PSA: This game has NO AUTOSAVE

This game only saves when you do so manually (from either the pause menu or the 'you died' screen). This includes after the final boss. If you want to get multiple endings (and their trophies) in the same run, SAVE MANUALLY BEFORE YOU FIGHT THE FINAL BOSS or you will lose potential hours of progress (I hadn't manually saved since the middle of the third dungeon).

Additionally, when you're going through the 'hard mode' run DON'T SAVE if you die to the last boss (the game will prompt you to save, close the game and restart) so you get all your heart refills and invincibilities back. I went through the final dungeon so I didn't need bombs anymore and emptied that bag then stocked up with 2 invincibilities and 3 heart refills. I saved the invincibility for her final attack phase.

 

You might want to try the fight a first time without spending any consumables and save when you die then when you get back to the final boss you won't have to go through the lengthy chat.

LOL. When I played on PS3, I made just this mistake. I almost lost heart and quit right there.
