Popular Post Gretchen27
Hola & Welcome Yes, another list has been thrown into the fray for your viewing pleasure. My evenings are free now that summers here, so I’ve decided to finally start one of these. If not now, I'd never get around to posting. Hope you enjoy my list none the less, & let me know of any corrections or suggestions you have. Background: I’ve been gaming for nearly all my life, starting as a PC gamer. That being the most dominant platform I played; though I had a PS1 & Gameboy very early on. My PC gaming ended when it became too much of an obsession (staying up late / waking up early for an MMO). Infrequently I would play the PS1 or Gameboy, & when I got a PS2 & DS I would play those heavily over the summer (or when the latest Pokemon game came out). PS3, the same story. It wasn’t until I got a Vita that my gaming became a year round thing. As you’ll see in my plats, I love that handheld. But being the completionist that I am, I have quite a lot to go through on the PS3 & PS4. It’s a habit of mine that I have to finish what I start. As close as possible to 100% is the main goal, & hopefully this site helps me achieve that. Yearly Goals: 2017: 85% completion rate & ~650 unearned trophies {Completed: 87.09% & 551 unearned trophies} 2018: 90% completion rate & ~450 unearned trophies {Completed: 91.51% & 439 unearned trophies} 2019: 90% completion rate & ~600 unearned trophies {Completed: 91.12% & 548 unearned trophies} 2020: 90% completion rate & ~550 unearned trophies {Incomplete: 90.06% & 685 unearned trophies} 2021: 90% completion rate & ~700 unearned trophies Warning: This list may contain story spoilers so read at your own risk. Scoring Rubric: Spoiler Enjoyment: personal factor, extra insight can be found in the write up. 10 - Absolutely loved the game. The highest score possible for exceptional gameplay &/or story. 9 - Excellent game. Solid on almost all aspects with a few problems. 8 - Good, but not quite on par to receive a higher score. 7 - Potential to be better with more polish on gameplay, or fleshing out of the story. 6 - Fun to play as a time killer, not going to be memorable. 5 - Take it or leave it. There's faults with this game that have it scoring low, but at the same time, redeeming qualities that keep it mid-range. 4-1 - Unredeemable. Not recommended, & likely wished I'd never played. Difficulty: pain meter, taking into account the skill level & time to complete. 10 - Damn near impossible. 9-6 - Skills, luck, & lots of time. 5 - Had its tough moments, mostly a breeze. 4-2 - Easy. 1 - Movie night with occasional, "I'm still here," prompts. Platinums # 1-10 Spoiler #1 L.A. Noire Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 3/10 The infamous first platinum. I greatly enjoy reading hard-boiled, noir, or any crime fiction. So this was a must have when I found out about it. I spent quite a bit of time just running around enjoying the game, I’ve played through the story a few times now. Rockstar, get a sequel in the works. #2 Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Skip to #5 if you want the backstory on how I got into Uncharted. Anyway, picked up the dual pack with U1 & U2 not long after I finished the story of U3. Thought it a good idea to start at the beginning. I was doing all good going through the story, before I hit the Nazi base…those creatures still haunt me when I play any game with a long hallway. I’ve since played The Evil Within (don’t really get around to many horror games), & I would rather run through that entire game than deal with those damn things. Props to the team who worked on those sound effects & music (you completely twisted my happy Uncharted run when I reached that point). #3 The Testament of Sherlock Holmes Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 2/10 My fastest platinum! Loved this game, I barely stopped playing it for sleep. & I'm currently watching the Granada 1984 TV series Sherlock Holmes right now while writing this, obviously I'm a big fan. #4 The Sims 3 Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Avid Sim fan. I’ve had the Sims on near everything: Gameboy, DS, PSP, PS2, PC, & on my phone. I’m really surprised this is an ultra rare plat (my only one). I’ll be looking into The Sims Pets for PS3 eventually (I know I’m a masochist). #5 Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 5/10 *Not at a 100%* Strap in kiddies & let me tell you a story: Long ago two college girls went to grab lunch at a shopping center near their university. With time to kill they decided to walk into Best Buy. Somewhere in the gaming section they got lost, for well over two hours. Stuck playing the U3 demo (aka Chp: 7) from where the chateau is set on fire, til Sully & Drake make it out. We played on old-school couch co-op rules (pass the controller & begin the level over when you die) on I believe at least Hard mode. We did not leave until both of us could do the segment on one try.Needless to say this took awhile. However, it was well worth it & I ended up getting U3 for Christmas shortly thereafter. This really was the original game I decided to try & get everything on the trophy list. That goal has still not been met, yet… #6 Uncharted: Golden Abyss Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 5/10 The reason I bought a Vita (surprise, surprise). I suppose I’ve always been a handheld gamer at heart; having multiple DSs, GameBoys, a PSP. Those I always had to have the latest model. Whereas my console I was just eh, one’s enough. Really my consoles are more entertainment centers (playing music & movies) than for gaming. But I’m digressing from what this section is supposed to be about. Uncharted + Handheld = Perfection. Though I admit I left the difficulty at my initial impression (which took into the account I was terrified to use the touchscreen, even with a screen protector on). #7 Need for Speed: Most Wanted (PSV) Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 5/10 My first NFS game was Most Wanted on the DS (you see a theme with this handheld gaming yet?). So this was a no brainer to pick up the same day I got my Vita. I believe this was the first game I tried the sites gaming sessions with for the online trophies. So thank you to those people who helped out! #8 Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock (PSV) Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Yeah I heard this was a pretty bad game; but Vita + Doctor Who = I’m playing it anyway. Not the best game in the world if you’re looking into gameplay & graphics; but if you have a good sense of humor & don’t mind clanky controls, it can still be fun. #9 The Wolf Among Us (PSV) Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 1/10 After numerous recommendations from friends to try a Telltale game, I settled on this (not a fan of The Walking Dead TV show). What an amazing story! If you haven’t played this yet, stop reading this & go now. Seriously, you can thank me later. Then go play Tales from the Borderlands (my second favorite Telltale game). I just wish that other Telltale games would have more record type stuff to unlock from different choices & for a sequel of course. #10 Tearaway Enjoyment: 6/10 Difficulty: 4/10 I wasn’t as fond of this game as I expected to be. Maybe it was hyped a bit too much, or I may just not have been in the right mood to enjoy it. Thankfully with plus I can try Tearaway again on the PS4 (maybe I’ll enjoy that one more). #11-20 Spoiler #11 Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 7/10 *Not at a 100%* The most challenging and least favorite game for the series, in my opinion. Mostly due to the train and last boss fights, those really ruined the game for me. I struggled a lot on those sections during the forced hard mode before unlocking crushing, & let’s not talk about what happened to Harry. #12 The Walking Dead: Season 1 (PSV) Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 1/10 After greatly enjoying TWAU I was all on-board for picking up the other available Telltale games. TWD season 1 was solid enough, that ending was pretty strong. Not great, but a good time killer. #13 Assassin’s Creed II Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Expanding my game collection I turned to a classic, Assasin’s Creed. I was a little apprehensive to try this series since I figured Assassin meant there would be a bunch of stealth sections. I do not do stealth, no patience or skill set for it whatsoever. I was surprised how many different things there was to do in this game, I’ll definitely have to try the remaster for the other games (avoiding the online). #14 Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1 Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Before going on vacation one summer I decided to pick up something on the Vita to take with me. This game was not anywhere on my radar, nor had I ever heard of the series. I was just looking for a good little handheld game I could easily play for a bit & put down. An associate actually suggested this game, & that’s how I got introduced to the series. I look forward to playing through the others. Though they’ll most likely never have an impact like this one. #15 Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed (PS3) Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 6/10 A friend & I have a set birthday gift rule. Video games we’d never buy for ourselves (so while she gets me Akiba, I’d picked up Naughty Bear for her). For a gag gift it was seriously enjoyable. I mean I can’t even get over how much I enjoyed it. Any other beat ‘em up I’ve played I just do random button pressing (who doesn’t). Plus I started my first run on the hardest difficulty (cause it was titled gamer). Not sure why this clicked so much, but I’ve sinced picked it up for all 3 consoles. Judge away~ #16 Assassin’s Creed III Liberation (PSV) Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 6/10 One of the games I picked up when I purchased a Vita. Enjoyed it more than AC II, but slightly more challenging & grindy. #17 Gravity Rush Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 6/10 Just running through the top Vita games. Love the premise, art style, & gameplay. One of the few that takes advantage of all the Vita’s features. Just recently I finished the DLC challenges for 100%, those bumped up the difficulty for me. I’m a little disappointed that the sequel ended up on the PS4, not sure yet if I’ll play that one because of it. #18 Ys: Memories of Celceta Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Impulse buy, & man was it awesome. A fairly long game I ran through in a week. I’d highly suggest this if you have a Vita & like RPGs. #19 LEGO Jurassic World (PSV) Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Admittedly I picked this up immediately after watching Jurassic World in theaters. I was on a Jurassic high, plus I’d been meaning to try a LEGO game. An enjoyable easy game; lots more to play through. #20 Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishment (PS3) Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Another run through the Holmesian video game series. Not as impactful as the first one I played (Testament) in terms of cases/story. Less challenging puzzles with a new decision system, made it equally enjoyable as the first. #21-30 Spoiler #21 Grim Fandango Remastered (PSV) Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Another old game I never got to play before. Loved the humor, & the puzzles did have me stumped a few times. #22 Deadpool (PS3) Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 6/10 A suggestion from a friend. I’ve never read the comics, & this was before the movie came out so this was really my first introduction with Deadpool. I can safely say that was the weirdest & funniest hack & slash I’ve played. Highly recommend for a fun, slightly challenging game. #23 Amnesia: Memories Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 2/10 My first VN! Not sure what I was expecting…really enjoyed it, even after it took a sharp right turn into crazy land & the main character ended up in a large dog cage. You read that right, though I may still not believe it. Maybe its my choices (if there was a ‘this will get you killed’ option I usually picked it). So I saw a ton of bad endings…Still I look forward to trying other VNs. #24 Hyperdimension Action Neptunia U Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 4/10 I’d guess you’d label this as beat ‘em up. Not much experience with these (beside Deadpool), not too much of a challenge though. It satisfied the Hyperdimension craving well. #25 Freedom Wars Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 7/10 Another gift game, that I may have otherwise never tried on my own. Monster hunting never had an appeal to me, but did this game ever blow me away. It had me at character customization & the fact that I get a robot companion (*cough* babysitter *cough*). His name was Tres by the way; after Tres from Trinity Blood (I made him look as close to that as possible with a sniper rifle as the main weapon). If I remember I’ll add a screen shot later. I still play this on occasion, I’ve got around 100,000 years left on my sentence. #26 LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (PSV) Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Na na na na na Batman! #27 Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 3 V Generation Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Oh look at that, another HDN game down. This series just might end up like Uncharted, & I’ll have to play through them all. #28 Virtue’s Last Reward Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Another highly recommended game I finally got around to. I’ll say it; I needed a guide for just about every riddle. #29 Tales from the Borderlands (PS4) Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 1/10 Seeing as how I greatly enjoy playing Borderlands 2, this Telltale series was a no brainer. If Wolf Among Us was excluded from my options, then this would be my favorite one. I try to pace these episodic games out (usually no more than an episode a day). This one though I could not put down. #30 The Order: 1886 Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Okay so maybe U4 wasn’t the only reason I caved & finally got a PS4. This game might (certainly) had some weight to that decision. Picked it up with my PS4 cause I got a soft spot for 19th century steampunk genres. Far to short, but still worth it. #31-40 Spoiler #31 Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Something else I picked up when I bought my PS4. The first & currently only FF game I’ve finished (not saying much I know). I’ve got a few other FF games I’m working on. #32 Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed (PS4) Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Told ya I was gonna play this on every console. PS4 down, just Vita left (saving it for a milestone). #33 Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Hmm…getting difficult to find things to say about a HDN game. If you’ve played it then I’ve got nothing to add. If not & you need something for the Vita, go pick up a copy. #34 Monster Monpiece Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Impulse buy when it was on sale. I like card games so this seemed up my ally. Short on story & one tediously unnecessary grind; if I didn’t have help with the online battles this would have never been finished. If you plan on getting this, then make sure you have a partner first. It’ll save you grinding later. #35 Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Remastered Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Remastered Uncharted is like resetting the clock. I get to work through the game again instead of just playing through my favorite segments. & if you haven’t realized yet, U3 is my favorite of them all. Brutal mode & speedrun trophies were a nice touch. Guess who had that Chp 7 speedrun segment down pat, first try #36 LEGO Marval Super Heroes: Universe in Peril (PSV) Enjoyment: 4/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Eh stumbled on a LEGO game I did not enjoy. This settled on the many problems I had with some of the collectibles. One in general had me for a few days (something in a tube that would break & get blown away if not timed right). #37 Murdered: Soul Suspect Enjoyment: 5/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Bought this hoping for something a bit like Sherlock or LA Noire. Didn’t find it here. Got it out of the way as quick as possible. #38 LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (PSV) Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Apparently I’m missing out on a big portion of gameplay by playing the Vita versions only for LEGO games. I think there’s enough to do in them myself, but I would consider playing through this one again on console. #39 Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Remastered Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 5/10 I struggled with U2 on PS3, & you can believe Brutal mode had me raging on PS4. Found a whole new plethora of places that seemed impassable for the longest time. #40 Lost Dimension (PSV) Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Forgot why I bought this one. Good gameplay though, & fairly easy. #41-50 Spoiler #41 Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune Remastered Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Facing those creatures again…on Brutal…Nah it wasn’t bad at all. Run like hell, stocked up on weapons before hand, emptied magazine into the last creature, worked out fine. Nothing was really difficult at this point (I’ve played these enough times). #42 Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (PSV) Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Closest thing I’ll ever get to Pokemon on my Vita. But reflecting on how the Pokemon games have been going lately, this was better. This game is never getting deleted from my Vita (space be damned). #43 Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Well this was certainly different from what I was expecting from a Hyperdimension game. Noire is one of my favorite characters for the series, but that had very little to do with why I enjoyed it more than the others. Most of it was from the game mechanics, surprisingly I never got tired out from the maps. #44 Persona 4 Golden Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 7/10 You know the rule: if you own a Vita…etc. So I picked this up one day. Once you get passed the long intro & fall into a dungeon, it got way better. It may have taken me awhile to finish, but it was always a nice game to jump back into. Amazing story, I feel like I was the last one on this train. I’m looking forward to picking up Persona 5 one day. #45 Conception II Children of the Seven Stars Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 7/10 Played the demo & fell in love with this dungeon crawler. I started playing this around the same time I started utilizing the Vita’s music player. It worked really well during this game & made the dungeon crawling a lot more fun. Got hung up on seeing some story events (why it took so long to finish). #46 Game of Thrones (PS4) Enjoyment: 6/10 Difficulty: 1/10 Never read or watch GoT…I’d probably like the books. This game not so much. #47 New Little King’s Story Enjoyment: 6/10 Difficulty: 6/10 I’m on the fence about this one. A port of a Wii game I didn’t quite like it at first. Came back some time later & after some catching up on controls & such I found it wasn’t as bad as I remembered. #48 Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~ Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 2/10 My second attempt at a VN on the Vita. I still like them, & my choices still get me killed in damn near every possible point. My favorite VN thus far. #49 LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean The Video Game Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Another LEGO game down. These are always nice little break games to chip away at once in a while. Even though this game was before they added voiceovers, it was just as enjoyable & humorous as any other installment. #50 Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Hmm…what to say about this game. Well as usual it was my reason for buying another PS console. I picked up my PS4 the Christmas before when the Nathan Drake Collection was out (I was waiting on a U4 PS4 but it hadn’t been announced at the time). I was concurrently dying & dreading to play this. Excited for a new Uncharted game, & worried over how they would end it. But Naughty Dog delivers & I loved this one just about as much as U3 (nostalgia will always keep that as my favorite). I will say this though; ND I’m disapointed there wasn’t a supernatural element to this game. Even a cheezy pirate curse would have been preferable to nothing. The most memorable Uncharted moments for me come end game when realism walks out the door. The fire demons in U3, tree of life sap & guardians of U2, & the most terrifying: those monsters of U1. Guess they held that all back for the multiplayer. 100% Update: Let me tell you how good it felt to get 3 stars on New Devon on crushing. It felt like clearing the room of those creatures in U1 or finally killing the grudge spider lady in The Evil Within (both were the only enemies in gaming I have ever actually raged at vocally as I was playing. One: there were terrifying. Two: hard to fucking kill). So when the final warlord went down within the time limit, it felt pretty damn good. Honestly though, I think survival on hard mode was the most difficult. My clear times for those stages were between 1-2hrs. Given, that may have to do with low level guns, character, etc. Crushing seemed more doable. #51-60 Spoiler #51 Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture Enjoyment: 4/10 Difficulty: 1/10 Another PS Plus game. Walking simulators are not really my type of game, but Gone Home was alright so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try this out. They went to a lot of trouble on those visuals, the collectibles & story weren’t too bad. #52 Stories: The Path of Destinies Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 3/10 A gorgeous game, great narrator, & funny quips. I really enjoyed the story … for around the first half dozen times. Never the less, each story was manageable to run through. #53 Legends of War (PSV) Enjoyment: 6/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Plus again (on a roll with these). An okay game that I had to come back to later on to finally finish. #54 Day of the Tentacle Remastered (PSV) Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Point & Click works fairly well on the Vita. Not as good as Grim Fandango, but still a pretty good game. #55 Hitman GO: Definitive Edition (PSV) Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Dipping my toes into these GO games & Hitman (not really). Still no patience for stealth even if the Hitman games have caught my eye more than once in the store. #56 MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Something similar to Action U, I had a bit more trouble farming items & just beating missions in general. The premise for this one was a little lack luster. #57 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 Enjoyment: 4/10 Difficulty: 7/10 A gift game that I really didn’t want to try (just because I enjoyed the books doesn’t automatically translate to I must have this game). Unfortunately it was unavoidable to add to my gamer card, so I had to finish it. No easy feat when I could only play for an hour or so before the jerky camera & blurry vanishing cloak gave me a headache. Perhaps they improved on Part 2; not sure if I’ll try it though. #58 Star Trek Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Found out there was a Star Trek game, had to have it. I loved this glitchy mess of a game. I never expected anything from it so I never took it seriously when I ran into problems. Even had a collectible trophy glitch out on me & I had to delete my save & start over again (still enjoyed it). & couch co-oping the story had my friends & I in hysterics. The only trouble I ever had with it was the space battle, other than that a great game. #59 Need for Speed: Rivals Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 5/10 The NFS games I’ve played in the past have always been good in my opinion. Grabbed this during a sale & failed poorly at both campaigns in the beginning. As a racer I always got busted, & as a cop I couldn’t catch anyone. Took awhile, but it was worth it. #60 Omega Quintet Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 7/10 My second ultra rare plat, but the first one I feel earned that rarity. I thought I’d never finish that billion approval rating. Playing through the game & post-game on advanced mode was tough enough. Chipped away little by little at that approval rating until I finally finished. Completion time was somewhere around 111 hours. #61-70 Spoiler #61 Hyperdimension Neptunia PP Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 4/10 The hardest part about this game? Finding a copy of the game. I looked for over a year for a physical copy of this game (lots red herrings). Snatched it up when I came across it since I am now determined to play through the series. Not the best (in terms of writing/story), glad it’s checked off my list. #62 World of Final Fantasy (Vita) Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Hands down my favorite FF game (followed closely by FF-0 & FFX-2). Games like this on the Vita blow me away. I can’t compare it to the PS4 version, but I had no issues with it. I believe it took around 80hrs to complete (lucked out on that mini game mirage prism). But speaking of mini games; they come close to ruining the game for me. There was plenty to do collecting mirages & playing the story, I really didn’t need the shooter one. Again, this will probably end up being another favorite of mine that never gets a sequel…one can hope though. #63 LEGO Legends of Chima Enjoyment: 6/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Just working through the LEGO games. How many to go now? #64 Until Dawn Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 1/10 I was very excited this ended up being a PS Plus game, it’s been on my radar since I got my PS4. Mainly due to the crazy Russian from Armageddon (aka: Peter Stormare) playing the psychiatrist, which ‘tailored’ the game depending on your answers. So I knew it would be good for a weekend game. I believe I read somewhere they were going to do a prequel; I’ll probably like that one even better if its an origin story of the Wendigo with the miners in the sanitorium. #65 Hakuoki: Stories of the Shinsengumi Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 1/10 Impulse buy from a Flash Sale. While I did enjoy the stories; I learned my lesson when it comes to VNs. They’re tedious on console, handheld or nothing from now on. I’m sure I’ll buy the Vita collection in a few years when I feel like replaying the story. #66 Dragon Age: Origins Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 8/10 *Not at a 100%* What to say about this amazing game…could start with the obvious it took 7yrs to get the plat (& I still have DLC to finish). It was one of the first games I got on the PS3 & I struggled with it quite a bit; mainly because I didn’t understand the importance of equipment or skills. But I’ve always enjoyed playing through the story regardless (I’ve completed it ~5x with probably double that in started playthroughs I just got too busy to finish). Overall it’s one of my top favorite games. #67 God Eater Resurrection (PSV) Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Since I quite enjoyed Freedom Wars, this seemed like a another step into the world of monster hunting. Verdict: found another series I want to play every game for. Sure I miss the vine mechanic & android from Freedom Wars; but this still has good customization options, upgradable weapons, & plenty to do. I’ll stick with GE on Vita though, so it might be awhile before a sale comes along & I can pick up the next one. #68 Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (PS4) Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 7/10 I’ll be honest about this series…I never truly expected to finish a single game. I cannot stand first person shooters. Literally; I can play for maybe an hour or two before I get a headache & motion sickness. That being said…I love Borderlands. B2 came bundled with my Vita & after a few days of considering, I finally decided to download it. No sense in a huge game with great reviews at least not getting a fair try. Could not put the game down, headache be dammed. So of course I eventually picked up the Handsome Collection so I wouldn’t miss B1.5. I’m glad I got to finish this one (only got hung up on the Felicity boss fight for whatever reason, after that smooth sailing). Whether you like this one or not, admit it, the stingray was the best vehicle. & finally we could double jump. I’ve still got to tackle B2 on all systems, but I know its doable now. #69 Life is Strange Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 1/10 I really enjoyed the rewind mechanic; specifically when 90% of the time I’m the person who chooses something & then instantly realizes that’s not what I wanted. Not much for the school drama scenario, but the story was well enough to keep wanting to play through the story. I may be in the minority here, but I chose to save Arcadia Bay & let Chloe die. #70 inFamous Second Son Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Troy Baker, yeah okay not surprising voicing in a game. Travis Willingham as his brother? Ah, hell yeah! Around the time I was finishing this game I had decided to start a relaxing Telltale game. Batman…Mmhm I really need to check the cast list before I start something. Ended up with a double shot of this duo. But onto the game: overall solid, not to long or tedious with the collectibles. Each of the powers were unique (though neon was my favorite). Bad vs good playthrough was only impactful during the final scene (dammit Delsin, after all that you just comet drop). Still unsure if I’ll pick up others in the series, I’ve been eyeing First Light for awhile now. #71-80 Spoiler #71 Batman Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 1/10 Already used the theme for the LEGO review (or lack there of). So nothing punny to use for this plat. The detective gameplay was a very good idea; but you only used it a handful of times. It would have been interesting if you could get the conclusions wrong & blame the wrong people. I’ll be picking up the other two down the road; if only to make Batman’s gear purple again. #72 Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 8/10 PS Plus rant incoming (you have been warned). I look forward to every month’s lineup announcement. Even if there’s nothing I want to play its nice to see games I may have never heard of (like Oreshika) otherwise. For each game I tend to look up some gameplay & if it has trophies, if 100% is obtainable. That being said; with the upcoming removal of PS3 & vita games to the lineup it’ll be rare for me to come across some gems like Oreshika. Don’t let the plat rarity deter you from playing. The game is great. I loved the gameplay & got quite invested in my clans progress with member leveling. The graphics were very unique & the enemy color variations helped to keep the game from getting boring during that end game grind. #73 Adventures of Mana Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Actually glad I never got to play this on the Gameboy back in the day. I’d have enjoyed it for 30min before reaching the first cave where you need to use the pic-axe on a specific point on the wall to break through. Maybe I missed something; because I didn’t notice the game telling you how items are used. So for that reason my enjoyment was hindered until I got the hang of it. #74 Tearaway Unfolded Enjoyment: 5/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Attempt two at Tearaway. Verdict: Tearaway > Unfolded. The camera was still off at times & the addition of the PS4 light became an eyesore. Great platforming with a good amount of challenge. I can’t remember everything about the vita version, but I believe the PS4 was changed/added to enough to warrant this versions release. #75 Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 3/10 U4 had me worried with the title because I’ve had so many good memories with the Uncharted series & I was loathe for it to end. But let’s be honest, Nathan Drake does not solely make the Uncharted series. & while it’s strange without Nolan North, I’m really glad the series continues on with the other characters. U:LL played like a best of moments for the series (nothing wrong with that). A refreshing jump (or push from Nadine) back into Uncharted. Hopefully the next installment will follow one of the villans, the new trio, or a young Sully (most wanted option). #76 Steins;Gate Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 1/10 Nice hefty VN I got to read over my break. Feels good to finally play a frequently suggested “most play” title; & better than that, being late to the party means I don’t have to wait or hope for a localized sequel. I’ve played a few VNs now, so I’m fairly familiar with what to expect in the gameplay & concepts department. But I like the tweeks from the norm (or at least VNs I’ve played) that SG takes. The emails are just dialogue options; yet it’s strange that the choices affect relationships when away from the character. & the D-mails for my first playthrough: leave it to me not to realize that was a choice to send or not to send. I just kept dutifully reading past the points of no return. Overall, great story with some unexpected twists & strong character backstories/endings. My only grievance: where is Daru’s backstory/ending? Everyone else gets this impactful role, but he’s just perphirally skimmed & mentioned. He’s by no means a favorite of mine, but still, strange he didn’t get one as an original lab-mem. If it’s because he’s a guy than that’s BS because Lukako reacieved one…actually I’ll stop there, because now I have an image of Daru as a girl (& it’s akin to a hippo in a tutu). #77 Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 2/10 The third game I’ve played for this series (PS only); there’s definite improvement between each one. I read some of the reviews for SH:DD & they seemed harsh on the addition of adventure/action sequences. Yeah, the game is jagged for those aspects. But it isn’t an FPS. Gotta give some credit to the ambition. Other than that, I look forward to the next SH game. #78 Grand Theft Auto V (PS3) Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 8/10 As with most gamers, I was playing GTA games long before the age limit law suggestion. The first I believe was GTA 3 (might have been 2) that my cousin let me play with him. But the first copy I owned was Vice City Stories on the PSP. So many hours & playthroughs were put into it; & I never was able to finish the story. But I did have the map & cheats (black cars, rain, tanks, invincibility, etc.) memorized. GTA 4 I played again with my cousin, but it just didn’t click with me so I never bought a copy. Obviously, I didn’t skip on 5 though. What a game. Crazy to jump from PSP to PS3 & see how much has changed yet stays familiar. The story was incredibly fun to play through with 3 characters. Going back to 100% all missions was no hassle at all. The online was always a mixed bag. Sure it was swarming with jerks just looking to ruin your time, but there was a bunch of good folks that helped out as well. My patience with randoms must be high as I only needed to boost the prison break & final heist with a group. The rest was all randoms (not reccommended at all with the servers & quitters). Crazy I was able to get 100% when I was happy to finally finish a GTA story. #79 Back to the Future: The Game (PS4) Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 2/10 I finally came back to this, 4 years later after playing that first episode on the PS3. Which also would have been my first experience with Telltale now that I realize it. That first episode I played then blew me away with the actual actors from the movie reprising their roles. Now that that’s not so unusual for me to see anymore, it still didn’t deter from playing the full game. Telltale is still my go to for those long free weekends or when I have company over that aren’t great gamers. I’d recommend it for anyone who enjoyed the movies & is need of a relaxing game. #80 Borderlands 2 (PS4) Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 4/10 See platinum #68 for more detail on my experience with the Borderlands series…& welcome back to platinum #80, PS4 copy of B2. It’s a rare game that I’ll go for 100% on another stack when I can always just play through the story again (exceptions only made for Akiba’s Strip & Uncharted series). Now Borderlands has joined that rare occurrence in part because it was already bundled with B1.5 & partly due to not having all the DLC for B2 on the Vita. Technically the vast majority of this set was completed on the Vita (I think my main character save was 200+ hours). So the difficulty is lower than that copy for playing through the DLC & raid bosses again. This version was completed first due in no large part to friends I gained through B1.5 that were available to help out & make the game a joy to complete. Here’s hoping B3 will have planet travel & Tiny Tina as a playable character. 100% Update: Surprised to see a DLC update so long after release. It makes for a good draw back into Borderlands before 3 comes out (I won't be getting it until all the DLC is out & I start to see GOTY editions). This DLC also had a nice tie in with the Tales game. It was fun for a weekend to get back to the series with my Mechromancer & DeathTrap character. #81-84 Spoiler #81 Borderlands 2 (PS3/PSV) Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 6/10 See platinum #68 & #80 for more in the series…One of the first games on my Vita; & I would have never suspected it was ported from a console version. They did a fantastic job bringing it to the handheld. When I did get a PS4 copy having gore was a bit jarring (as I would waste ammo on bodies I wasn’t used to still being on the screen), but other than that no real notable difference to me. Of course, I needed a PS3 copy to complete this. & having now played it on all 3 platforms, Vita is still the best (are you surprised). #82 Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 4/10 A really nice PS3 gem. I was fortunate enough to get the complete addition in a digital sale (recommend if you play to get the DLC as well). The story is a great adaption of Journey to the West in an post-apocalyptic world. Voice acting good, combat good, & DLC perfection following a previously un-playable character. Unfortunately, it is one of those games that ends up giving me a headache within a few hours of playing. Largely due to the camera movement/angles. So that’s why I couldn’t give it a perfect score. #83 Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Hacker’s Memory (PSV) Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 3/10 So happy to see another Digimon game release on the Vita. Not much changed in this entry, beside some special territory battles. But that makes sense when you consider the story parallels the first game. Loved this one just as much as the other. #84 Beyond: Two Souls (PS4) Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Ironically, I already had a copy of this game for PS3 that I never got around to before this one came on PS+ That’s not the first time that’s happened & I was actually glad to get this version since my PS3 refuses to read the disc. My first playthrough was co-op, not as fun as it sounds when one player gets occasional use of a tethered spirit. I felt the game played like a never ending James Bond action sequence. It had some good moments, but about halfway through I was thinking it’s gotta end soon. Nope, underwater lab sequence. Few chapters later…Now? Nope, some reactor is about to go. There were plenty of points I thought the game could end nicely much sooner. 100% Spoiler #1 Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 1/10 First 100% that I didn’t even realize at the time had trophies. I was just happy to watch the rest of the story that I admittedly never finished on the DS. Yeah I’m still stuck on that boss battle in Neverland. The damn bird with the skulls for a tail. Flying may be my favorite feature of Neverland, but I never got the hang of it. #2 Back to the Future – Episode 1: It’s About Time Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Hey it was free & Back to the Future; enough said. One day I’ll pick up the other episodes… #3 Welcome Park Enjoyment: 5/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Haha for the Vita! Seriously though, a neat intro for features. #4 Plastation Home Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Ah the memories I have with real friends & people I met through PS Home. I had some fun times with this, it was sad to see it go. So of course I had to finish my login days as soon as I heard (my sticky note tallying my days is still on my PS3 ?). #5 Run Sackboy! Run! Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Desperate for something to play on my Vita I stumbled upon this in the Free-to-play section. An easy game to play for a few minutes a day over the summer. #6 Machinarium (Vita) Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 3/10 I’ve forgotten now why I bought this…we’ll file this under “because it was available on Vita.” #7 The Walking Dead: Season 2 (PS4) Enjoyment: 6/10 Difficulty: 1/10 PS Plus game again. I liked Season 1 better, but this was still entertaining. #8 Gone Home Enjoyment: 5/10 Difficulty: 1/10 Plus. So my first intro into a walking simulator. It was okay, at least I can say I gave them a chance. #9 Beyond Good & Evil HD Enjoyment: 6/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Plus. A PS2 game I missed out on. Glad I played it now, I know it wouldn’t have been my type of game back then. I was mainly a sports game player or some RPGs, so all these old games are nice to finally be able to play & enjoy. #10 Actual Sunlight Enjoyment: 2/10 Difficulty: 1/10 Plus. Not really sure what to say for this one, except it just wasn’t for me. #11 ABZÛ Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 1/10 Plus. Beautiful game. I’ve heard people compare this as something similar to Journey, if that’s the case I may just try that game out as well. #12 Uncharted: Fight for Fortune Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 3/10 You honestly didn’t think I’d let an Uncharted game slip me by, did you? Hang in there, last one you have to read about until The Lost Legacy releases. No fun little rant for this one though. Just that I was a bit surprised how long it took me to get 100%. Not saying that’s a bad thing, just that the game was well thought out with plenty to do. #13 King’s Quest (PS4) Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Received the first chapter from PS Plus. The game sort of fell off my radar for a while since at the time I had just gotten a PS4, also not all of the episodes were out yet. Then it was just a matter of waiting on the season pass to go on sale, mix in a backlog event & voila! Finished. I have to say, chapter 1 was the best/funniest/most re-play-ability. But overall the other chapters were good as well with a nice variety of puzzles. & who can go wrong with a narrator like Christopher Lloyd? #14 The Walking Dead: Michonne Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 1/10 Revisiting the list of 100%s so far, I realize they all are either from PS Plus (& not that enjoyable), or were purchased for the Vita. Well this is a rare exception for me considering the other seasons of TWD were just okay in terms of enjoyment. At this point, zombies are more of an annoying enemy than anything scary in the game world. That being said, TWD: Michonne does an interesting job of overlaying the main characters own personal torment in the form of hallucinations, effectively telling two stories at once (both are done really well). Certainly worth a play if you see it on sale. #15 Hue (PSV) Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 2/10 One of my favorite YT channels happens to be outsidexbox (if you’ve never seen a video from them you’re missing out); watching one of their Let’s Plays first put this on my radar. & since, there has been numerous times that I saw it on sale & almost bought it. But since I’ve cut back on adding to my backlog, Hue has remained on the wishlist. So I can finally say PS+ has given me a game I actually really wanted (not that they don’t give out good ones at times, just never from my wishlist). A nice relaxing game, with a pretty good soundtrack. Admittedly, I got stuck on a few puzzles. Coming back after a few hours showed my obvious mistakes with the colors; so overall not a difficult puzzle platformer. #16 Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 3/10 PS Plus strikes again (sounding like a broken record for this section). Nice standalone DLC to fill a day with. The pirates theme was awesome; the ship battles reminded me a bit of the POTC online game. #17 Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse – Episode 1 Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Here’s Plus again seeing I get to play genres I typically don’t get around too. Point & click this time, which I’m sure I’ve noted in here before works out really well on the Vita. The voice acting (especially the accents) were well done in my opinion. Maybe that’s a common theme with this genre & I just haven’t played enough of them, or perhaps I judge these games easier because of the genre. Either way the story was interesting enough to see its completion in episode 2. #18 Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse – Episode 2 Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Someone will have to tell me if this series is the basis for the infamous unsolvable goat puzzle. I’m guessing it is with all the fuss this episode had about goats. Conclusion felt a bit rushed, but the story was resolved. #19 Nihilumbra Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Not sure if this came from PS+, but Nihilumbra is a puzzle platformer that largely reminded me of Hue. It has a similar color system to solve levels. But where Hue revealed or disappeared pieces, Nihilumbra uses colors to represent elements to clear a path. Normal mode is easy enough to get through; admittedly void mode required a video guide. #20 Hitman Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Not sure if I’ve mentioned; but my favorite YT gaming channel is OutsideXbox. & if you haven’t seen any of their videos you’d probably be wondering what the hell that has to do with Hitman. Well, one of their members (Andy) is a major Hitman fan. Akin to Rob from PlayStation Access being an absolute fan over the Metal Gear series. Needless to say I’ve watched several hours of Hitman gameplay over the years from OX. I just never thought a stealth game would be for me because I have to patience to sneak around & possible mess everything up at the end of a mission. But I liked watching the OX team take their very unique approaches to missions. Hitman is very open when it comes to completing the objectives, & even if you compromise say your disguise, there are still plenty of ways to keep going. The maps are large with numerous NPCs. Some like the movie shooting missions are almost too crowded. But it makes the game a great challenge. & it’s far from slow gameplay expected. I finally decided to take up the challenge myself from the combination of a recommendation & a coinciding sale. Glad I got around to starting it for myself. I will definitely pick up Hitman 2 at some point. AJ_Radio
Uncharted Golden Abyss fairly easy? I thought about starting it soon so I can finish off the entire Uncharted series. Even though Golden Abyss wasn't made by Naughty Dog. I'm sorry to say it but it's very unlikely we'll see a sequel to LA Noire. Team Bondi closed up shop, and Rockstar doesn't seem to care about anything else right now than maintaining GTA Online and working on releasing Red Dead Redemption 2. If you’ve played the other Uncharted games then it’ll be a breeze. Only slight grind collecting bounties, but there is chapter select so it’s not bad. I did like the shooting better in this one with gyro aiming. Yeah…I can hope though. If you know of any other games like LA Noire let me know. TristanBrown17
I can tell how much you enjoyed Wolf Among Us, but how would you compare it to the Walking Dead series? I'm going to be playing it soon for a certain event on this site, and don't know if it'll be a slog to get through or if I'll be captivated by the story. The second playthrough is a little deterring since it is a TellTale game, but maybe you can shed some light on the matter?

I would say Telltale but their games tend to end up with the same results, choices don't matter a whole lot. If you enjoy campy horror themes Until Dawn is pretty good (one of my personal favorite PS4 exclusives). I'm sure there's other 'choice dialogue' games out there but I can't think of anything more. Japanese visual novels can be quite extensive if you invest in those, but I haven't had a chance to dabble in them.

The second playthrough is a little deterring since it is a TellTale game, but maybe you can shed some light on the matter? Depends on if you like fairy tales or folklore. There’s a bunch of little lore tid bits in the story that I really enjoyed. It had more thought and flowed better than TWD series. TWD seemed to drag on for me and didn’t have an urgency to it. I got season 2 from plus (otherwise I wouldn’t have got it myself most likely). But TWAU second playthrough is no trouble at all (you can simply rewind to the part you need in the episode). I ended up doing a complete second playthrough just for fun (actually played through it about 4 times now). 6 hours ago, Spaz said: Well there's Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls. I recently picked up Beyond Two Souls (but I’m waiting till I can get a friend to sit through the co-op run with me). Telltale is usually good for a playthrough, but tends not have too much replay ability. I’ve been waiting on a sale for Until Dawn since I’ve watched some gameplay for it. It’s expense retail where I live though, so it’ll be awhile before I get it. But thanks for the suggestions. I’ll look into Heavy Rain. Feral
Nice checklist. You've got some great plats. Seeing as you like the other Sherlock Holmes games, you should check out Devil's Daughter. It's really good, much better than Crimes & Punishments.

Gretchen27
Been some busy months (gaming & in RL) so slight update to my checklist. Focused mainly on big chunks of my backlog, & I’m pretty happy with the results. Since the last update: 3 plats: DA:O, GE:R, B1.5. 100% in U4 (oh yes, survival mode on crushing). & Hue completed. Also; met my yearly goal. So I’m just gonna post the final amount for that early since I’m dying to start some new games while on break.

Gretchen27
First update of 2018 (4 months in ) Continuing to chip away at some old games got overshadowed by starting some un-played games from the backlog. Since last time: 9 plats: Life is Strange, inFamous Second Son, Batman, Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, Adventures of Mana, Tearaway Unfolded, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Steins;Gate, Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter 100%: Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry
Gretchen27
Update time I’m back on track working through backlog games. Conversely, I’ve picked up quite a few titles so the un-played backlog is growing. Lots are hefty games I’ll have to wait for a break or vacation before I jump into them (as I want to give them undivided time). Since last time: 4 plats: Grand Theft Auto V (PS3), Back to the Future: The Game (PS4), Borderlands 2 (PS4), & Borderlands 2 (PS3/PSV) 100%: Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse – Episode 1 & Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse – Episode
Gretchen27
I am so bad about updating my checklist. Okay, new goal: update at least every other month. 2019 goal is relaxed this year as I’ve amassed quite a few really great titles I’d actually like to get to soon. So after 2yrs of diligent work on the old backlog, time to start on the un-played backlog. Made a good start by joining KYC 9 this year. I still would like to maintain my completion rate, but I’ve increased the amount of unearned trophies allowed to reflect the new games started. Since last time: 16 plats: Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Hacker’s Memory (PSV), Beyond: Two Souls (PS4), Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness (PSV), The Evil Within (PS4), Spyro the Dragon, Heavy Rain, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters, Need for Speed, Sword Art Online: Lost Song, Final Fantasy X HD (PSV), Final Fantasy X-2 HD (PSV), Code: Realize – Future Blessings, Akiba’s Beat (PSV), Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate 2 100%s: Nihilumbra & Hitman Haven’t written up all of the latest additions yet. Something to work on here & there, mainly I wanted to update my backlog list.

I’m really surprised this is an ultra rare plat (my only one) The Sims 4 for PS4 also has an ultra rare platinum. Having fallen back into the Sims 4 on my PC again, I might try this since it seems certain trait-enabling cheats do not disable trophy. Once I complete my Kill Your Completion list, I might look into buying Sims 4 on PS4 since it's cheaper than on PC. If I had a backlog pyramid, I might put this on my Ultra rare list. When I platinumed this game on a very old account(because it was free on PS+ and I didn't have anything else to play), I did the same thing. I felt it was the right choice because Max had been given powers she couldn't be responsible with and now they are biting her in the keister. Letting Arcadia be destroyed would only mean that the storm might keep chasing them and destroying other towns and even the world until they were sucked up into it because the storm was a punishment of the beings that gave Max her powers for her abuse of them. It's a very deep story. I am so saddened by that story I can't play that game ever again, and the sequel is supposed to be just as sad - a boy who has gained powers of telekinesis and is hurting people around him out of anger and abuse. It hurts my heart.
Gretchen27
I really need to catch back up with this checklist before I get too far down the road… @xEl_Cidx Thank you! I see you’re closing in on that 50th milestone. Any particular game in mind for it? @RuneEyesDragon Also, there’s The Sims 3: Pets with an UR plat. Which I coincidentally started for a KYC event. My aims to complete that one first before buying The Sims 4. No worries, 4 has always been on my radar ? Life is Strange was fine to play over a few days, but I wouldn’t want to have that much angst in every story I play. That’s partly the reason I’ve steered clear of 2, that & it’s not all out yet. With the whole end game choice though my thought process was Acadia Bay may not be perfect, but that still doesn’t mean everyone deserves to perish. Chloe’s story is unfair & tragic, still the girls had their good times.
xEl_Cidx
I think I will make Batman my 50th plat! or
Gretchen27
@xEl_Cidx Go for it! ? Both of those are great choices, but I think Batman (PS4) has the better plat name for the milestone.
