How common / rare is ammo in Borderlands 2? I've just started playing as Zero, and am using the sniper rifle. I remember having difficulty with ammo, particularly in the initial stages, in Fallout 4. Hence wondering. Thanks!

It is very common, but it is a pain when you run out just when you need it. If you find yourself running low in the middle of a mission, opening lockers, boxes, and smashing bone piles will give out ammo, especially if you are running low. Enemies also drop it at times, again it's more common if you are running low.

I don't ever remember having any difficulties with ammo inventory. Using guns that consume multiple bullets per shot, mostly found in shotguns and assault rifles (shotguns can consume up to like 6 bullets per shot), obviously isn't good for inventory management, and I never really felt there was enough of a positive in performance from those guns to actually use them. As you're going along, you'll find Eridium around, and you can use that at Crazy Earl's Black Market to upgrade your backpack. Upgrade your gun slots first, and once you have a gun you know you're going to use for awhile, upgrade that weapon's ammo type
