Popular Post Kevvik
Finished another of the games this month, MeiQ Labyrinth of Death. Really this is life I'm not going to get back. Sick in bed with pneumonia and my life still could have been more productive than the end game grind to the platinum. I've cursed this game now on other posts so I'll minimize it here. You need 30k kills but can finish pretty much everything in a little over 10k. After that its grind for the sake of grinding. Finished the 30k kills and still had 2000 battles left in order to finishing levelling the forms (outfits) for the main character. Don't play this game if you enjoy going for platinums. The time may not be excessively long but you will want to claw your eyes out at many later points on the way there. Trophies earned: 37/37, 100% for S rank Time played: maybe 60 hrs? (no idea really but last 20-25 just felt pointless, I could have accomplished more for the human race living out Seinfeld episodes) Final rating: 2/10 (score above 0 reflective that early times were OK, end times were really really wasted) I really can't recommend this game. Been playing it for the past 2 weeks, and only managed to earn a few trophies. Though I am committed to finishing the game. Here's my original list. Popular Post ladynadiad
So since others are posting progress since KYC2, may as well post some of mine since I've made progress in nearly all the games, though still only the two plats. Pretty much I played a ton of Muramasa Rebirth the past couple of months and all I have left now are fury runs and speed runs in both base game and DLC. Fury difficulty is aptly named because it can cause a great amount of fury from the player after they die from some cheap unblockable attack from a boss yet again. Still, it's great progress and I'll eventually go back and try to get the plat and 100%, I just put it aside for now for another Vita game. I went back to Resonance of Fate for a bit to get it up to a D rank, and actually started liking it more once I understood better how the combat worked. Hero actions really make the combat a ton more fun and tri-attacks make bosses quite doable. I'll go back for the plat on that one eventually, just not anytime soon since it is a harder plat that requires two playthroughs. I'm actually currently working on Final Fantasy XIII's plat. I'm up to chapter 11 in it now when I stopped at chapter 3 during the event. Can't really say I like it much better now, the combat is still insanely boring, the characters not very likable and I can't find much of a reason to care about the plot, but I want to finish it and get it off my backlog since it's not a difficult plat, just a grindy one. This will probably be my next plat from this event. Time and Eternity still at 18% Final Fantasy XIII 4% after event, up to 24% Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny 4% after event, up to 10% Resonance of Fate 4% after event, up to 10% Muramasa Rebirth 18% after event, up to 80% htoL#NiQ - The Firefly Diary 6% after event, up to 37% Mind Zero Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll Ateiler Rorona 4% after event, up to 8% And I also have regained my completion and then some at this point. Up at over 85%. Still not sure if I'll join in on the next one, especially since I have set myself a goal of starting no new PS3 games until I get my incomplete PS3 games below 5 and I'm at 9 right now, but I may do a 5 game one with some Vita games and PS4 games. Probably will depend on what I have to play still before the next one.

I also liked doing the missions. I have to go back to Muramasa Rebirth as well. I didn't really play so much, but would probably go back to SAO: HF first. Good luck on your other games. Mendant909
Not sure how active this thread is anymore, but this is a heads up to any participant from this or any previous KYC event. If anyone is interested in a NA PS4 digital copy of South Park: The Stick of Truth, PM me for a free copy. I'm not interested in replaying it and I might as well give it away before the code expires at the end of the month.
Popular Post Kevvik
There doesn't seem to be much going on here but I'll throw another update out. I've finished my third of the KYC5 games, gaining the platinum in Quest of Dungeons. This was an enjoyable 2D dungeon hack'n'slash that plays smoothly enough that even the end game grind, though longer than the main game itself, wasn't very painful. I just enjoyed playing this game even with the OP assassin and crappy magic balance. Trophies earned: 26/26, 100% for S rank Time played: ~35 hrs Final score : 7/10 Did some time on Dark Cloud 2 as well but still a long way to go. Here are my new stats: Completion Rate now: 80.19% (-1.29% from the start of KYC5) Event trophies: 214 of 373 trophies earned, 159 unearned trophies remaining for this event's games Still more recovery to go. Hopefully, I'll make a bit more recovery before the next one starts. Edited February 10, 2018 by Kevvik
voodoo_eyes
I've only gotten back to one game from KYC 4 recently, which is Dead Effect 2. Probably the game with the most incorrect trophy descriptions ever. Still have 10 trophies to go, out of which 3 are grind heavy. I'm also planning on picking up FF XV again, as I'm nearing my 250th plat and want to make that game the milestone for it. I tried giving Foul Play another go, but it still hurts my hands. For the next KYC installment I'd probably go with fewer games, if the option is given. Edited February 10, 2018 by voodoo_eyes
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Well, the grind for Dead Effect 2 is over. That wraps up all the games from KYC 4. Opinions didn't really change for this one either. It's an ok game, wuth several exceptionally boring grinds at the end. Best to worst pretty much remain the same. Sorry to hear you had the same thing I had last week. It sucks to be filled with fluid all week and cough it up over and over, never getting any sleep. I'm sorry about the game too. I am a bit used to grinding but from the sound of it, I would have Hell with this game. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm not above a grind as long as there seems a point (find better gear, develop new skills, even unlocking outfits/appearances). The only point here was the trophy and a couple things unlocked by the number of kills but you can do everything else in the game by 10k kills so having to a crap load more battles to level up your outfits (with no visible changes and no obvious effect on stats since they are long since maxed out) and get to 30k kills with only a trophy for motivation just felt pointless. It's too bad because the game wasn't unenjoyable until plummeting down the grind path.
DamagingRob
Really got lazy with updating here.. Just got the Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator Plat this morning, and got 3 others since my last post (Gal*Gun, Indigo Prophecy, and Yakuza 4). Completion percentage just continues to go up, a little bit at a time.

I did enjoy and beat this game on the PS2 but that one trophy in the port requiring you to farm a super-rare monster for its rare drop was the straw that ruined the camel's back. I feel it becomes a problem, when the gameplay doesn't make the process enjoyable or at least tolerable. That comes down to personal preference I guess. Okage had far worse issues than just the grinding though, which is why to me it's one of the worst RPGs I've played so far. OT: Actively started to get back into Final Fantasy XV, which I hope to complete sometime next month. Making decent progress so far, even though I'm only in Chapter 3, but I'm going ham on the side quests now, so that I can eventually focus on only the main quest later on. Not looking forward to leveling up fishing at all though.
CJ_Mystery
I might get into XV, since the PSN store has a Flash Sale where the regular edition is now $19.99 until the 19th. I need a lot of second opinions before I commit since I know that there is a lot of really brutal DLC attached to it and I don't think I could handle the foodgasms. I personally have no intention of getting the DLC. When it comes to RPGs, what I want is story content. Instead this one offers, time trials, score attacks and all that kind of nonsense, which I can see fitting into a pure hack-and-slash game like Bayonetta, DMC, etc., not into an RPG. Arctic Cress
Actually, each one of the DLCs focuses on another member of the party for a few hours of story, along with the other nonsense. You could just complete the story in each and then leave the rest of it unfinished. Skip the multiplayer one though, that doesn't add anything relevant.
