fbdbh
Okay, could somebody clarify this: for the 100 000 rings you should play 1000 levels? How long is this game? Based on this, I would estimate this platinum to be around 80 hours. Is this correct?

It takes 1:40 per run and you can easily get 999 rings. The last 60k rings I needed for the platinum took about 3 hours. Platinum time is probably somewhere around 20-25 hours. It's a fairly short game but it makes you replay levels excessively.

The stage is 1:35-140 a run, so a little quicker. Also remember to change the difficulty in the main menu to hard so the cap limit goes up, that's if you're playing on normal where the max is 100. But yeah the game is around 20-25 hours to platinum, i've done it both on PS4 and Xbox One. My stats on Xbox One say I played 23 Hours and 18 minutes, so that should tell you how spot on Shadiochao is about the completion time.
TwilightSpira
I started last night and the game looks super fun, it's the same gameplay from previous 3D instalments so I understand the criticism, even trough it doesn't bother me much. The usual speed runs are also part of the challenges, so will be fun
ThiophenSJ
As someone who has kinda mixed feelings about Sonic games (liked Sonic Adventure 2, Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Sonic Generations; disliked/ hated classic Sonic games, Sonic Heroes, Sonic and the Black Knight, Sonic Unleashed), do you guys think Sonic Forces would be of my liking? I don't really need the one Sonic game that makes me love the whole series, it's fine if Sonic Forces is just an okayish game, but I often heard it's similar to Generations? I'd like that. But then again, I wouldn't want the platinum to be too difficult, so how is the difficulty? Thanks for the heads up in advance.

The story is great, but the gameplay seems lacking. The levels are far shorter than you'd expect when comparing it to Sonic Generations. If I had to be honest, I really love this game, but Sonic Generations is superior to this game. Don't get me wrong, though. Still a must play for any Sonic fan. Difficulty? I'd give it a solid 4/10. Maybe some difficulty spikes here and there. Edited November 15, 2017 by Froopy

I dunno, I feel less frustrated playing this game in comparison to generations, it might be because they've gotten rid of the lives feature and so you just restart at the checkpoint you finished from instead of the entire level. This one certainly has more replay value too )especially if we get additional dlc support). I also like the avatar functoion and experimenting with the different wispons makes for different experiences. Thats my take anyway.

I'd agree that lives feature was a pain in the buttocks when it came to Generations. Although, from a trophy perspective, you only have to worry about lives while getting red rings and S rank in the stages (Boss Stages don't count, except the last one because it has a trophy for not getting hit). I still love the games though. And a friend of mine pointed out, since Sonic Mania ties in with Sonic Forces, if you think of the games as one, then it's really not all that short. I understand some of the criticism but I don't fully agree with some of the bashings, Sonic forces is a solid entry.

All because of the speedrun challenges. Do you know how many times I have to replay that damn Infinite stage to get under 135 seconds?!?! Sonic is SO inconsistent with his homing attack. I thank God that I don't have to speedrun anymore and I got the platinum. Just be happy Sonic 06 didn't have a platinum. I maxed the achievements out on 360, and that was FAR more tedious and painful than Unleashed.

TwilightSpira
I'm actually enjoying this game a lot. It's very pretty to look at and so lighthearted, typical Sonic. The trophy list is also excellent, this game was made to be replayed. I'm also enjoying a lot those speed run challenges, the game feels great, even trough some segments are annoying to pull off. I thought so too at first (just platinumed a couple nights ago) When all was said and done, I had all trophies EXCEPT 50k rings and 100k rings. I think trophy list would have been perfect if they had scrapped the 100k ring one, and just made 50k rings a silver. When everything else was done, I ran through extra stage 6 130+ times to farm remaining rings. 125 of those runs was getting the extra 50k rings after the 50k ring trophy unlocked to get the 100k ring trophy.
TwilightSpira
Hey guys so I finished every speed run apart from the last one and the level 27 was indeed one of the trickiest. If anyone is having trouble feel free to let me know your thoughts. Don't worry about spoilers because I made sure the thumbnails were spoilers free 1 hour ago, KyonKuchiki said: I thought so too at first (just platinumed a couple nights ago) When all was said and done, I had all trophies EXCEPT 50k rings and 100k rings. I still think level 25 is the best for 100k grind. You can easily hover or burst your level around 1 minute a a half and collect 999 each run Edited November 20, 2017 by Mah2c
