Don't Break The Chain (A Trophy A Day)

Recommended Posts

This is a great thread and I'm glad to see there are other players who think like me and set similar goals.  I've been getting trophies since 2008 and have had some serious lulls in my gaming.  Family and work get in the way (in a good way).  I rediscovered my nerd love for trophies last year and worked diligently to get my per day average above 1.  I believe that when I first started trying my average was below .70.  Having had my first trophy pop almost a decade ago, I had a lot of catching up to do. But to work towards my goal, I concentrated on getting at least 2 trophies per day (usually more). My average is now at 1.10 (3,352 trophies over 3,042 days).  So now I just focus on trying to slowly increase my average.  I don't sweat it if I miss a day here or there. Life happens!  But when I do have the time, I do try to make up for it. ?

But what the heck, I'm currently on 7 day streak!

The game crashed when I tried to get Chilled Out in Hogwarts - I had finished the second-to-last level of Year 3 and had the option to mount Buckbeak and complete Year 3, but I forgot to Glacius 20 people so I went back into Hogwarts and tried freezing students, then when I tried to enter the student dorms, the game crashed. Luckily, it didn't corrupt my save, or I would have rage-quit temporarily.

1st trophy:

34Ledcc96.png

Bullet Point :bronze: from Dead Rising

I did another couple of playthroughs of this game, my last one was about completing the cases and being at the rendez-vous point at time, which I did but weirdly the trophy for that didn't pop, I don't understand why not but I'll try again.

All trophies won on the 21st:

Dead Rising:

Bullet Point :bronze:

Level Max :bronze:

Punisher :bronze: (4000th trophy)

Snuff Shot J :bronze:

Legendary Soldier :bronze:

Life Saver :silver:

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens:

Another 8 trophies added to the collection and I've passed the 4K trophies, up to 5K!

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4:

1Sc06160.png

Finally got the Platinum for this game. What annoyed me was one Ravenclaw crest, the one in The Quidditch World cup stage. I needed a Ravenclaw to get the crest but the game didn't put one in my list even though I had unlocked every Ravenclaw character. I had to do a third play of the stage and physically choose my main character to be a Ravenclaw. :( Anyways, that's my 10th platinum.

Going to rest and sleep and then do what I promised the Heartless Hunters I'd do and get my saves started for the Kingdom Hearts platinums.

EDIT: Finally got the second-to-last trophy for Buff Knight Advanced, Artifact Master, after many runs of the maps. Sadly, the last trophy I have is Fairy Master, and I don't think I can ever earn it - at least not without total concentration and RNG that the fairy I get is a super-slow one. *sigh*

Got the first trophy on LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7 to rank up to Rank 11. I had 5 points to Rank 11 after getting the Buff Knight Advanced Platinum! Anyways...

Even though it was a nice gift to me from my gym trainer, I had to trade the Wii U in for Gamestop credit because I was too poor to even buy groceries for the week* so I couldn't buy any games. I got $117.00 from the Wii U and new copy of Breath of the Wild. When I earn a Nintendo Switch this Christmas, I'll play it on that(and Pokemon Stars, which should be out by then).

In the meantime, I purchased a new charger cable so my phone finally gets to keep the old charger cable, three months of Playstation Plus for my blank accounts, $25 in PSN store cash, and a used copy of Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below for a blank account because I want to get the platinum on both Dragon Quest Heroes games as I have the sequel, DQH2, on pre-order. So I'll be dedicating equal time to that and the Kingdom Hearts collection over the coming months so all the trophies I earn on my main account will be light. (I still have Oceanhorn to finish up, as well as Yooka-Laylee and World of Final Fantasy and the aforementioned LEGO Harry Potter.)

* And then I get this Mazda cash giveaway flyer and I won 2nd prize - $2000! I'll be pick it up Tuesday morning. ? **

** Nevermind, my parents showed me that the $2000 was nothing but credit towards A NEW CAR! ??

1st trophy:

41Le401ab.png

Quick On The Draw :bronze: from LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I didn't have much time to play today so I was happy to have a Lego game going as they always hand out easy and fast trophies.

All trophies won on the 22nd:

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens:

Quick On The Draw :bronze:

...What Was The Second Time? :bronze:

Only 2 trophies, but seeing I didn't have much time I'm glad I could keep the chain going

Been away for a few days because my cat didn't take to being neutered very well. I have the cone on him, but he wails like a banshee unless someone is in the room with him. Anywho, I'm still playing HDN RB2. Haven't worked out how I'm going to keep the chain going as some of my games are slow-burning JRPGs that take hours to get even one trophy.

12 days, 12 games, 185 trophies, 4 platinums, 4 story finishes, 2 milestones (6K trophies, fastest platinum).

I probably won't get any gaming time at all on Thursday (except for if I decide to play the Switch on handheld mode) and Friday is when Mario Kart gets released so I'll fail heavily after 15 or at most 16 days, it seems.

I have a quote from a book I am reading about that... "He is one to talk having long since sacrificed his masculine prowess to the joys of being a kept cat." ^_^ I really wanted to get a cat but unfortunately, the dream I had of being semi-rich was flushed down the toilet when my dad showed me the truth. Oh well, I'll have to start prostrating myself before him and licking his boots - the apartments I live in have a steep price for keeping a free-roaming pet of the furry kind. I hope your cat recovers quickly. Also, I noticed that your post ended abruptly at "g."

Anyways, my report is that I am 70% of the way to the platinum for LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7 in the PS4 collection. Sadly, I woefully underestimated the time it would take me to get through the remaining 23 stages and it was one AM by the time I finished. With my exercise regiment demanding rest, I have to go to bed now, but hopefully I'll get the platinum tomorrow - I only need to clean up the collectibles and do some miscellaneous trophies.

Thanks for pointing that out! I should really read my posts through before I press "Submit Reply".

I've been waiting years to afford a cat, which includes moving as well. The flat I had before didn't allow one. You never know you might get one in the future.

Thanks for the support. I won't be able to sync my trophies for the next days as I am going abroad with my parents(to the coast) but I will be earning trophies and going back to Persona 4 Golden. Once I finish the platinum on my current game, I'll get started on other stuff.

Day 13: April 23th 2017

1st trophy:

22L62faa8.png

Access Granted :bronze: from Four Kings Casino and Slots

They added another DLC to this game and this time they mean business, to get this first of 3 trophies you need to get to VIP2 (which means getting 50k xp in a months time) and access the high rollers lounch. Since I had already won a lot of xp this month I decided to go for this one, the other 2 however will be very hard, especially since I don't have many chips left.

All trophies won on the 23th:

Four Kings Casino and Slots:

Access Granted :bronze:

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens:

Eyes of A Man Who Wants To Run :bronze:

Plague Inc: Evolved:

Tank :bronze:

The Glorious Dead :bronze:

Nano-Virus Victory :bronze:

Bio-Weapon Victory :bronze:

6 trophies added on the 23th, not bad for a day where I didn't have to much time on my hands.

Day 14: April 24th 2017

First trophy:

32La83a28.png

Red Rain :bronze: from Plague Inc: Evolved

With very little time to play I just went for a quick trophy, it's the only trophy I won on the 24th but it's enough to keep the streak going.

First trophy:

Gladiator :bronze:

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens:

Don't Get Cocky! :bronze:

3 bronze trophies earned to add to the collection again.

Day 16: April 26th 2017

1st trophy:

So I did start up my Vita collection on this account with Adventures of Mana for a plat and Pocket RPG for my first 100% non-plat(it's not too hard but I did die a few times because I underestimated the enemies), but... I don't think I'll continue playing them for a long time... *SIIIIIGH* ?

"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!" (From the Sopranos)

Yep, I got back Persona 4 Golden(the store nearby actually provided me a physical card of the game, the clerk there is so kind) and decided to try it considering that Persona 5 is fermenting in my fields and I need to start it eventually, so I decided to break into the Persona life by going back to an oldie-but-goodie. And the instant I got into it(luckily, my phone was able to connect to the Social Link guide of GameFAQs) I forgot about my other games and started in on it.

Thank all holy elementals that this game has an option to put the cutscenes on fast-forward mode and skip the anime scenes or I'd not even be past the second dungeon yet. Now I am past the fourth dungeon and doing the slice-of-life stuff until my favorite character in the game gets kidnapped(if you played the game you would have seen her before the second dungeon, she was the avatar I used for my third account on this forum ;)) - but all is not rainbows and roses, sadly; I am behind on the Death and Chariot social links because of two things:

  1. I forgot to save scum the Aiya beef bowl challenges the first two times and somehow didn't get enough Diligence to get to Rank 3 before the required date so I couldn't take the hospital job until a month in the game and a dungeon later, so I am half a day behind the Devil Social Link. Hopefully the Devil social link is not so asinine to max in Persona 5. (No spoilers.)
  2. I somehow skipped a day I had to talk with Chie for some reason and missed a chance to develop her Social Link so she's now a rank below what the guide says, so she'll be stuck at Rank 9 until the final dungeon because all my days will be busy maxxing the skills(I am still bitter that my Diligence didn't hit Rank 3 by the required date), reading books(I will not fail to get Avid Reader again this playthrough) and trying to keep the other Social Links from failing.
  3. I actually made a mistake and advanced the Sun Link on a day I was supposed to advance the Priestess link so I had nothing to do except go to Aiya and take the beef bowl challenge, so I got the book early. *sigh* Luckily it seems to have corrected itself.

If I can't follow the guide properly in P4G, how can I do it in P5? ? Yes, I know what you are going to say: "Just screw it and ignore the Social Links then, you have to do a second playthrough anyways", but I wanted to believe in the guide. Oh well. At least I can fuse my favorite Persona, Alice. ?

The last trophy I got was for having Kiyo Junaka(the name I gave the main character in this playthrough) his first girlfriend, Chie, despite having neglected her accidentally. Yes, the guide has you do a harem route where the hero romances all of the girls. I don't plan on doing that in Persona 5, because the walkthrough on GameFAQs which has its own guide for Confidants says that romancing the Death Link character(the doctor) will cause her events to happen sooner and mess up your timing. I plan on having Joker have eyes only for Futaba. (Yes, my second Persona 4 waifu after Naoto is Risette. I love the members of the team on P3/P4/P5 which are the navigators and don't battle, they contribute heavily.)

Day 17: April 27th 2017

1st trophy:

33L96d059.png

AR magazine + :bronze: from Wolfenstein: The New Order

Shooting Nazis is always fun, but getting trophies for doing so is even better :)

All trophies won on the 27th:

Wolfenstein: The New Order:

AR magazine + :bronze:

Gun magazine + :bronze:

Bullet feeder :bronze:

Quick regeneration :bronze:

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime:

Seat Warmer :bronze:

Generosity :bronze:

Doodle God:

Combo! :bronze:

Again 7 trophies added to the list. Seems like I'm getting only bronze trophies lately though!

Well, I failed. No worries though. Not a big deal to me, since I average 7 trophies a week anyway. Also, does anyone know if tracking our trophies in our stats profile has been suggested on this site before? I want to find the thread.

Don't muse on breaking the chain. The term was just used to motivate people to keep at their work, not anything in hard stone. ^_^

Anyways, I just earned The Reaper Shall Be Reaped trophy in Persona 4 Golden by killing the scary ghost in Yukiko's Castle while hunting for quest items. I think the Reaper's power is weaker if you fight him in earlier areas, because he never used Megidolaon, he just used elemental spells on people to knock them down and spammed Mind Charge and Mahamaon(which cost me all of my Eggplants :( ) but now my main is carrying the Sword of Toksu, his ultimate weapon.

The game just much easier. ?

Anyways, I need to start playing inFAMOUS Second Son so I can get that game on my list. It's a fun game if you don't mind unskippable cutscenes. Hopefully this is the last time I ever play this game. The open-world stuff isn't bad and makes the game fun.

He never uses Megidolaon if he can hit weakness.

If you bring Yoshi full null Persona, he will be spamming Megidolaon.

(1) I plead the fifth like so many others who want to just get the trophies and get out - I've experienced all the cutscenes on someone's Youtube playthrough.

(2) I will probably go through the dialogue normally on my second playthrough for the experience.

(3) I'm sure anyone who played Persona 5 can say that such an option from P4G is not in P5 and they wish it was, so I want to go through and finish P4G's story once before I get into P5 and have to deal with all the dialogue. xD

Anyways, changes of plans, playing through Adventures of Mana to get the platinum today so I can get that out of my backlog.

EDIT: Am at 48% in Adventures of Mana, all I need to get the platinum is grinding to Level 99(I'm at Level 66 now, and grinding on the end game enemies is going to take hours), get 99 in all stats(which is doing fine - I alternate between Warrior and Mage and every odd level has all the stats at Level+1, so I should get two stats at 99 by Level 98 and the other two at the last level-up, and beat the final boss(which nets four trophies and should be easy with a Level 99 character ^_^). I doubt I'll get the platinum by midnight, though.

So I platinumed Adventures of Mana as my 14th and started on inFAMOUS: Second Son for hopefully my 15th platinum. It's a good game. I managed to clear two districts and get the Double Smoke Stack Attack trophy on the third Core Relay in the second main story quest. ^_^

Trophies Earned: (Adventures of Mana)

  • Warrior of Warriors
  • Monk of Monks
  • Sage of Sages
  • Gemma Knight (at 5:18 PM after 6 hours of grinding)
  • Mage of Mages (trained in Sage since I only needed one more INT to get 99 INT and Sage and Mage both give INT bonuses)
  • End of the Line (I-III) (Julius was pi$$ easy at Level 99, though I did have to heal a lot at the final phase)
  • Duty and Honor
  • The Hero of Mana (the plat)

(InFAMOUS: Second Son)

  • Sacrifice (starting with the Good Ending, Expert mode, which is really painful)
  • Double Smoke Stack Attack
  • One Down
  • Prank Call
