Alright, so I did some testing with this game and its most infamous trophy and the experience beared some fruits. It's important that you read first the original thread here, all credits belong to crisding89 for finding it out and confirming that it worked. Without him, we would probably be in the dark until this very day.

 

While I could post there like I did before, I don't wanna go through the frustation of having my post being ignored like it was and having people asking what was already answered, so I chose to make another thread more detailed about this. Make sure you read it all before asking anything or your question should be downright ignored.

 

First of all, you need to find someone who last played this game online in april 2012. It doesn't help much because people might have earned trophies offline since then and still be in the challenge wall to be beaten (but you can't even know that unless you add random people)*, as much as people can last have earned their last trophies before that and played online after without earning any trophies, but still getting wiped of the challenge wall.

You can be 100% sure that people are unavaiable to give you this trophy if they earned 2 of the online trophies after the shutdown (Honor Upheld and Scored!). Since you don't actually need to play a game to earn Throwdown, having that trophy doesn't actually prove that the person is uneligible, but I wouldn't try anyway.

 

To find suitable people for this trophy, it's greatly recommended that you use the leaderboards page and scroll through it until you find people that looks like this or earlier (aka mid february or january):

 

Now that you are skimming through the leaderboards looking for people, look for suitable gamers. Those are obvious people that played any games in the past month and people who earned a vita exclusive trophy in the past 6 months. Anything longer than that, I wouldn't even bother trying, but it's up to you how you want to spend your time or how desesperate you are.

 

Write a nice message to those people, don't simply add them with a blank friend request. I don't know if you are the kind of gamer that accept those, but a lot of people don't, Tell them you are after an extremely rare trophy* and most of the ones that accept you are going to be eager to help.

*in the spoiler below, it's the message I copied and pasted to everyone I added (through my ps3 because vita can't copy shit):

After you add dozens of gamers and get accepted by a few of them (believe me, I added around 100 and more than a month later, only 40 accepted me. The rest either rejected or left it pending), open the game and see if they show up on the challenge wall, it should look like this somehow:

If you see anyone (other than yourself) on this screen, you are much closer to this trophy that you might imagine. Message the people you see on the wall and ask them if they still have their vitas and the game. The game was given free on PS+ a few months ago, so I imagine that a lot of people might actually have it now. If they don't, be prepared to send them some cash to buy the game, in case you can't convince them to buy it themselves. If the player you found don't have either the vita system nor the game, you are probably S.O.L.. Move along, move along. Delete those people (and everyone else that accepted you but doesn't show in the wall) and keep trying. Trust me, it took me weeks to find a suitable player and then I found ryansvader by accident when I wasn't searching. Since I got the trophy with him and as I mentioned on the very beginning of this topic, he is unable to help anyone to earn the trophies, so don't bother adding him or anyone else you see in this thread, you are wasting time.

 

When you finally find someone that has the game and the system, it starts the final steps for this trophy. I'll put a miniguide with all the possible outcomes below, check that carefully and if something isn't clearly explained, ask here and I'll edit it.

 

Step 0: see if the person has a savefile for the game.

• The person has the savefile either locally (physical copy and never deleted it in the past years) or digitally (PS+ backup, but highly unlikely). If so, ask the person to check OFFLINE. Activate airplane mode for this, it's extremely important that the person doesn't play online yet or he/she will get wiped from the challenge wall and you are back to searching someone else. By now, you should already have looked the person's scores and found one that is easily beatable by your group, ask the person to check if he/she has such stage unlocked or the person won't be able to play the challenge you send them. Think like this, he can't play a challenge for a level that isn't unlocked in his savefile. In case the person doesn't have the stage unlocked yet, read the point below.
• Person doesn't have his savefile anymore or has it, but doesn't have the desired level unlocked. Fear not, tell the person to switch airplane mode on and play (getting only bronzes is good enough) until such stage is unlocked. Then tell the person to close the game and deactivate airplane mode again. The person is now ready to help with this.

Step 1: Ready your group to the challenge.

Beat the desired score by the lowest ammount possible. It might be necessary for your group to wipe your savefiles (deleting the bubble when physical version, deleting the whole game on digital version). Make sure everyone backup their savefiles before wiping them, specially if this isn't their last trophies. You can use the content manager to backup your savefile to PC or the PS+ cloud to upload it online if you are a member. Look the example image above, ryansvader's score was 28000 and I did 28250 and let the enemies kill me. Every person in the group need to have the required score before the process starts.

 

Step 2: Grouping up to challenge the suitable player.

Your group will now be able to start challenging the suitable player. I say group because me and my group confirmed that one suitable player can help as many people as he wants AS LONG AS THE FOLLOWING STEPS ARE FOLLOWED TO THE BONES. Don't be greedy, if you find a suitable player, ask him how many people he can help and invoke as many trophy hunters as possible, this trophy is a m01&3r/u¢k1n* b1t#*.

If you find a suitable player, feel free to post below and invoke other players for this. IF YOU JUST NEED THE TROPHY BUT DIDN'T FIND ANYONE, USE THE FOLLOW THIS TOPIC ON THE TOP RIGHT CORNER TO GET NOTIFICATIONS WHENEVER SOMEONE FINDS A SUITABLE PLAYER. DO NOT POST BELOW OR YOU ARE JUST GETTING IN THE WAY OF PEOPLE THAT WANNA HELP!

 

Step 3: Challenge time.

Now one by one, your group is going to send the challenges and no one can let their vitas go into rest mode (aka black screen). Make sure you go to the vita settings and turn powersaving to 60 minutes, but don't forget to touch the screen every now and then to make sure it won't go to rest mode. Make sure you follow the example below to the bones.

 

• Suitable player (SP): Waits first challenge with the game completely close and vita online (not on airplane mode). Use the MESSAGES APP to accept the challenge, the game will then start and put SP into the challenge. He can take his time, there is no time limit and failing has no negative effect, you can just press restart and carry on from the beginning. DO NOT PRESSURE THE SP, HE IS DOING YOU A FAVOR, LET HIM TAKE HIS TIME! SP can restart if he scores lower than required or fails (dies/runs out of time). He can retry as many times as he wants.
• Trophy hunter #1 (TH1): Send the first challenge and wait on the challenge wall screen until SP beats it. It's extremely important to not the let the vita die (run out of battery), go idle (prevented by the above) or leave the challenge wall (check the screenshot above, stay at that screen as long as SP needs).
• Trophy hunter #2 ad infinitum (TH∞): Waits on the challenge wall like TH1 until it's his turn to send a challenge. Don't send a challenge until it's your turn!

 

• SP beats the challenge from TH1. There will be a screen just like below, SP must then press the button to return the challenge and wait a confirmation for TH1 receiving it. When that is done, SP will completely close his game again and wait the next challenge on the MESSAGES APP, where it will accept the next challenge and beat it again. After the second challenge is sent back, SP closes the game again and waits on the MESSAGES APP again until he has received a challenge from all players from the group and returned the challenge to them. After last challenge is sent, SP can quit the game and everything else, he is done.
• TH1 after receiving the notification of new message (SP's challenge), wait for the game to glitch for a second and then back out to main menu. The challenge should show up there just like in the Screenshot #1 below. Click the shield to defend your score now, you can score any value you want as long as it's higher than what you received to beat. Again, take your time to get the trophy, you can fail as many times as you want as long as you don't quit the game. I don't know what happens if you disconnect from PSN, but you are better not running that risk. When you beat his score and you are taken to the winning screen, WAIT until the trophy pops like in Screenshot #2. It takes about 5 seconds to happen, you might think it glitched out, but it didn't. Don't panic and don't leave this screen until the trophy pops. Don't challenge SP back when you are at this screen, it's a pure waste of time. After TH1 gets his trophy, he should leave the group alone for better organization, since he doesn't need the trophy anymore.

• TH2 ad infinitum repeats TH1's steps. Next player sends the challenge and everyone waits until SP beats such challenge and send it back to the player who sent it. Wait until SP closes the game and then the next player in line sends a challenge, everyone else keeps waiting for their turn until the last player has received his challenge.

N.A.B.Q. (Never Before Asked Questions):

1. Can everyone send the challenge at once? Yes, but that might glitch the challenges that show up for SP. You are better taking the safe route and do it one by one. There is really no point in doing all of them at once as he can only work on one challenge at a time.
2. Why does SP needs to close the game after every challenge? We did the other way and it didn't work, either the challenge disappeared or it wasn't playable. Trust me and do it the safe way, there is absolutely no point in rushing this, everyone will get their trophies if the steps are followed.
3. Why staying on the challenge screen while waiting your turn/your challenge to be sent back? Well, you never know what might happen to the host. The game might crash upon him, he might quit the challenge by mistake, the challenge might never reach him, the challenge might be broken, etc. There are many things that could go wrong and by staying at the challenge screen at all times, you ensure that you can send another challenge to him as soon as he reports whatever might have happened to him. Bettter to be safe than sorry.
4. I backed up to the main menu before the glitch happened and my challenge never showed up and now SP also isn't on the challenge wall anymore. What can I do? While still on the main menu, open the challenge wall once more and then back out to the main menu. If the challenge doesn't show up for you know, open the MESSAGES APP and try finding the challenge there. If the challenge is there, quit the game (like SP always does) and open the challenge that way. If the challenge isn't there or opening the challenge from there didn't start the challenge level, I'm sorrry but you are S.O.L.. Good thing is that this never happened, so don't worry, it might never actually happen anyway.
5. I got my trophy, but I don't wanna leave. Is that okay? Yup, you can do that, but let people know that you are done and you are just staying there because you wanna make them company/give them moral support. You can give some tips that helped you if you want too.
6. What is the best way to organize everyone together? Well, I used party chat to organize this and it went alright even though 2 people didn't talk at any moment. You can use any other apps like discord if you want to or use PSNP's group messaging to talk to everyone. If you have another system to use (other than the PS Vita) you can use it to send group messages to everyone.
7. When can I start looking for Suitable Players? Well, as soon as you think you have enough stages beaten to make people show up in the wall. Theorically you can start looking for SPs as soon as you beat the first stage, but I highly recommend for you to wait until you beat the second world, at the very least.
8. What is the BEST type of stage to send a challenge for? Any stage that doesn't have a limited score amount. In the screenshots you see that my group did Rolling Pastures, but that was because the space between SP's score (28k) and the max score (33k) was big enough that we all could easily get higher without trouble. If that same situation happens to your group, don't be afraid of taking the opportunity. Since you should have wiped your score for this, it makes necessary 99% of the time for you to play the level you gonna challenge SP for, what means you gonna have some experience with it. Remember that you wanna make SP have the least ammount of effort possible to help you.
9. What is the WORST type of stage to send a challenge for? Hands down, any stage that is based on moving your vita around to balance the character on a flat surface. The stages with VR (Botz invasion per example) and the ones you go down a hole after stars and to disarm a bomb are okay. Levels that you move your character using the touch pad are greatly recommended, the singing stage is also really easy if everyone uses a frequency app or website to cheat your way through it.

It absolutely wasn't your fault and that failed run totally helped in the writing of this game. Without that, I wouldn't know that SP needs to have the stage unlocked to play challenges on it, neither that sending multiple challenges at once bugged up SP's challenge. Trust me when I said that 'failed' run was more helpful than a waste of time.

Actually, I totally forgot to mention, I do have 2 other IDs ready for this (they were ready before and I found ryansvader by accident and got everything done with him). One is needing some time to focus on this and the other is just waiting for the game to arrive (bought another copy online). Happy you got it done and we all gotta thank @crisding89 before anything else because he was the one to find it, I just upgraded the method. As Maximus said, you should be a possible carrier if you never played the game after that day. If you do, I think @Gage and @reckscollie are still needing the trophy, so you might be able to help both with it.
