Just watched Seasons 1 and 2 of the Boys with my friend. There were one or two cringey moments and sometimes the solutions to problems felt a little too easy but this show was absolutely fantastic. The characters are incredibly well written and so much absolutely crazy stuff happens. I can't describe this show in any way other than insane and I mean that in the best way possible. If i had to rate it so far i'd give it a 95/100

The Chase (ABC)

Great game show with Sara Haines from Good Morning America and three of Jeopardy's greatest champions- James "The High Roller" Holzhauer, Ken "The Professor" Jennings, and Brad "The Buzzsaw" Rutter - as the Chasers. Play the Cash Builder round to build up $25.000 per correct answer, then go against the day's Chaser answering multiple choice questions. Before you start, the Chaser offers you extra cash to take a lesser lead. Both of you move down the board by giving right answers. Get to the bottom and your money is banked. If you get caught, the money is forfeit and you leave the game. The remaining players play a Final Chase for a share of the bank. You go first and try to build your lead up with correct answers in 2 minutes. Next, the Chaser has 2 minutes to overtake you. You can send the Chaser back a space by correctly answering any questions he gets wrong. If the Chaser's time runs out, you win.

This is a good show. It's been around on GSN once before and I liked that one. This new version is even better. The debut episode was dedicated to the late Alex Trebek (I miss him).

Name That Tune - It was a 2 hour block on Wednesday, since the Masked Dancer has ended. Another 2 hours next week, and then that's it for now. I'm sure going to miss this... hopefully it will be back for next season. Jane Krakowski has done a good job hosting it. Randy Jackson's band plays a nice selection with various genres. The next song could be one by Snoop Dogg, Frank Sinatra, Britney Spears, Pitbull, John Legend, Donna Summer, or Dolly Parton for example. It could even be a traditional tune like Take Me Out to the Ball Game or a Christmas carol. One thing I'd change would be how the audience goes "oooooh" or "whoaaaaah" after every bid in Bid-A-Note. Wait until the bids get low, maybe less than 4 notes. Part of the fun is trying to name a song before the contestants.

The Chase - James Holzhauer was the Chaser this time.

The Hustler - Season finale. I love the unique, atmospheric stage design for this one, which looks not at all like a typical game show set. It's more like a mansion library. Hustler is a little slow moving but picks up after questions 3 and 6, which are followed by an elimination. Then the player who goes home is escorted out a secret passage hidden in a bookcase. Psyching out the other players is as much a part of this as banking money with right answers.

WandaVision

Loved the show. Loved the idea with the old sitcoms. Loved how authentic each era of televeision felt. The shots they used, the laugh tracks, the "interview" bits, the sound design were all perfect. Not even talking about the intro songs. Loved Elizabeth Olsen's an Paul Bettany's performances. Kathryn Hahn was amazing as well. I laughed like a madman at that joke about biting a kid. Also enjoyed going straight to reading the theories and discussing what happened with friends after each episode. Hadn't felt similar excitement in a long time. Probably since the last season of Mr. Robot.

The finale coud've been better. I wasn't disappointed with the "Boner" reveal (this must sound very weird for people who haven't seen the finale and/or the whole series, lol), or lack of cameos. I kinda felt like there wasn't enough resolution for some characters or plotlines, and maybe some things like Wanda's mental health at the end could've been explored a little deeper. But that's the only thing which I thought could've been better.

So yeah, I'd say the first MCU mini-series is a success. Excited to see the next shows. Especially Loki, which is supposed to be wild from what I've heard about the premise. And definitely excited for Doctor Strange 2.

I finished Game of Thrones tonight. I finally got to experience the infamous season 8.. massively disappointing, I don’t think I could ever rewatch the series now. Such a shame, the earlier seasons were so damn good! 1f641.png

You'd be surprised, in fact watching it a second time you catch on to a lot of things that were confusing or hard to understand at the time because of everything that's going on and all the names. And the lore is more fleshed out because you already know the names. So don't count a second watch out yet!

I watched it for a second time with the family this past fall, so that was about a 9-10 month spread. And you may come to terms with the final season like I did, and eventually say ya it could have been better, but for what it was, it was good enough. It's a hard show to end for writers, I would say almost impossible.

But congrats on watching! It's such a great show. The sad part is you'll always compare whatever you watch to it now. And it's a highhhh bar
