CNN Uses Fallout 4 Screenshot To Show Russian Hacking

It'd be pretty hard to use computers in Fallout 4 to hack the US, considering they're not connected to the internet. The Fallout games take place in an alternate universe where America never made it that far into the future. But that hasn't stopped CNN from using footage from Fallout 4 as B-roll footage [not main footage, only just a second or two of screen time]

CNN has since updated their website to no longer include the video this error comes from, but you can see in the images below just exactly what was aired on TV. The very bottom picture is an actual screenshot from Fallout 4, and you can see perfectly that the CNN footage used is in fact from Fallout 4.

It's just some background image. Should they break in the russian intel headquarters and take shots of their running equipment instead to write the news? I absolutely do not understand what is all this fuss about. If they said "look, these are live images we got", then it would be cringe.

Exactly. Only thing more boss than using a bit from fallout there would have been showing a "hello world" code instead.

The news depends a lot on archive footage, I know at least two news sites I frequent that very obviously have a batch of stock pictures and use it for everything. Police car, stack of cash, cow, ski slope...

Considering Russia is being blamed on election hacking with absolutely no evidence presented this latest farce doesnt exactly dispel the "fake news" image CNN has garnered over the last couple months

Gotta love the headlines. "Unprecedented Punishment", oooh. Kicking the diplomates out of the country on the New Year's Eve to deny them a celebration with their families, while there were no plane tickets avaliable, that's so temper tantrum just and righteous!

Good ol' CNN just keeps on giving.

Yeah but CNN would have flipped out if US diplomats were kicked out because Obama interfered in the Israeli election and Brexit vote. If CNN didn't have double standards it would have none at all.

Meanwhile, Putin wished the US diplomates a Happy New Year and sent them the invites to the New Year Kremlin celebration instead.

Buuurn.

Ah.  Gotta love the fake news mainstream media - CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, the major networks.  The mainstream media: the fourth wing of the government.  The government's propaganda, disinformation and distraction machine.

More on topic though, I think anyone can agree with this.
