Popular Post ShadowStar83x
Level 5 has confirmed that Ni No Kuni II will now be released in January 2018. http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2017/07/13/ni-no-kuni-2-release-date-delayed-to-january-2018/ However, it was also confirmed there will be no multiplayer. The Level 5 president said there would be at E3, but he misunderstood the question. Sucks it was delayed, but at least no multiplayer. Game like this doesn't need it! Karnacharya
I agree with everyone else. Good news all around - I have no interest in MP, and I'm happy they're taking extra time to improve what will probably be a stellar game.
Undead Wolf
No multiplayer? There's hope for this game yet. And yeah, I don't mind the delay at all. I've got plenty of other JRPG's I need to play first.
Han_the_Dragon
That's double good news for me (I never wanted MP... and I'm spending way to much money on games.. hopefully things will slow down during this half of the year for the kind of games that I usually buy..). Elvick_
Not sure why people are so against MP. Tales has MP, and it doesn't take away anything and afaik there's been zero trophies related to playing with anyone else. If it did have MP, we'd have no idea what it would actually be like and it could be as non-intrusive as Tales is. Granted, I don't care it won't have MP, just think the hard stance against it [when we knew nothing about it] is a bit odd.

yellowwindow7
Tbh both are a good news to me, this game will be the next horizon zero dawn to me. I got a copy of horizon physically last month and just waiting for my brother to done finish it on his account so i'll start working and enjoy it. both are good news to me because delaying it will at least give the devs more time to polish the game even farther, while no MP mode mean no online trophies BS . all so far sound good and all but I was wondering.... please tell me that there's no stupid things on ni no kuni 2 like collecting some sort of a battle cards or need to go fishing 10.000 times or worst case scenario, go to a cassino and win big at the pachinko machine 200 times. really hated the casino part in the first game, it's all luck based and there was a trophy behind it, plus Oliver the hero of the first game his age was like 12, 13 or 14 or something how is been allowed to enter the casino is beyond me, since almost all the games I played had a rule of not allowing under age to enter the casino. Evil_Joker88
And here's another YAY no mp Delaying the game isn't a good news but some games showed that being released on a certain set date is even worse... technical issues i mean which were fixed months later... so yes, better release a bit later and deliver a better game
Edunstar84
Best news ever! More time to save for the epic Collector's Edition - assuming it's as good as the first one. Edited July 13, 2017 by Edunstar84
Raidou Kuzunoha XIV
I'm actually glad it's been delayed, because I have a lot of games pre-ordered in October and November, so it's going to do a serious number on my wallet, lol. And of course, no multiplayer is good news. I still kinda need to beat the first game as well, at least the final boss, which I've been procrastinating on for several months because I was under-leveled when I got to that point, and can't really be bothered to go back and grind. Well.. there's Digimon Cyber Sleuth MP Maybe it is just me but there are some genre that I find best to be played, experience and enjoyed alone... JRPG is one of them. I find putting MP/Co-op stuff so unnecessary. anyway... quick q: is the Jan 2018 release date is for WW or just for Japan? I remember that Ni No Kuni: WotWW's NA was released 1 year after the Japan's release.

I was going to bitch about the delay (and it still worries me a bit), but that's great news! Also, I guarantee that the president didn't "misunderstand" the question. I would guess that the blowback to the idea of MP in this game probably caused the delay, as they race to fix what shouldn't have been broken in the first place. 20 hours ago, Elvick_ said: Not sure why people are so against MP. Your point is valid, but in more modern times , when MP is introduced in traditionally SP RPGs, the SP seems to suffer for it. Look at Mass Effect, e.g. While the MP might be superb, the SP (specifcally of ME3, though I've heard horror stories about Andromeda as well) has been dumbed down significantly. Maybe MP is just a bogeyman to be blamed for all of a game's woes, but that's the nature of the beast. 6 hours ago, MMDE said: Hopefully they get actually make a good battle system this time... never been impressed by their battle systems, so I don't expect too much this time either. audiopile
They can add MP to every game for all I care, just don't make me play it for trophies.

ME3's SP campaign was pretty bad. It was dumbed down significantly from ME2, and honestly, feels even less evolved than the original ME. Whether that was the fault of MP is unclear (after all, Dragon Age: Inquisition had MP, and its SP campaign was fantastic), but I need a narrative. Spelunkette
The lack of multiplayer was the only shortcoming of the original Ni No Kuni for me. No, not Pokémon-esque familiar battling / trading (as cool as that too could have been), but just the kind of each player controls a party member during battles from JRPGs I grew up with—from FFVI through Tales of Symphonia. I hoped that's what the sequel might have brought back for me and my partner who likes to watch me play but rarely gets to be involved in story-driven games, and I'm kind of disappointed it won't. I get being glad for no multiplayer trophies or content locked behind multiplayer progress, but all this cheering over a lack of any multiplayer in general is kind of odd to me, and I hope it doesn't deter developers trying fun or simple MP ideas in the future. Still, Ni No Kuni is my favorite RPG I've played since FFXII and DQ VIII, so I'm still more than excited for the sequel! SkyMason
Very much looking forward to this but thought the first game was one of the most boring games I've played in my life, which was incredibly disappointing, as I'd loved every Level-5 JRPG up to that point. The battle system in the first game was just so, so bad and dull it completely killed the experience for me. Really liked the new combat in the new trailers though, so hopefully the delay means they really are just making sure this is a solid release. The Casino was not all luck. If you knew how to play your cards, you could win 75% of the time at the Bishop, King, Joker, card game. The dealer never changes her strategy which made her that much easier to beat. You must've played the wrong game or were extremely unlucky, because I was able to do this in less than an hour. OT: I was okay with multiplayer as long as it wasn't tacked on. I think that's the real reason people didn't want it. They were scared it'd suck. Oh well, guess we'll never see it now. I'm fine with a delay. The PS4 backlog is getting out of hand anyways atm. Need to start knocking them out...
