Corrupted data after installing patch

Before launching the game today, I decided to download the most recent patch and install it. After everything was ready I started the game and had the very unpleasant surprise to discover that all of my saves (quick saves and manual ones) had disappeared with that pretty "save corrupted" message when the game checks for the trophies. I'd like to know if anyone has encountered the same problem. I suppose I don't have any other option than to start from stratch again. 

 

Also, can someone tell me if I was near the end of the story?

You were very close to the end of the route you were on. It should be easy enough to skip to where you were before though.

 

The patch is a common problem. I installed it initially so I had no problems with it, but if you do it during your playthrough it corrupts your saves.

Auto-mode is not working anymore and the game keeps crashing if I try to load a save while already playing. 

I love it when patches bring even more trouble than they solve (especially when the biggest issues have not been addressed). 

I'll try to clear the plat in the next few days because the possibility of another corrupt data episode is making me anxious.
