. Don't need to install or buy one. 1tb HDD already costs $80-100 CAD and here a ps4 is $380 while pro is $499. So with a couple of extra bucks for more horsepower I'll be a fool to not take it. Valyrious
Not getting a PS4 Pro anyway.. Don't even have a 4K TV, let alone one with HDR10. I think this is horrible. How many people even DO have a 'compatible' 4K TV? Not the majority, that's for sure. The majority of the consumer base games on 1080p... So no thank you Sony. Sure there are some nice benefits on 1080p but do not justify the €400 price tag at the moment. They really made some bad decisions lately in my opinion... (Looking at you, Skyrim Special Edition PS4 Mods). Not very consumer-friendly. Give it a few years young one. 1080 has been around for a while, and you know how technology loves to advance quickly and dramatically. It won't be long before 2K and 4K become the new 1080. Once the 8K screens start dropping in price, that's when you'll see these expensive 4K screens drop even further. And they're cheap enough as is. $1500 for a 4K Sony screen isn't a lot. Honestly, I would wait for more media to support 4K. As it stands, there's not much. But that should change in a few years, especially now that studios are getting used to the requirements to pump it out.

With the way internet and cable providers have strangled data limits, I wouldn't be too hopeful. Only the richest of people will be able to stream very much 4K content because they will pay the premium for the higher data limits. That's not going to help make 4K mainstream. I wouldn't necessarily call it rich. My plan is $100/m and I get 100mbps and unlimited bandwidth. But obviously people with limits won't go near 4K streaming. One TV show will eat up your monthly allocation. But that's why you go unlimited.
DaivRules
$100 a month just for internet!!!! That's absurdly expensive to a lot of people. I pay $50 a month for 10 mbps to Comcast and I'm cut off at 1 Tb, raised from 300 Gb just last month. It's $10 per 10 Gb after that and that is standard for Comcast and at&t in the states. That's already absurdly expensive enough for what I'm getting and I live in a major metropolitan area. Unlimited in my area is $130 a month, but you must also lease their modem for $10 more a month. So it's $140 a month. Yes, I would absolutely call that rich. I wouldn't necessarily call it rich. My plan is $100/m and I get 100mbps and unlimited bandwidth. Well to be fair, he's probably talking about Canadian currency so in US dollars it'll be a little bit cheaper, but nonetheless you're right. It is still expensive, but hey, you can't get that much speed and unlimited for a lower cost.

I got rid of that nonsense years ago. For what I do, $100 a month for internet is extremely worth it. It's a nice feeling when you have people over and you can a room of people watching Netflix, another room of people streaming a live event, someone downloading a game, and then others generally browsing the internet on their phone, and there's no virtually no lag for anybody. That's why it's worth it to me. Not that I have a party full of fuckheads every night, but when I do, at least people can do whatever the hell they want, and enjoy themselves. ...I guess it's great for my private time on Pornhub too.
AffectatiousDonk
I'm happy with the lineup, predominately getting Pro to improve the PSVR but many of those titles I have but am still yet to play. That's what's being said. We can probably expect this on old releases but with newer games, I could bet on Pro having the edge despite all claims against it. JapanimeGamer
I wondered why The Last of Us got a rather random update recdently when i turned on my PS4, might have been to do with the PS4 Pro. I think I will hold off on the single player of TLOU until I get a Pro now as it may well look even nicer Edited November 5, 2016 by JapanimeGamer
