Do you have to get 100% in this Game to unlock the Platinum Trophy?

Good Day

I really liked “Banjo Kazooie” back in the Day. It was one of the first Games that I´ve played. Aside from “Spyro the Dragon” and “Crash Bandicoot”. To play these Games with my tiny “Playstation 1” on a bulky TV was awesome. But that´s enough for my Backstory. I actually wanted to know something about “Yooka Laylee”.

Some of the Trophies states, that you have to do some Things only once. Like beating Kartos Minecart Challenge or Dr. Quack´s Quackfire Quizzes. So what do you actually get from these? If you get Quills and Pagies from them, then there´s a Chance, that you have to beat all Challenges and Quizzes for the “Collect all 1010 Quills” – Trophy and the “Collect all 145 Pagies” – Trophy.

It would be really helpful to know this, because my “Jump and Run” Skills are not what they were Years ago.

Yours sincerely

Yep, you have to do everything for the platinum - all quills, all pagies, everything has to be done to completion. Like getting 120 stars in Super Mario 64. There's nothing in the game that can be skipped if you want the plat.. as I am painfully learning.

Would you say, that this Game is challenging or are there a bunch of frustrating Areas, Challenges, Enemies etc. ?

Some very annoying challenges based around trial and error, and some based on very janky controls. Not the hardest game I've played but any of the brick walls I've come across have not been in the game proper but rather in the minigames and boss battles - there's very little challenge in the actual open world platforming part, in my opinion, especially after you get a certain power up later on in the game. It's not so much reflexes as remembering the best routes through the minigames, learning the strategies for the bosses (a couple are VERY annoying) and just generally being patient. I see you've finished Teslagrad & Uncharted 4 - I don't think you'll have any problem with the game at all, but be prepared for some annoying parts. IMO it's just being patient and being willing to do the same thing over and over until you learn the best route.

Yea pretty much 100% everything for the Plat.

The Kartos Minecart sections can be very frustrating, especially on world 4 as you need to do it in order to face that worlds boss. There was also a golfing section in world 5 that i found quite frustrating but I only made it harder for myself as I didnt know you can press a switch to stop a windmill you need to go through, also frustrating is finding out you are missing one quill in a world and can't find it, hunter tonic can help but theres always usually one quill in each level by its lonesome.

Not exceptionally hard, just frustrating at parts but perseverance will pull through.

It's for the most part fairly doable, and a lot of what reviewers talked about (camera, unclear objectives, not holding your hand) are non-issues because the game generally does show you exactly what to do. Also I have no idea how you could get lost in the hub world. It's incredibly linear.

Some of the minigames though are absolutely horrid, in particular the later minecart levels and one of the arcade things. The fourth minecart one almost gave me an aneurysm and the boss fight wasn't much better (thankfully you don't have to do it all at once). The fourth arcade one is also incredibly aggravating and is very suspect to screen tearing which can ruin an entire run of it. The mechanics of it are also annoying (why would you even press L2 to slow down? That's how you lose a life in it). The minecart levels in general control so poorly that I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't tested. The casino level is by far the worst level in the game because of all this. Also the first boss has the absolute worst camera angle in the entire game and is very annoying because of it.

I agree. i just platinum'd this game and looking back, some of those Kartos minecart stages were awful. The one in World 5 took me a good 15 or so attempts to pass it. The Rextro arcade for the most part wasn't too much of an issue, but the last two felt like they lasted way too long and with very little room for error for passing the high score made those frustrating.
