Nice to know this. By now I guess it's save to say that every game that was either made or published by Curve Digital will end on PS+.

So my guess is that sometime next year we will get The Little Acre on PS+.

You're paying 60 bucks a year for something, how can you care so little about the bad quality you receive? If you order a medium rare steak at a restaurant and get one that's well done, do you just accept that you wasted money on something or do you complain? It's not about whether you can afford it or not, accepting mediocrity shows Sony that they can keep releasing shit like this. All 72 NA Plus games for 2016 (thanks to Reddit), working in at 83 cents a game...I'd feel a bit churlish complaining.   Make of it what you will, personally I think there's a lot of very good games in there.   There's no harm in pushing Sony to improve perceived quality, but a bit of perspective is warranted too.   Throw in the odd Plus freebie, extra Plus discounts and free Plus themes/avatars etc...

There's been worse months, and I'd say this one is actually one of the more interesting PS+ Plus months recently. I already have Day of the Tentacle, but I'm mildly interested in Titan Souls and This War of Mine. The rest I couldn't care less about.

 

Really though, PS+ Plus games have been pretty mediocre for the past year or so now.

I don't think the games are bad quality. Can you tell me which games are of bad quality on RedMustang72's list? Have you complained directly to Sony by the way?

I'm really happy about This War Of Mine. I live in city where this game was created and I know a few people which were working on this game. I've completed it on PC 11 times, I know this game better than any other game on PS. But because I'm not too rich I wasn't able to play it on PS4. Now I will get a shiny platinum! Yay super happy about it.

Looking at this list I've discovered I have played a grand total of 3 games given this year, not including games I already owned. I should probably do something about that....

While I do agree, it's sad that people are slipping away from the point here. Remember when PS+ was optional on the PS3 and PSVita? Still is? Exactly. Those people are paying for + FOR the games which means they're not actually free. I'm fine taking on the whole "Pay to play online" business model they introduced with the PS4 but why does that mean the quality of games have to decline?

They do give a good game here and there whether it be a AAA or a really good indie like Stealth Inc so it's not all bad and I'm just picking at an age old argument "Omg the games are crap this month. WAH." But the fact of the matter is, the games aren't free, you're renting them for a subscription price and it just annoys me that they're advertised as free when they're clearly not.

As PS4 only player - and without any long history with Sony consoles - I wasn't aware of this. I always considered the games as extra to the online gaming.

No. This is a decent, if not good month, regardless if you have these games already or not. Separating this lineup from being great is the missing of at least 1 AAA game (e.g. First Light, Saint Row 4, Gravity Rush Remastered, God of War: Ascension, Injustice, etc) that is all.

It's going to be hard to explain how I see things without looking as if I was defending Sony, but I'm gonna try lol 

 

First and foremost, I wholeheartedly agree with you. The quality of the games offered in the IGC has been in continuous decline since 2015 started more or less. The days in which we would get great games seem long gone now. Now, do I buy PS+ for the games as you say? Not quite. At least not anymore. Back in 2013 I joined PS+ because of the games. The Instant Game Collection was by far the most appealing element in the PS+ offer. 

 

However, times have changed. The point here is that the focus for PS+ is in some cases no longer the IGC, it's the capacity to use online features on PS4, emulating what Xbox Live Gold has been doing for a longer time (which, by the way, didn't have its IGC counterpart - Games with Gold - until 2013, so players paid ONLY for improved online gaming before that). From that point on, having PS+ is not just about the games anymore, meaning there's a priority shift and people's opinions diversify. For some, MP is essential, so they pay for PS+ gladly and regardless of the quality of the IGC. Some others still buy PS+ for the games, and those feel the decline the most, and rightfully complain. But, at the end of the day, if you don't like the games and they are your priority, just cancel your subscription while voicing out your opinion in hopes that it changes how things stand. 

 

What shouldn't be taken as common practice is generalising and saying PS+ "ain't worth it anymore" or that "people pay for the games", because for some people, it really is worth it and the games are close to irrelevant. My stance: I don't like the games we're offered but I want online gaming to be available for me so I stick around, but it is fact that the number of cancelling users has risen recently, especially after the price hike in the US. They must be noticing that and they really should do something. The PS4 library has launch titles likes Killzone Shadow Fall, Knack and AC IV Black Flag that should be offered to us already, long overdue!

The only reason I am not super excited right now is because I already have Day Of The Tentacle. Bought it right away and I don't regret it, it's one of my favourite games. It's awesome that everyone can try it now though, and I don't mind a month where fewer games interest me. It seems like PS+ is giving me more games than I can take care of...

 

Looking at the other games, I'll probably try This War Of Mine and Blazerush. I'm not that into roguelikes and I'll only do the Bejeweled knockoff if I really don't know what else to play.

I bought Day Of The Tentacle right away and I don't regret it. Most stuff from Double Fine ends up on PS+ about a year after release, I knew what I was in for. I'll buy Full Throttle as well, no way I'm waiting a year and I don't mind sponsoring them.
