Popular Post XInactiveAccountX
For those of you new to the Metal Gear Solid series or this game in particular, I have some tips that I would like to share that would ensure your success when going through the story and attaining the platinum trophy. When starting this game, I would first head into the VR Missions via the 'Missions' option on the main menu to get a better idea how the game works; how you move about stealthily, how your character can interact with the environment, the various methods of subduing or killing others, how the detection system works, and most importantly: getting the hang of the game's first-person mode. MGS2 isn't the easiest game to pick up and play, so going through several VR Missions in each category (sneaking, eliminate all, weapon mode, hold-up, etc.) will teach you a lot about the mechanics so you're not getting slaughtered/failing hard when it comes time to play the campaign and acquire the dog tags. You'll need to complete all the VR Missions at some point for the platinum anyway, right? I could not suggest this course of action enough. While playing the VR missions, you can also complete any action-based trophy tasks such as destroying security cameras, beating guards unconscious, or snapping their necks. There are enough VR Missions to complete -- which will see you performing a variety of actions against enemies -- that you will probably unlock all of the miscellaneous trophies without even being proactive in completing them. Besides, the last thing you want to do is prance around the campaign getting unnecessary kills over and over when you could instead be working on getting dog tags. Another thing: don't worry too much about getting first place in the VR Missions [50 times] when first starting out. Seeing as there are over 500 missions to do, you'll have plenty of time to discern which ones you want to try to attain first place for. With myself, I got my '50th first place' shortly after doing all of Raiden and Raiden (blade mode) missions, and still had a good few hundred missions left.
