The Vita has no games? Sure it has, just see!

 
 
Some weeks ago dmsleight opened up a thread about the Vita's upcoming 5th birthday. In Japan it is on December 17th, and in the american and european regions on February 22nd.
It's actually a day to celebrate but somehow the Vita never had a real chance and Sony more or less forgot that the Vita exists. But we all know that it's a great system with a nice (yet niche) games selection and a vocal and loyal fanbase. And with the upcoming 5th birthday I want to show that the Vita is still strong and beloved by many people by celebrating this special day.

 

 

How to celebrate Vita's birthday?
I want to host an plat/100%-event in the spirit of the Platinum Rain Day or the events Rach posted (like the Candy Rain or the Non-Violence Day). The event is solely focused on the Vita and it's game library to prove that the Vita ain't dead and "Vita has no gamez" is a hoax.
Goal of the event is that each participant earns at least one plat or gets the 100% in the base game (for games without a plat) for at least one Vita-game on the February 22nd 2017. Nevertheless you can earn as many plats or complete as many games as you want on that day.
If you want to join, just leave a post in this thread. You don't have to decide for a game just yet if you aren't sure which one to choose. If you post your progress in this thread I will try to keep track of it. There's no requirement to use a specific format, though.

 

 

Rules

• The event day is February 22nd 2017 in your local timezone.
• The allowed timeframe is 12:00am to 11:59pm (00:00 to 23:59). Again, your local timezone matters.
• It's not required to name a game right from the start if you want to join
• Minimum number is one finished game (plat or 100% in the base game). You can pop as many plats or get as many 100%s as you want, though.
• All trophies have to earned legit. Hackers aren't welcome!
• Only games that were released on Vita can be chosen.
• Both games with a Vita-only or a shared trophy list (e.g. PS3 & Vita) qualify. If it's a shared list, you have to play the game on the Vita, though.
• Cross-Save is allowed but not encouraged. You can load your Cross-Save of games like Sound Shapes, Motorstorm R/C or Senran Kagura: Estvial Versus on the Vita and earn a quick plat to enter this event but this would ruin the fun of playing the game on the Vita, wouldn't it?
• The last trophy of a game has to be earned on the deadline (--> February 22nd).
• You can switch the games at any time. Just inform me about changes if you want me to keep track of your progess. =)

 

And most importantly:
This is NOT a competion. It's an event solely for fun (and the Vita, obviously)! 

 

Questions that may occur

Why February 22nd and not December 17th?
Although the Vita's game library has a high focus on japanese gems games and it's most popular in Japan, I still consider the western release date of the Vita as more important for a western-orientated site like PSNProfiles. Still feel free to pop some plats on the japanese birthday of Vita. If you decide to celebrate that day, you will be added to the specific section of this thread

 

What to do on February 22nd?
Once the clock hits February 22nd you are allowed to earn the remaining trophies. The allowed timeframe is 12:00am to 11:59pm (00:00 to 23:59) in your local timezone.

After you finished popping your trophies report either here in this thread or in the Most Recent Platinum, or the Post Your Newest 100%-thread. You can either post a simple list of your plats popped or you can elaborate your post by mentioning your favorite aspects or the things you disliked about the game you chose. It's up to you.

 

What games are eligible for entry?

Each game that was released for Vita, no matter what it is. Both games with plats and games with 100%-only are equal in this event. If's only required to get all trophies in the base games. DLCs aren't required (also see the next question).

 

How are DLCs handled?

You don't have to buy and complete any DLC. Like mentioned above you only have to complete the base game to make it eligible for the event. Still you are allowed to finish those, too. And if you already completed the base game, then you can still add the game to the list when there are still some DLC-trophies left to earn. But if you want to add a DLC-focused list, it only counts as achieved if you earned all DLC-trophies.

 

Any reward?
Ehm, no? It's an event solely for fun and celebrating Vita-tan.

Giveaway

I will pick five random people who successfully finished a game on February 22nd and give them as a small admission of 20 USD (or equivalent*), either as a PSN-voucher or PayPal-fund. The five chosen ones can freely choose their prefered reward (PSN or PayPal) and region/currency. If you choose PSN-vouchers, keep in mind that those should be somehow obtainable via any common online-store, though. 

*equivalent = 20 USD or any other value that would match 20 USD with the current exchange rates.

 

The five people will be chosen some time after Saturday 25th, 8pm GMT. 

 

 

Feedback

Any feedback on the event is welcome, e.g. things that could have done better.

Some already mentioned that they would like to see an event for Vita's 6th birthday, too. Personally I thought to make this a one-time event only but if there's a demand for it, I might do an event for the 6th birthday, too. Or someone else can feel free to do host that event.

As for the games I'd like to sign up with, I've been working on Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd recently, and it's nearly done, so I'll be able to pop that on the 22nd of February no problem. That's too easy, though, and I want to push myself a little. I'd also like to pop the plats for Steins;Gate 0 and Muramasa Rebirth as well. Muramasa will be quite tough, but I've been holding off on getting the plat for too long, so this is the perfect motivation to get it done.

I'm a huge procrastinator when it comes to my games. This would be a great push for me since when I'm on the go, I can play these.

As for the games I'd like to sign up with, I've been working on Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd recently, and it's nearly done, so I'll be able to pop that on the 22nd of February no problem. That's too easy, though, and I want to push myself a little. I'd also like to pop the plats for Steins;Gate 0 and Muramasa Rebirth as well. Muramasa will be quite tough, but I've been holding off on getting the plat for too long, so this is the perfect motivation to get it done.

 

Waiting to finish Steins;Gate 0 till that day? I couldn't handle this honestly. 

 

I'm a huge procrastinator when it comes to my games. This would be a great push for me since when I'm on the go, I can play these.

 

The game the number 1 game that I really want to Platinum is Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. I just put down the game since I beat the story and was a bit "meh" about everything else.

 

Not sure if I'm allowed to pick other games to put on my list.. but if so it would be these..

All these games above, I've either finished the story and just can't pull myself to rack up all of the other extra trophies (which is literally all of them.. lmao. I played and beat the Sly games on my PS3 so I still need to finish the stories on those) or I just put down the game (Attack on Titan) because I became easily distracted with other games that are currently out.

 

Sure you can list more than one game.

From those I would say that the both Sly-games are rather easy. For Sly 1 it's easiest to do everything up till Clockwerk and finish the main story (+ getting all bottles) and afterwards go for the one safe in the territory of the Panda King.

Sly 4 is also rather easy but has quite a lot of stupid trophies like opening the map on each area.

 

How can we join?! There's no game we can use!

 

 

I guess I can find something in my non-existent library of weebness

 

This gave me the idea to go for the Valkyrie Drive-plat.

Well, I haven't looked too much into the trophy list yet, but I would assume I could leave one of the easy trophies to pop last like opening the movie library or something. That way I can play through the whole story, but can still pop the plat later. You would know more about than me, though, since you've already played the game.

Not 100% sure on the game yet, will probably be one of the ones currently downloaded on the Vita (so Adventures of Mana, Hyperdevotion Noire, HDN Action Unleashed, or Tales of Hearts)
