No sprint

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know exactly why Naughty Dog simply refuses to put the ability to sprint in the Uncharted games? I'm currently on chapter 19 (exploding mummies) on Crushing, getting my ass kicked by the explosions because 1) I can't sprint and 2) he won't roll after an explosion. He just sits there and gets blown up.

I love the Uncharted games, but I hate not being able to sprint. I can't see why they couldn't use R3 for it.

Because you don't need it. Like, plain and simple yo. The game is already fast paced enough really.

Like, not to be a dismissive asshole or anything, but like, the game just wouldn't be better for it, or at least I don't see any benefit. The game's are already a walk in the park (everyone says number one on crushing is the hardest and I cruised through it the other day no problem, got the whole bloody platinum in around 11 hours game time, I don't know if that one counts clips as game time as well or not, but it was quick) and they only seem to get progressively easier. If the room with the mummies is the only, even remotely, challenging part of the game then the game is a box of piss because I died a few times but then moved right on without any problem.

Again, not to be a dismissive prick, I don't mean to be, but I just don't see any benefit in effectively removing the one part of the game that provides even a little challenge.

I've only just realised now that there's no sprinting in Uncharted :P Being honest I don't think I've ever felt the need to.

Yeah, I also only just realized. I guess everything was already paced very well so I wouldn't even need the option to sprint.

I don't know if you ever held a gun by yourself but usually they are heavier than it seems so sprint like the other games was kind of unrealistic actually, anyway I didn't find it too hard, just deal first with the guys that may throw at you anything that explode, they are the most dangerous, I know what you are talking about, being blown up by a grenade launcher and staying some time on his knees or something right?

You use the left stick to control speed and a button isn't really necessary in these games. The thing U4 was missing the most was you couldn't toss back grenades or counter melee attacks like you could in U3 thats what I don't get.

Glad I'm not the only one who was wondering about that. There were many times I'd love to have been able to toss back a grenade or five hundred.

Yes!

Maybe it wouldn't have bothered me if I played 4 first, but going in order, it just feels trollish to me that they give you the grenade throwback in 3 and take it away in 4.
