It is very close between FFVII and FFX but I have more fond memories of VII so I'll go with that one. I enjoyed The Legend of Dragoon more than any FF game though...

FFVII and FF Tactics are the only ones I liked.

You know it's funny because when Tacticts came out I thought it was horrible as it was such a deviation and didn't have deep, rich story like the recent predecesors. I bet I would appreciate that game way more now than I did back then.

Since i only played FF13 and FF13-2 i would say both were good

Its close between Final Fantasy 7 and X. I found X more emotional and loved the sphere grid, but 7 had the overall better story.

 

7 was also the first RPG i played many years ago when my brother bought it.

 

Edit: I voted X, cause im super hyped for the HD release.

Definitely VII, it got me into RPGs and completely blew my tiny little mind at the time. While it's always going to remain my favorite in the series for nostalgic reasons, I have to say I don't think it's necessarily the best. Objectively speaking that would probably have to be VI.

FF XIII-2 is also good but i really suck at the paragradim shifting..

VIII was my first Final Fantasy game, but I have gone back & played the majority of the others (including Mystic Quest)

Well I gotta say mine will forever be X. i have put far to meany hours into that game and I'm going to be putting much more in the HD remake. But IX is also right up there. =P

The best one for me is Final Fantasy X. It was the first ps2 Game i played, and my first Final Fantasy. I love the story.
I remember how i broke my controller in that Chocobo Challenge...

For me It was FFXII. I loved everything about that game  and was the only reason I kept my ps2 for so long. I hope they make an HD version of this game or put the ps2 version to buy on the PlayStation store.

even though this is a Playstation site maybe we should add Crystal Chronicles (from GameCube)... it was my favorite GameCube game... and the GameCube was one of my favorite systems other than the first two originals...

 

anyway, back on topic... my favorite to this day is still FF12...

There are so many good ones. Although I think FF6 and FF7 are the best, FF8 will always be my favorite.
