So I did some thinking while doing the lily rank grinding in HDNU and I thought up some different multipliers based on the hours. As it currently stands, playing longer games makes you earn exponentially less points per hour. The following table shows this assuming all games are at 10% rarity:

  rarity x (hours/50 + 1)
guide hours 10 50 100 1000
per game 90 180 270 1890
per 100 hrs 900 360 270 0
per 200 hrs 1800 720 540 0
per 500 hrs 4500 1800 1350 0
per 1000 hrs 9000 3600 2700 1890

As you can see, this means playing shorter games will earn more points per hour if the rarities are the same. If you wanted the points to be spread out equally, making the multiplier increase for every 10 hours would solve this. It is shown in the following table:

  rarity x (hours/10)
guide hours 10 50 100 1000
per game 90 450 900 9000
per 100 hrs 900 900 900 0
per 200 hrs 1800 1800 1800 0
per 500 hrs 4500 4500 4500 0
per 1000 hrs 9000 9000 9000 9000

If you wanted longer games to earn more points (which I think was your initial idea with the multiplier thing,) my idea would be to increase the multiplier for every 10 hours and add an additional 10% for every 50 hours. The table below shows how this would look:

(rarity x hours/10) + (rarity x hours/10 x 10% x hours/50)
guide hours 10 50 100 1000
per game 90 495 1080 27000
per 100 hrs 900 990 1080 0
per 200 hrs 1800 1980 2160 0
per 500 hrs 4500 4950 5400 0
per 1000 hrs 9000 9900 10800 27000

So what are everyone's thoughts on this? Should a vote be put forth for the multiplier value?

Damn, Steep is glitched. That throws me back a long way. :(

Finally I found a solution for that glitch by myself and completed the game. So that's my firts 93.59 points. Btw, thanks for your lame ass support, Ubisoft!

Furthermore I also completed Life is Strange for PS3 yesterday, That's another 59.37 points for me. The #1 time in this game should be ignored. It's 5 hours faster than anybody else and after playing this game twice, I can't imagine to beat it in a little bit over 2 hours. This can't have been done legit.

Currently I've lousy 152.96 points but there will come more. ;)

Took me a while to understand your tables but now they make sense for me and I see the problem.

Personally I wouldn't have any problems changing the multipliers but I don't think that it would be fair as we're already have way through the contest.

I second this, my p4g plat is going to be much less by the end despite it being a 120+ hour game. :(

Not exactly, it made me rage at certain points then felt really satisfied after beating it.

It's still early here and I haven't had my coffee yet, so stupid question, but what does the first row (10, 50, 100, and 1,000) represent?

Hours. Took me also a while to figure it out. ;)

Yeah, it meant hours in a game. and then all of them below that are points earned per game, per 100 hours, per 200 hours, per 500 hours, and per 1000 hours of gameplay.

Sounds like a good balance to me, if a little more complicated to figure out. Seems a bit late for this year, but perhaps the next, if it's done a third time?

I'm really liking this, it's great feedback. I'll have to ask Zone Hunter and Mah2C's opinions too. Though one thing that I feel to point out is that 10-hour plats hardly ever have a rarity of 10% and are more likely to be in the 40%-90%.

If every 10 hour game was at 60% rarity while every 50+ hour game was at 0% rarity (which is technically impossible since you would need to earn the plat and it'd then be 0.01%,) it'd look like this:

  rarity x (hours/50 + 1)
hours 10 50 100 1000
per game 40 200 300 2100
per 100 hrs 400 400 300 0
per 200 hrs 800 800 600 0
per 500 hrs 2000 2000 1500 0
per 1000 hrs 4000 4000 3000 2100

So essentially any 10 hour game below 60% rarity would be worth more than any possible 50+ hour game on a points per hour rate, any 10 hour game below 70% rarity would be worth more points per hour than a 100+ game, and any 10 hour game with less than 79% rarity would be worth more points per hour than a 1000 hour game.

I finished Nep U today and it's a 23.96% rarity at a 2 times multiplier. That brings my tentative total to 331.46 points.

Next up will be Final Fantasy XV.

Nice, congrats :yay: .

Sorrry to hear that, I hope everything is ok.

Hope everything is well! And don't worry we can both join a "Slow Trophy Hunter/Player" support group. It doubly sucks because our game of choice is JRPGs.

How's Neptunia U? I'd like to purchase it since I'm done with Re;Birth 2. Although I'm tired of playing the same game (except in a different environment) over again. I hope it isn't the case for Neptunia U. Not sure if I'm able to put Re;Birth 2 as one of my plat'd games (I'm just left with stella dungeon waiting for it to complete clearing it, it's taking 13 hours to complete one dungeon <_<), but here's the current score.

304.19 + (Neptunia Re;birth 2) 80.19*2 (160.38) + (This War of Mine: The Little Ones) 93.07 + (Shinobido 2) 85.16 = 642.5

EDIT: I just realised there's two of my names in the participant list xD

It's a hack and slash instead of an RPG, so the gameplay is completely different. I'd compare it to the Senran Kagura games in terms of gameplay; they even copied the clothes breaking mechanics from the Senran Kagura games. It's fairly easy and I'd rate it at a 1/10 difficulty.

The story mode is pretty short... maybe 10-15 hours if you include the time it takes to clear the missions, but the lily grind is the longest I've had yet (i've only played the re;birth trilogy and MDN VII so some of the others could be longer.) You can only work on a single pair at a time. It took me nearly 20 hours to grind it all out.
