After five seasons of reviving the Team League, I thought it was time to revive some of the other popular leagues from the past. About every month or so, I will either continue with another season of the current revived league, return to an old revival, or revive a completely new thread! The RTHL has a bit more history than the Team League, so most of the rules are pretty solid and will stick around. That being said, I'm trying some new stuff out, so it'll probably take a season or two to work the kinks out. Legend of the Rare League: Like all of my revivals, we can't dive into the fun without first giving credit to the original league owners. Back in 2014, just after the THL was formed, ExHaseo created the first ever Rare THL. Accommodating to trophy hunters who liked the idea of being in a league but didn't want to "pollute" their accounts with "low-quality" games, this league was highly successful...for two seasons. After that, ExHaseo had to give the league up for personal reasons. Luckily, vjuchen stepped up and made a second league, which went on for an additional ten seasons. The hype for the Rare THL never really died. Vjuchen just had to eventually step down (also for personal reasons). The league was missed, so I'm not surprised it was voted to be revived. Main Rules: Spoiler For twenty days, everyone will get as many trophies possible, earning points via the layout below. Every five days, scores will reset, and players will be ranked based on their scores. The bottom score will have a score of one, second to last will have two, third to last three, and so on. Rankings will be updated a total of four times, the final score having a maximum of four times the number of participants. At the end of twenty days, there will be a one-day break, followed by a CWC between the top four contenders. There have been multiple interpretations on what CWC stands for, but here, it means Colossal Worldly Championship. In the CWC, participants will compete for three days, scores resetting each day. The participant with the lowest score will be eliminated after each day, and the winner will be the last person standing. The timezone for this league is GMT. Point Rules: Spoiler All bronze, silver, and gold trophies will have a base score of 1 point. Platinums will have a base score of 10 points. Point multipliers will go into effect based on rarity. Common are x0, uncommon are x1, rare are x5, very rare are x10, and ultra rare are x20. Auto-popping is not allowed. A game with the same trophy list will not be counted twice (different region/system). Any game with a 50th completion time of under 10 hours will not count (if a game has less than 50 achievers, it counts). Rarity will be judged at the time of each five-day period, not when the trophy is earned. Scores will be counted immediately after each period is over, so no late syncing! If a game is less than a month old, it won't count (because getting UR Telltale trophies is pretty ridiculous). In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by the number of platinums, followed by number of ultra rare, then very rare, then uncommon, then common. If someone earns no trophies in a period, he/she will earn no points (though having just common trophies can still potentially earn you points). At the end of the season, first place will have 20 bonus points the first round of the CWC, 10 the second round, and 5 the third. Second will have 10 bonus points the first round and 5 the second round. Third will have 5 bonus points the first round. If a player has an overall score less than 20, he/she will be unable to compete in the following season.
