1001 nights trophy

I am on year 2328 and it still hasn't popped on my main City, I also have about 50 years between two other cities, I'm not sure if my game is bugged or something else. I read on a steam forum the night cycle is slowed down by a higher populated city but I'm not sure if it works the same for ps4 version, but I have had around 80k - 140k city consistently on my main city and I have seen so many nights ?

My city was in the 210K population trying to get the Arc de Triumph (15000 students) and I got 1001Nights in 2318, so I don't know if that's the case. Did you remember to enable "use Day/Night Cycle" in the In-Game Settings, found in options?

Yeah I have the Day/Night Cycle switched on, I think it is bugged, Iv read loads about the Steam version with people getting it in different years, but I didn't think it would be the case for Ps4. I'd love to know what year others got it in to see if it is the case though.

I have started a brand new city too that I might just leave as 0 population and let it run while rubber banded and hopefully it will pop, im just not ready to leave my PS4 on idle for almost two weeks yet.

My trophy popped on 16/11/2232. This was actually my 3rd city, and one I just let run with 0 population. My first city ended up on 26/7/2052, but it was off a save game that was saved and reloaded many times while trying to unlock all the milestones, so the actual amount of time spent on it I cannot say. My second city only went until 17/4/2026 before I went back to trying to revive my first city.

Game too slow with hight population. Use new map idle If you want get 1001 nights trophy faster

Play on PS4 Slim.

First city. 160K population, ~100K buildings

12:00) test begins in 10/05/2221

13:00) 10/06/2222

14:00) 30/06/2223

15:00) 15/07/2224

1 hour = 1 year + 1 month or 400 days

Second city. New map, 0 pop, 0 buildings

16:00) test begins in 06/12/2017

17:00) 15/12/2019

18:00) 22/12/2021

19:00) 30/12/2023

1 hour = 2 year + 8 days or 740 days - Almost two times faster!

I play on an OG PS4. One day at 3x speed can take 12-15 seconds on my main city. On a city that has nothing it takes a little less than 5 seconds. This amount of slowdown is absolutely ridiculous. If any other game had slowdown like this it would be unplayable. Add in the fact that there is a trophy for 1001 nights in the game.

If you are like me you probably got all the other trophies within maybe 35-45 hours. So now I am going to idle my Playstation on a new map with no population for nearly 100 hours just to get the last trophy (and Platinum). This is by far one of the dumbest trophies I have ever seen. I know what you are thinking, "Just play the game and enjoy it." I did play it and enjoy it. However, seeing as how the game runs 2-3 times slower on a city with any significant amount of population the 100 hours would turn into 200-300 hours.

This game could benefit from some kind of scenario system. Imagine they set you up with a half broken city and you have to fix within a certain time limit or budget. Something other than the unique buildings that make you play the game in a different way. Just a thought... I know there is DLC out now and more coming but it doesn't seem like those are adding much actual content.

Third city, 0 population, year 2319 still no 1001 nights trophy for me.

I see people earning this trophy all the time so I don’t understand why mine hasn’t popped.

First city 2348 with a huge population, no trophy.

Day and night cycle is enabled so that’s not an issue.

Anyone else had this problem?

Damn so basically talking about playing 300+ years in-game in order to get this. I got to like the year 2038 on one, and am now in 2046 in another so barely even 1/3 of the way there. Guess I'll just leave her running over night on a 0 population map. Wonder why the devs insisted on making it take this long to get. Simply playing to the year 2100 on a single map would have made for a funnier / statistically impressive trophy.

The 5.01 patch increased the speed of the 3x speed option. When I achieved the trophy prior to 5.01 one day took ~5 seconds. Now with the patch installed it takes ~2.5 seconds (tested on a 0 population map). This might be a bug, so better hunt that trophy down before it gets fixed.

Edit: Patch 5.02 is out. It fixes the issue. 3x speed is back to 5 seconds.

i should have read that a long time ago.. my average day is around 13.5sec at max speed. with an average city of 284k people...

My PlayStation have been on for 5 full days now,  and i'm only on Day 2163 on my first city.. ridiculous achievement. All i'm doing now is emptying the cemetery and the Landfill site.

And Launching the Rocket #50

And i'm 2 and a half years after you haha. Quarantine 2020.

I count a day at 5 seconds on an empty map. I suggest changing to an empty map and hoping that it is cumulative.

So far I have spent 88 hours idling my PS4, up to year 2195, for this POS trophy. Surely there must have been a point during QA testing where someone thought "maybe this is a bit too long". What was even the point in this making it this long?

88h to 2195 is pretty awesome.  i'm at more than 144 hours straight started on the 3rd or 4th of june today is the 10th and i'm at 2168. so ya i think i'll let it go and go for an empty map. if it would have been in game nights and not in game night/day cycle  that would have been good to go. but the waiting on this is pretty ridiculous.

A day/night cycle takes 113 ingame days on max speed. So you'd need to progress 310 ingame years, or 157 real time hours.

Progress towards the trophy is counted across multiple cities.

Hey guys!

I did the maths by myself and I can confirm that the above layout still works (as of today 20th of June 2020).

A full day/night cycle in an empty map needs around 4 months (it is around 115 days/30 = 3,8 months) and 3,8 months in full speed need exactly 9,5 minutes real life time.

That said, 3,8 months x 1001 nights = 3.800 months (= 158 hours!)

3.800 months / 12 months per year = around 317 years

So we have to reach year 2020+317= 2337 starting from scratch and have 0 buildings in our map. Also, as said, 3,8 months need 9,5 minutes. So 3.800 months need around 9.500 minutes or 158 hours! Or alternative, 1 year in-game needs 30 minutes real life time.

Taking into consideration that you have already played some hours in another city / cities and having on all the time the “day/night cycle” option, I believe that we have to reach around year 2300 for the trophy to pop up! I am currently at year 2266 in my empty Citi and I have also played around 50 years in my other cities. (120k pop).

Can someone tell me how long or what year they got to in order to unlock the 1001 nights trophy?

Mine just popped today at about the year 2315.

I played the game 'properly' until getting all the good things done and built a wonderful city of 300k.

Then

I get all the bad stuff to add on years. Then I actually took my PS4 to work where I let it run from Monday to Friday with is rubber banded circling camer on a 0 populated city straight easily 120 hours and still was not done.

Thankfully it was finished today for me.
