Hey there PSNP. Welcome to the 3rd edition of a grueling test of endurance and dedication. Some of the more insane members of our great community have been looking forward to this for a while. Some of you are new and just popped in to see what the heck it's all about. And a few of you might have stumbled in here still drunk from last night's bender while looking for the bathroom. That's ok, I just ask that you ask yourself these questions:

- Is the pressure to choose just the right game to start next near panic inducing?

- Are you convinced you have completion OCD and want help before it's too late?

- Have you ever wondered what it was like to have gaming ADD, and now you're ready to try it for yourself?

- Or are you maybe, as theYuriG once spouted "... a cold ratio killer and hell has a special place for you"

The Premise
Participants will each choose a list of ten 0% games from their backlog and post them here so everyone can follow along. These games don't have to be pre loaded on your profile, as long as you own them already and haven't earned a trophy they count. Participants will start a new game from that list every 3rd day for the next month. o.O They WILL then post their thoughts on each game, and write a short review on the final day for each game. This can take any shape or form each person desires.

Requirements to Join
Psnprofiles member for 1 month (or premium member)
Backlog of at least 10 un-started games
Desire to be part of something bigger than yourself
A complete and utter dis-regard for your completion rate (for the next month)

How to Join
Say you want in
Post your list of 10 games YOU ALREADY OWN that you haven't started.
Post your completion percent Feb 28th for S&G.

Game Selection Suggestions
These are just suggestions, this will have no bearing on you being added to the event. These are just things that I think make for a more interesting selection of games overall.
- Variety is The Spice...: Try to avoid having more than 1 or 2 of the same type of game on there.
- Try Something New or Different - A list with 10 AAA games/remasters that you've already played, from only two different series, is boring.
- Don't choose 10 games that all have average completion times under 10 hours: You're not fooling anybody. Sneaky participant is not sneaky. I'm watching you Billy. 

 

Frequently Unasked Questions?

 

Won't this completely bone my completion percentage? Maybe? Of the 8 participants who finished the first event, the biggest completion drop was under 5%, and the average was around 2.5%. In the 2nd run we had a participant drop a staggering 11.5%. It really just depends on how many games you've played and how close to 100% you already are.

How do I choose my games? Up to you. RNG, consult an Oracle, ask a friend, post a status update, pick 10 you've been looking forward to, or any combination of the above. You could also post games in the 2nd KYC thread and ask for help there.

What happens if I finish a game in under 3 days? Again, up to you. Start something else, work on one of your previous games, whittle, macrame, etc. This is acceptable and I fully believe this will happen, but it should not be the norm for your games.

How long should I play my game? The main component of this event is your perceptions and review. I suggest a minimum of three hours per game, so that you have at least a base grasp of story and concepts. Again, this is the bare minimum suggested time. I realize many of us have jobs and families and yada-yada... That is why we get three days per game.

What do I get if I win? You again!?! Seriously bro, get out of my thread or I'll report you for trolling. 

How does this all work? Really? You didn't read any of the above? Here's the TL:DR version, choose 10 games, post them here. Start a fresh game March 1st, play that game three or more hours over the next three days. I'll tell you when it's time to throw that one in the trash and start game 2, 3, etc. Tell us what you thought of game 1, 2, 3, etc. Have fun.

Okay, here's my list:

Black Flag for PS3 or PS4? If it's for PS4 we can try the multiplayer together. I don't know if it has any fun mode that could be played together, though. Overall it seems like it's a Cops and Robbers-like multiplayer.

I loved NieR. Everything on your list I found enjoyable, except for htol #NiQ, Thief, and Castlevania(only because I haven't played them :/). I liked Conception II enough, to hold off and pop it as my 8,000th trophy. So, I hope it's Firefly.

I loved NieR. Everything on your list I found enjoyable, except for htol #NiQ, Thief, and Castlevania(only because I haven't played them :/). I liked Conception II enough, to hold off and pop it as my 8,000th trophy. So, I hope it's Firefly.

Thanks, I'm hoping most of the list turns out well with NieR surprising me. I remember Crimsonidol's critique of Firefly and Edunstar's critique of Conception II, so I heard the controls aren't ideal for the former while the latter could be a chore.

#3 is a hidden object game so there's not much to say in regards to gameplay, #4 is pretty short, #13 seems crappy based on Metacritic and it's also short, and #16 got a bad rep on a previous KYC event.

 

I highlighted what I thought were different enough and could be used for good discussions. #12 was highly praised in the previous KYC event so that should be a delight. As for a tenth game or an alternate choice, Unravel, God of War III, and Mafia II all seem like good choices.
