License is expired on free PS+ download?

A friend of mine has bought his first PS4 2 months ago and he has bought a PS+ subscription, so I told him about the free games each month and he downloaded this month's free Until Dawn and Game of Thrones games. When Game of Thrones was downloaded and installed, he wanted to play it but he gets the following message:

"Can't use content. You're license is expired.

If you want to use the content, buy a new license in the Playstation Store."

I've never had issues like that before, so I don't really know what to do to help him with this. Did any of you have experience with this issue ?

Has his PS+ subscription expired? You need to have an active PS+ subscription to access the games acquired from PS+.

/facepalm.

Haha, I just checked his name in my friends list and -indeed- the PS+ icon next to his name is gone. ? So obvious I didn't check that first.
