Winter Backlog Challenge (December 15, 2016-February 28, 2017)

I've earned all the trophies in Knot and updated my initial post. It's a decent puzzle game with an easy trophy set, especially if you use the glitch to skip through the levels

Updated my list as I have now completed Arcade Game Series: Ms. Pac-Man. Not too different from the original but has more mazes and a great colour palette. I think it's an easier game too or I've just gotten better through practice. Great arcade classic

So hopefully this time around I can complete more than just 2 games on my list. Still gonna go for the maximum 15 too. Here it is....

Okay, I know I have the Platinum Rain to worry about, but I think I can squeeze into this.

 

My Backlog List:

1. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Remastered (plan on giving this to my gym trainer this Christmas but I can buy another) (9%; 7/54)
2. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Remastered (0%)
3. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception (0%)
4. Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 (13%; 9/45)
5. LittleBigPlanet 3 (14%; 6/38)
6. Song of the Deep (15%; 3/10)

I also have Disgaea 4 for Vita at less than 20%, but it'll take forever to get any trophies(haven't cleared Chapter 4 yet). Also might remove LittleBigPlanet 3 because for some reason the trophies for hearting a community adventure and playing through a community adventure haven't popped even though I did those things. (I've hearted three community adventures and played through two!) If someone could PM me and tell me what I am doing wrong, I would be grateful.

I'd like to change up my list, please. Here is the new list:

1. Putty Squad (0% - just bought it)
2. inFamous Second Son (0% - just bought it)
3. Knack (0% - just bought it a while ago)
4. Song of the Deep (15% - 3 out of 10)
5. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Remastered (9% - 7 / 54)

I have my reasons for this change up: Trying to platinum all three Uncharted remasters in three months is a nightmare(considering that I am having trouble with the firefights in the first one already) and I have never played an inFamous game before so it's going to be a bit tricky for me to get every trophy in the game.

These games I know I can platinum in two and a half months. I may add another since Putty Squad and Knack are easy.

That's fine. Just know you have to remove it if it hits 21%.

I thought we were playing these games to completion. I didn't add a new game, I was updating one I had already added.

Yes, but the official start date isn't for another week. One of the rules is that you can only add games that are at 20% or less.

Sorry, should've been clearer. It's fine to play it before it starts, but if it goes above 20%, you have to replace it.

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (2%)

I'm taking baby steps, I don't think I could get 100% in Dark Souls 2 and Red Dead Redemption within 3 months

Okay, here is my final list before the start date. I haven't gotten some of the games on this list but I am going to GameStop now to get them. I'm doing something I call "The PIKACHU Project" where I platinum games in an order where their titles' starting letter would form a word and doing them in that order in order to set goals for myself during this event. The list: (I know the C is missing - I am still working on that.)

I doubt you'll fail that hard - I platinumed World of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest Builders, though I did it with the opposite versions you're using. I did try out the Vita version of WoFF and really hated it - they added a five second intro to battles which makes the battles last forever and the graphics are a bit lower quality. If you want to PM me, I can look up the Youtube site which has videos for making the speed run challenges in Dragon Quest Builders easy as hopecake.

 

Since it's already the beginning of the event, I might as well put my update up, which isn't much - the games will be worked on in order, although I might just change it to each game per day to cycle through them really fast.

I went with macy113's excellent guide on Second Son and decided, since I am a nice person in RL, I would do the Evil Path first to get it out of the way. I swore I would hate this game because it was really gritty and dark, but I was pleasantly surprised. Working on Easy difficulty to get used to the controls when I have to do this on Expert - man, the enemies are really tough even on Easy. I died a couple of times. Already cleared most of the districts on the North Side and the district showdowns weren't that difficult. Already at Level 4 in Evil Karma, creepy how the symbol changes.

 

I managed to get all the collectibles so far because the map shows you where they are. The only side-quests I hate are the Secret Agent ones; if they spot you they run like hell and it takes forever to catch up with them, even with unlimited run. I try to snipe them with a missile attack when I find them.

 

Great game, though.

I'm suffering a headache but finally completed the Evil karma playthrough of Second Son. Very grim, but thankfully I had a nice commentated walkthrough to listen to while following it. I'll hold off on the playthrough until the next cycle because I need to forget all the stuff I had seen.

 

Will be playing Knack next, probably tomorrow because I'm so tired and need a shower and nap right now. Peace out.
