I have equipped the best weapons and accesories for them. All roles are level 5 (maximum). I have equipped gold watch too on lightning and still got no rating My target time is 30 seconds and i just beat this crap on 45 seconds and still got nothing. Infected Elite Posted November 12, 2016 Share Posted November 12, 2016 this is seriously super easy, most people get it without trying. i got it on my first attempt. orphan is easy. use 1 med, 2 ravs, once he uses his opening atteck use med med med to heal then go rav rav com and stagger then kill him. he transforms to the other form, just go rav rav rav and stagger then keep rav rav com until he is about 700% bonus stagger or higher, go com com rav and wipe him. If I'm not mistaken, The stronger your characters are actually makes it harder to earn a 5 star ranking on some battles in FFXIII. (Iffffff my memory serves me correctly, but don't quote me on that as it has been a while.) This causes the time requirement for said ranking to drop. This is why it is easier to 5 star Orphan the first time around before you are able to fully upgrade your character. Still, for the second form, (again, if I remember correctly) I used Sab/Sab/Syn until I got haste on everyone then I switched to Sab/Sab/Rav until Orphan was staggered (debuffing helps a great deal and make sure you are the character that can caste haste as that is the only buff you'll need) then you can switch to either Rav/Rav/Rav or Rav/Rav/Com. A fully upgraded Genji glove for all characters is also very helpful and allows you to shred this guy when he is staggered and of course, the Gold watch leveled to max will be necessary since your characters are maxed. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If your still unconfident Finish Cie'th stone Mission 64 to get Goldwatch to increase your time limit. It doesn't matter if you get 1-4 star on the first, what matter is you get the 5 star rating on the final form. Yes, the stronger your characters are, the less time it gives you to earn the 5 star. In addition to this, I believe maxed out weapons will also be your downfall. Lightning, Hope and Fang are a great team for this, with the following paradigms: 1: Commando / Ravager / Commando 2: Ravager / Ravager / Commando 3: Commando / Synergist / Saboteur 4: Medic / Medic / Sentinel - Optional Start off the fight with paradigm #3. Hope should give you Haste and Protect, while Fang proceeds to cast Deprotect, Deshell and Imperil. These are all you should need. After that, switch to paradigm #2 and begin to drive up the stagger bar to near full, at which point you'll want to switch to #1. Although both Lightning and Fang can use Launch on Orphan, it will still attack regardless I got it in the second time, so keep going .. Edit : you can retry EVERY form ! Zolkovo Posted January 23, 2018 Share Posted January 23, 2018 I'm not sure whether it has something to do with scaling but I managed to get 5 stars on all 3 phases of this fight with severely under-levelled characters and piss poor equipment/accessories on the very first attempt. Debuffs are OP in this game, and buffs are useful too although not sure if needed other than haste. The paradigms I used were as follows with Light, Vanille and Hope in that order: Relentless Assault - Commando | Ravager | Ravager Tri-disaster - Ravager | Ravager | Ravager Smart Bomb - Ravager | Saboteur | Ravager Rapid Growth - Synergist | Synergist | Synergist Discretion - Commando | Medic | Medic Salvation - Medic | Medic | Medic Most of those are the default primary roles, with the only exception being Synergist for Light and Vanille and that's probably not needed either. Ultraxian Posted March 12 Share Posted March 12 (edited) I'm having alo of trouble with this on a alt account. I've got maxed out crystariums and maxed tier 3 weapons and gear and even with the gold watch my target time is 39 seconds on orphan my best time is 34 seconds if I get a perfect 1 stagger kill and the only way I'd be able to beat that time is if I get lucky with random instant chain on my first attack but even then that's a 0.05% proc chance.
