Now and Then: 2017 Gaming Goals

I did okay with my 2016 goals. I have way over my goal of 70 or was it 75 plats, and I finished 5 of the 6 Xblaze: Code Embryo plats (I have the 6th copy sitting unopened, and will probably save as a filler plat). However, I failed dreadfully in dropping my completion below 35%, and instead brought my completion above 40%. Oh well, let's try how I fare next year.

Goals:

Get 150 Plats

Plat SO4 (Due to time commitments, might put this off to my 150th plat)

Lower completion percentage to 40%

I think I spent too much time on my consoles this year, so going to try cutting back a bit.

Hit my goals for the year and then added on a completion percentage goal a couple months back... and then joined Kill Your Completion event... so that one will likely not be fulfilled.

Next year, I did like to:

  • get to level 22, 4200 total trophies, and 40 plats
  • kick @cease2123's ass in AYCD
  • complete the campaigns of every game I purchase in 2017

Here are mine:

Get at least one platinum a month (so have at least 12 by year's end)

Have a fairly even number of PSN, PS3 retail, and PS4 retail games

Decrease my backlog more than increase it

Might think of more, but that's a decent start. Was going to add something about completion, but I'm pretty sure I'll get my completion goal (somewhere in the 90s)

My goals for 2016 was 5k and 100 plats, I will get 100 plats so I'm happy and my 2017 goals are real. 7k trophies and 150 platinums. I have many great games like Jak and Daxters etc that will require less than 15 hours to plat so It will be possible to get more than 5 platinums per month.

How do you determine Vita rank? I don't think this site tells you that.

Anyway, here are my goals:

  • Reach Lv. 26 before my 26th birthday on July 1st (current level: 25 and 1%)
  • Raise my average completion to 91% (current completion: 88.10%)
  • Get my 6500th trophy (current trophies: 4515)
  • Get my 115th platinum (current plat count: 79)
  • Have at least 1% ultra rares (current URs: 40, that's 0.88% rounded down, so 0.999% will count as 0.99%)
  • Clear most of my PS3 backlog (= at least beat the game once, not everything needs to be at 100%, I have online trophies with dead servers and games I don't want to play again)
  • Reduce my unearned trophies to less than 500 and don't let them rise above 500 again

Since I now own a Playstation 4, A new system just prior to 2017 I have some goals pertaining to it:

  • Plat or 100%PSN every PS4 game (excluding DLC)
  • 125 Platinums (I'm venturing on longer games this year, not backloag much)
  • 65~70% AVG.
  • 9,000~10,000 trophies.
  • Obtain a few of my PS4 dream games: Onechanbara Z2, No Mans Sky, Dark Souls III, Fallout 4, Dragon Quest Builders, DQ Heroes World Below.

Made some adjustments and added one.

Get at least one platinum a month (so have at least 12 by year's end)

Have a fairly even number of games with and without :platinum: and between PS3 and PS4

Decrease my backlog more than increase it

Finish all platinum games I start before December 31

My 2017 goals are pretty big and I want to make it a great year in terms of trophy hunting.

Complete most of my incomplete games currently on my profile.

Get to at least to 90 percent completion rate.

If possible, make my 100th platinum my 200th completed game as well.

Get all online trophies knocked out so I won't have to worry about them.

Play more Vita and PS3 stuff.

For game related goals, I have some important ones like get all the Prince of Persia games on PS3 besides The Forgotten Sands which I have in June next year. I'll start and get them as soon as I get them, and I intend to platinum all of them in good times, taking no longer than 3 days for each. I also intend to get Watch_Dogs 2 in July and start it right away, I'm aiming to platinum that within 2 days and a couple of hours. I'd also like to go for a fast platinum on Horizon: Zero Dawn and make it a big milestone if possible, that would be really awesome.

And if I get a PS VR during the summer, I'll try to get at least one PS VR game platted or 100%ed.

Yeah, I'm hoping for the best.

complete ff7 (game is so boring now....seriously.) , beat megadimension and star ocean 5, sleeping dogs,

hit 9000 - 9500 trophy range.

2017 probably will be end of regular gaming for me. red Dead 2, God of War 4, Cyberpunk, essentially what will end gaming for me. no waiting on a ff 16 lol.

so 2017 will start with lots of backlog followed by Tales, KH2.8, Nioh and Nier.

2017 goals

100 plats (currently 66)

5250 trophies (currently 3519)

unearned trophies <800 (currently 970)

a-z plat list complete (currently 21/27)

a-z plat list by system PS4 22/27 (now 14/27), PS3 17/27 (now 7/27), Vita 22/27 (now 15/27)

completion rate >85% (currently 79%)

I think this is reachable but we will see how it goes. Also want to knock down my backlog considerably and keep spending under $360 for the year.
