Have 15GB free space, not enough for 664MB DLC?!

You sure it's 15GB and not 1.5GB? Often games need twice the space or whatever to install.

The PS3 doesn't display free space in GB when it's under 10GB. So if there was 15GB free space it would say 15GB, and if there was 1.5GB free space it would say 1500MB. I would be surprised if someone mixed the two up.

Yeah, might be it says 1500MB, and he mixes it up and thinks it's 15GB and not 1.5GB... idk? :P That would have explained the problem.

Double 664MB is still less than 1.5GB, so it still should have installed fine. Unless the PS3/PSN is just being awkward, lol.

You may have a large section of the HDD corrupted and it's un-usable by the system...even though it counts as free blocks...Try installing another piece of software to see if the counter does change and the blank section is usable. You might also do a HDD back-up and try reformatting the HDD. REMEMBER, reformatting the HDD blanks it of all info and unless it is backed-up on another drive you will lose EVERYTHING.

It seems for the EU digital compete edition, that the Consul's car dlc is not included and thus needs to be purchased separately. I don't mean to sound patronizing but you have purchased it?

It was free after I purchased the Complete Edition :S

This one seems to be the more realistic problem. Honestly, the simpler solution is to try to delete one game as a test to see if that it the issue. If that is the issue then re-downloading would be the more direct route.

Sometimes Ps4 /Ps3 is reserving way more space than necessary because of poorly  designed "patch/data" structure. Im switched to digital over bluray a while ago and i can tell you it happens only for some devs.

Sometimes it is a security system to reserve little bit more , but sometimes dlc/patch need to new structure already installed data and so it needs more space , because it copys the old structed data before it delet it again ..... so in end after finishing the download and installing you have more space again.

Maybe a programmer or IT specialist can explain it better , but thats pretty much how it works as far as i know.

I noticed once that no matter how much I deleted I would get a similar error until restarting the PS3.

If you need 1 GB and free up 20, sometimes the console still doesn't recognize it until you've restarted.

I did restart the console a couple times. I had to delete stuff to download the DLC

had a similar issue on the PS4, I had 20+gb free

There was an update to SMITE that failed, and asked me to make space.

The update was 32mb, explain that one xD

The systems must need a certain amount of space.....for something....

How big is the original install?

It may be that the game needs the entire game + dlc worth of space extra to install the dlc? I don't know, just guessing here.

That is a last resort, he can use the restore file system, and rebuild the database on the safe menu to check for anything corrupted and repair
