Popular Post Sergen
Although this game is kind of old, it's still a desired 0.09% and 0.11% platinum for the PS4 versions and the platinum is still obtainable for all versions, so I decided to make a video that explains various useful Solomon Grundy combos that you can use in most Battle Mode challenges, the only battle mode challenges you can't use these combos in are Random Fighter and Mirror Match, unless of course you get chosen as Solomon Grundy during any of the fights in those battles. My only intention here is to help people with advice for Battle Mode, so anyone who complains about this is either jealous or angry that I'm trying to help people get your "exclusive platinum". I have to say this because I've met dickheads who try to sabotage threads in the past. The rarity of Ultimate Battler is 0.17% and 0.18% respectively on the PS4 versions of the game. I also think it is the most difficult trophy on this entire game. Below is an image of the combos I recommend you to use throughout battle mode, the controller layout is default PS4 controls, if you changed your controls then you will need to see what you have changed various inputs to independently. The term "tech trap" means when the AI blocks your attack and you follow it up with a grab (). It is also worth noting that to do a meterburn attack, you need at least one bar of meter, meterburns are mostly applied by pressing at the same time as a button input or a second after a button input, but not every move has a meterburn variant. And below is the video with commentary that tries to explain these combos and demonstrate them. I recommend you learn these combos before attempting battles such as The Max and Impossible Battle, you can just go into practice mode and learn them, once you've got those combos down, I recommend you to try to fight AI opponents on The Max, of course you might be nervous and struggle initially, but with these combos you will certainly be able to get through it with patience. Hogie838
Thanks for this guide @Sergen I’ll give it a go for next few days if I can get the combos to work. Though I’m shit at fighting games and it’s already wrecking my head ?. It may have to join the others in the Phantom Zone...

Johnnybaz85
Amazing work. Thinking of trying to re-consider this games platinum ( i must be crazy right ) so would these combos still be viable now with all the new patches? Any tips with Grundy for Ultimate Battler? Combos are still viable. My tip would be to choose reliability over flashiness, you don’t really need to launch the opponent with back/forward x, you can just press X to send the opponent flying much faster, and you still do more than 1/3 of the opponent’s HP. The second combo in the image is probably the best opener when fighting AI at the hardest difficulty, it’s a bit riskier, ironically enough, when it’s not at the hardest difficulty setting though.
