The lockpicking puzzle

On chapter 1 I am on the part where you have to use the wire to lockpick the door and so far, this puzzle is already a pain in the ass. I tried watching a walkthrough of it but I don't think it looks exactly what it should look like compared based of what I seen. Even worse is the ps3 version keeps on freezing exactly at that part that makes me even more annoyed of how stupid the puzzle is. Can anyone gather some helpful hints of how to solve the puzzle exactly? Another reason on why I hate puzzle games so much that annoys me like this.
