Popular Post Platisfaction
Hello and welcome PSNProfiles community! We are proud and pleased to finally present the results of the 2016 Guide of the Year Awards! Nope, we did not forget about it, and nope, it did not get buried under the huge site update. As a matter of fact we really had a hard time deciding on the top three this year; all nominated guides were of outstanding quality, so we took our time and went through the guides over and over again, comparing content, clarity, formatting and and and... Well, good things come to those who wait, so without further ado, here are the winners: The Legend of Heros: Trails of Cold Steel Trophy Guide by hasegawa2010 Fallout 4 Trophy Guide by Hazanberg, omegarevan, spazza136 and NCSFan001 Transformers: Devastation Trophy Guide by HappyKastanie Congrats to the well-deserved winners! You did an amazing job and delivered a professional piece of work just to help out your fellow trophy addicts! But as I pointed out before, it was a really close call this year, so shout-outs and kudos to all the other nominees and every single guide writer on PSNProfiles: Thank you for the hard work you put into your guides, we really appreciate it, keep them coming! Well, even though internet fame and glory is what we all are striving for, there was much more at stake this year. PSNProfiles' community and its guide system has been growing rapidly over the past three years, and so have the prizes for the GotY winners. This is what Sly threw in for 2016: $300 in PSN vouchers go to hasegawa2010 $200 in PSN vouchers go to Hazanberg, omegarevan, spazza136 and NCSFan001 $100 in PSN vouchers go to HappyKastanie Well, if this is no motivation to step up your guide writing game, dear guide writers, what is? When Sly started the guide system on 11 April 2014 we were a nobody in the world of trophy guides. A lot of people actually thought it didn't make sense to start something like this from scratch. Now, in 2017, PSNProfiles has become a trophy guide force to be reckoned with! Usually I hate to repeat myself, but it can't be stressed enough: This would not have been possible without all you amazing guide writers in our community, so again: Thank you guys, keep it up! Just to make clear how great our leaps are: Last time we shared some stats with everyone about how the guide system was doing as a whole thanks to your amazing efforts taking time to create incredible pieces of writing, Mango took the time to put up the stats from this year: Last year The Witcher 3 Trophy Guide was the first guide to reach 10,000 unique views, and it took 4 months to get there which was a great achievement, this year it took the Uncharted 4 guide just 4 weeks to reach 10,000 unique views! Last year at this time 4 guides had over 10,000 unique views, now over 48 guides have over 10,000 views! 40 guides had over 5,000 unique views this time last year, now over 168 guides do! 6 guides have over 20,000 views now, 2 guides are over 30,000 views. I wonder when the first guide will reach 100,000 views?

Greenshyguy
Congratulations to the winners. I agree that the guides on this site are all top notch (especially when linked to my trophy list) and is the first place I look when starting a new game

Same with me, and I'm always kinda disappointed if I have to refer to a different site. But we are working on that.
marvelboy10
Congrats to the winners. The games weren't easy so making the guides must have been very tough. They all deserved it and I am happy that HappyKastatine came 3rd because I voted for him. Keep up the great work and enjoy your prize you 3 you all earned it
SolidJD
I never used to use guides for trophies but now as I have less time to figure out what I need to do etc... I use them as much as possible to assist me. The majority of guides on this site that I have used are top notch and even though I did not use any of the winners guides I am glad people are recognised for their work. Well done to the winners and anyone who was nominated

IntenseFATE98
Congrats to the winners! Kudos to Sly and the Guide team too for conducting these GOTY competitions so efficiently every year. I wonder what will be the prizes next year
TheYuriG
It saddens me that only AAA games got the prizes, there were so many niche games with so much effort put into checklists and things like that, those didn't make it. Well, I guess it's supposed to the most viewed guides to have more positive votes overall.

One nomination wouldn't be enough anyway =D Really glad that hasegawa's guide won. It's more than deserving Kiseki for the win!
Orka-13
Congrats to the winners! I'm glad, the guide for The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel won. The two guides for Cold Steel I & II both helped me to get the two platinums.
TwilightSpira
Congratulations to all the winners, it's really beautiful to see how the site grew when it comes to content. Last year the guides were just taking their first steps and now we have new ones almost synced with the actual game releases :). Really helps with a annoying trophy.
Popular Post Happy
Oh wow. Admittedly i've been checking the site every 2 hours to see if the results were up for the last week but i didn't really expect to actually make top three. As such i didn't really go to the trouble of writing an acceptance speech but here we go. Biggest thanks go to, of course, the guide team. Both for choosing my guide over the competition, which was definetly tough this year, as well as adding the finishing touch to the guide when it first got published. Extra thanks go to those who nominated me, pretty impressive that you remembered a guide written in January of last year, literally wouldn't be here without you. Final thanks go to the big man Sly himself, thanks for making the process of writing these guides accessible and fun enough so that even someone as myself can make guides good enough to win a big load of money. Also thanks for the big load of money. I originally bought Transformers at last year's January sales so i suppose that it's only fitting that this is where the money will go.
Undead Wolf
Congrats to everyone that won, and of course thanks to everyone who goes through the effort of making these guides, even if it didn't end up getting nominated. It's very much appreciated. I'll always look for a guide to a game I'm playing on this site first because the guide system on here is vastly superior in my opinion. I'm sure it will only get better too! I'm hoping to contribute with some guides myself in 2017 if all goes well. I'm very happy that hasegawa's guide took the top spot this year. It just goes to show that your guide doesn't have to be for a big AAA game to get recognised. This is a win for everyone who plays niche games.
BlindMango
Well done everyone! It's been so great seeing the guide system grow and all the different writers come and go and bring their own awesome contributions to the site and help so many thousands of people out. Each year has been exciting but this past year was especially exciting! Can't wait to see what 2017 brings! Even if you didn't win or get nominated the fact that your guide passed our sometimes demanding approval process means you wrote something really great! Well done to the winners, the people who got nominated, and everyone who wrote something this year

Well, I guess it's supposed to the most viewed guides to have more positive votes overall. Well, yeah! Few needed them, but it doesn't mean the guides weren't really nice and didn't have a lot of effort put into them. It is also the guides that few others would end up writing. Guides you perhaps won't find on other guide sites, so everyone would have to go here for them. I know this well, because I did some of those guides. And then there's the cases where you do one of those, and they become a free for PS+ game, and then it even becomes forgotten by the guide team that you did so: https://psnprofiles.com/guide/2492-unmechanical-extended-trophy-guide https://psnprofiles.com/guide/5349-unmechanical-extended-trophy-guide I know it's harder to find my PS3 version, because most people play it on PS4, even if both are bundled. There's tons of stacking trophy lists for the game, can't post the same guide for all version. So when we can't even apply the same guide to different stacking trophy lists, guide team should at least make sure the game doesn't already have a guide for another version. //rantover Here's love to everyone who posted guides last year! And congratulation to those few winners! Edited January 7, 2017 by MMDE
Lucas
Congrats to the winners and thanks to every single guidewriter out there. Most of the published guides this year were very well written. To everyone who wrote a guide for PSNP, your effort is much appreciated! To everyone who hasn't written a guide yet, try it out! It's mostly fun to do and you're able to help your fellow gamers on PSNP out !
Terra
Congratulations to all the winners! But to be fair, everyone who has written a guide deserves a pat on the back. Every guide I have read has been informative and detailed. Serious congrats to the effort made by you guys! Im impressed!
Redgrave
I wasn't expecting our guide to win especially since it didn't win last year. I'm glad I could help write a guide with the others And congrats to @hasegawa2010 and @Happy for their guides!
Dragon-Archon
Congrats to the winners . It was very hard to come to a top 3 this year, the average level of writing guides has definitely gone up a lot the past year and I'm looking forward to see what 2017 brings .... until it's time for GOTYA 2017, then I'll be regretting it . But seriously, well done everyone.
