DannPS
Hi, I have just bought a ps4 pro and in my original ps4 I have 2tb. I want to put that 2tb into the ps4 pro. I know I have to have the latest update installed on a usb and then put that into the ps4 pro and the usb will then be recognised, but it says the usb can't be found or an error code pops up. I have downloaded the update from the correct site and everything. Does anybody have any suggestions or is anybody in the same situation. Thank you for your replies. FilmFanatic
When putting in a new HDD to a PS4 you need to install the Operating System not a update. Go here and scroll to the bottom. https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/system-updates/ps4/
DannPS
That's the download I keep doing and it still won't find it. I am trying it on internet explorer because some people say google chrome is buggy.
viceforce
Perhaps the pro has a different method of update.
AffectatiousDonk
I'm going to follow this with interest, have a 2TB and 4TB in other PS4's but I have decided to leave my Pro as is until I hear more about upgrading HD
Stevieboy
What is your USB stick formatted to? I don't think the PS4 can read it if it's NTFS. It'll have to be FAT32 (exFAT might work too). Edited November 12, 2016 by Stevieboy
Cuddlez90
Maybe this will help. Don't know if you have those folders made and the other stuff it says. https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/system-updates/ps4/#newinstallation

All you need is a USB drive formatted in FAT32 or exFAT and follow the instructions the link I posted. I know it works as the first thing I did with my Pro was chuck in a 1Tb solid state hybrid drive.

Sounds good, will look into it, at the moment I'm only using it as VR machine and for handful of 4K supported games I have. But it's going to be more of an issue into next year no doubt
DannPS
It's all done now. Thanks for your replies. For anyone who is having the same problem, on the USB drive under the "UPDATE" folder I named the update "PS4UPDATE" not "PS4UPDATE.PUP" Hope this helps anyone who is in the same position i was in.
